Hello! I’m Yuts, a member of the game development collaborative Geography of Robots.

We released our first game Norco in March and are now bringing it to consoles with the help of our publisher, Raw Fury. The game’s a first-person point-and-click adventure in the style of classics like Snatcher, Rise of the Dragon, and Deja Vu. You play as Kay, a transient young woman who’s returned to her hometown of Norco, Louisiana following her mom’s death only to discover that her brother has gone missing. Through this narrative, the player explores an uncanny and surreal depiction of South Louisiana filled with deranged ditch prophets, influencer cults, distributed flesh AI, and other visions of an alternative present. We’ve been surprised and extremely appreciative of the reception that the game’s been receiving, having won the first-ever Tribeca Games Award in 2021, as well as the “Long Feature” award at Berlin A Maze fest.

The game got its start as an informal geography project following Hurricane Katrina. A close friend and I were traveling around South Louisiana, taking photographs and conducting interviews to understand how the storm impacted our home. I’m from Norco, so I was particularly focused on both the town and the surrounding “River Parish” region. We conducted this project from around 2007 to 2010. From there, I started experimenting with open-source libraries online, learning pixel art and basic game design. I used this to build a side-scroller prototype based loosely on the observations and research we’d been collecting. I began collaborating with the sound artist “Gewgawly I” during that period, and the project quickly grew in scope.

Around 2020, after signing with Raw Fury, Aaron Gray came on board to help port the game from a JavaScript library to Unity. The incredible traditional painter Jesse Jacobi joined up with our crew the following year to assist with pixel art. By the time the game launched in March, we had a small team and a supportive community.  We’ve been spending the past several months adding quality-of-life features to the game. These include a combat bypass; an “expert mode” for players who want more challenging puzzles; custom fonts; and gamepad support that we very much hope console players will find comfortable and intuitive.

Making video games, getting career guidance, and building connections to last a lifetime: these aspirations are all a reality for students in Gameheads, a non-profit providing teaching, resources and mentorship to young people making the next generation of video games.

Despite strides in improving representation in the gaming industry, many paths towards a career in games remain inaccessible to youth of color and youth from low-income backgrounds due to a lack of funds or connections. Executive Director Damon Packwood co-founded Gameheads in his hometown of Oakland to help remedy this problem.

Gameheads’ program combines video game design and development, education and career counseling, industry exposure, and hands-on training. Over the course of a year, students learn all aspects of video game development: coding, design, project management, and teamwork – skills that are invaluable not only for working in the video game industry, but for a career in a variety of fields. Upon completing the program, students will have a finished game or prototype that they can include in their professional portfolio, and a mentor who can guide them through their journey in the gaming industry.

And Gameheads’ methods are a proven success: many Gameheads students have gone on to receive paid internships or employment at well-renowned video game studios, and several projects created out of Gameheads — like the stealth platformer Camino — will be available for purchase in 2023.

Last year, Xbox Publishing — the team working with independent development studios to release first-party Xbox games — gave $100,000 to Gameheads to help them invest in resources for trans, queer and other minority-gender students of color. With these funds, Gameheads is expanding its services to reach an even greater number of young women, femmes, and gender-expansive youths. Because women of color and LGBTQIA+ people of color are vastly underrepresented throughout the gaming industry, Gameheads’ goal is to ensure that young people from these cohorts will have the support they will need to thrive in their careers in the near- and long-term future.

Executive Director Damon Packwood explained that as part of Gameheads’ efforts for inclusion, the team will hire a full-time Program Manager who will focus on this new initiative and recruit a therapist who specializes in affirming care for trans and queer youth of color.

This is only a small part of the deep, longstanding relationship between Gameheads and Xbox: the Xbox Publishing team alone currently includes a Gameheads alum (Narrative Designer Casey Ramos) and a long-time mentor and board member (Design Director Marcus Montgomery). They see the teams’ collaboration as a perfect fit because of its emphasis on empowering students to achieve not only their career goals, but also their creative ambitions.

Get ready for something new in Turbo Golf Racing as Season 2: Aztec Run has arrived!

It’s been a turbo-charged start for all of us involved with Turbo Golf Racing, and since launching into Xbox Game Preview in August our players have all been asking for one feature in particular: new environments.

Today, we are delighted to fulfil this request.

Season 2: Aztec Run is our fourth free update to Turbo Golf Racing, and it introduces our fourth biome: Aztec. Comprising ten new levels, racers are transported into a colorful new world filled with luscious jungles and awe-inspiring ruins. It’s our most varied, eye-catching environment yet. Try not to get too distracted as you charge towards the hole!

The Aztec setting is more than just scenery. It’s also enabled us to introduce all-new features to our levels. Cars burst through waterfalls masking the course ahead, and roar over geysers that jet water upwards, propelling racers into the air for shortcuts. These additions completely change the dynamics of our races, bringing more unpredictability and excitement to every play session.

Of course, a fresh season also means a whole new season of unlocks has begun. There are another 40 rewards to work through in Season 2 as players rise through the ranks, with all-new car parts, balls and decals waiting for racers. Expect new cars and imagery that fit seamlessly into the Aztec biome, as well as some surprises too…

On top of these seasonal additions the in-game Store has received a new injection of extra items. This includes some Season 1 cosmetics, so there will be opportunities for new players to grab certain car parts and other cosmetics they have otherwise missed.

Finally, I can confirm that the new boost pick-up we tested during our limited-time Halloween Tricks ’N Treats event is here to stay. We heard your appreciation for it loud and clear, so thank you for making noise!

Indeed, we have been blown away by the entire Xbox community’s reception to Turbo Golf Racing and it’s humbling to see so many players taking part in our game and sharing thoughts about our development process. Goat Simulator 3 is ultimately the only game series in existence that lets you live out your wildest goat-themed dreams.

Step into the hooves of our protagonist and resident catastrophe-causer Pilgor to headbutt, scoot, and crash your way across the huge new island of San Angora.

Roam the wilds of the map and complete events to discover and suit up in over 350 cosmetics from hoof to horn. While some of our cosmetics are just for looks, many have special stackable powers which you can then unleash on unsuspecting NPCs, other players, or inanimate objects (whatever floats your goat).

Honestly this is our game’s biggest selling point. We just really love goats and if you do too, then this is the game for you.

Cause Mayhem…

In the real world there are silly things like the laws of nature, real-life consequences, and property damage fines. In San Angora the world is yours to bend to your will – or push it until it breaks.

Mess around with status effects from fire and electricity to pig-secreted grease to cause chain reactions in your wake.

Certain collectibles will give you abilities with no limits. Want to make an NPC’s head as big as the moon? Or plant your own in-game forest? We’ve given you the tools to do so … who cares about frame rates anyway?

“How do the mini-games work?” we hear you ask. We’ve designed areas of the map to show off each mini-games mechanics but once you’ve ‘found’ them in the world you and your friends can start them anywhere on the map seamlessly from the in-game menu.

There are Secrets to Be Found…

We don’t want to spoil anything here, because we’re not monsters. But there’s more content in Goat Simulator 3 than you can well … shake a goat at. The world is brimming with things to see, puzzles to solve, and collectibles to find – all with surprising results.

There may also be a few nods to other famous films, games, and brands to spot, but we don’t want anyone to sue us or send a cease and desist … so shhhhh.

While technically you can muck around in the world of Goat Simulator 3 indefinitely, we’ve built Goat Towers around the map which track player’s progress. The more you do in Goat Simulator 3, such as finding collectibles or completing in-game events, the closer you get to unlocking the official ‘ending’. But that, my friends, is for you to find out for yourselves.

The Crew 2 is going big with Season 7 Episode 1: Into the Storm, a free update out now that adds a 60FPS performance boost for Xbox Series S (among other quality-of-life improvements), new vehicles, and a five-stage, all-out underground street race from St. Louis to Las Vegas. In the biggest show produced by the fictional in-game TV production company Motorflix, players will roar across America’s heartland and past the finish line in five stages designed to push their driving skills to the limit. Dangerous and unpredictable conditions await, and players will need to dodge collapsing buildings, stay on course through a sandstorm, and contend with police roadblocks on the road to victory. If players can successfully complete all five legs of the race, they’ll unlock the Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR4 No Rules Edition (Street Race).

Into the Storm also adds a new performance mode for Xbox Series S that will run The Crew 2 at 60FPS at 1080p resolution. Performance mode is also getting a graphics-rendering boost on Xbox Series X, with support for 60FPS at 1440p.

Racers can also start in on a new Motorpass today, which features 50 tiers of rewards including cosmetic items, currency packs, and new vehicles including the the McLaren P1 Gold Line Edition (Hypercar), the Pontiac Firebird T/A Golden Wings Edition (Street Race), and the Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R Nebula Edition (Street Race). The S7E1 Motorpass offers 17 tiers of free rewards in total, including the Porsche 918 Spyder Silver Edition (Hypercar). In addition to new rewards, the new update changes how the Motorpass system works. For starters, the new pass now gives players the option of purchasing it with 3,000,000 Bucks, the in-game currency earned through gameplay, as well as with 80,000 Crew Credits.

Also, beginning with this update, vehicles from earlier Motorpasses will start returning for purchase through the in-game shop, beginning on November 23 with the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Interception Unit (Street Race). On December 21, players will be able to grab the Creators K.S. Masked Leader (Street Race) and the Bugatti Chiron Interception Unit (Hypercar), and December 28 will see the return of the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray Interception Unit (Street Race). Entirely new vehicles will also be available for purchase during the Episode, including the Pontiac Firebird T/A 1977 (Street Race) and the Mitsubishi FTO GP Version R (Street Race), along with 43 new vanity items such as avatar outfits, smokes, underglows, animated rooftops, and more.

All of this is in addition to the continuation of the Live Summit, which will deliver weekly PvP competitions that reward players with items and vehicles, depending on how far they can climb the leaderboards. The next era of Battle Royale is upon us with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, the redefined free-to-play experience introducing all new gameplay features and new modes like DMZ. It all starts with Al Mazrah, the epic battleground from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II universe.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 is live on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Read on for a preview of the epic action ahead.

Battle Royale Overview

In Battle Royale, except for a starting pistol and two armor plates to begin the match, all Operators must hunt down items within the map after deployment.

Loadouts, Custom Weapons, Streamlined Backpack

A Loadout in Battle Royale contains the following:

• Primary and Secondary Weapon
• Lethal and Tactical Equipment
• Perk Package – A pre-made set of four Perks containing Modern Warfare II Base, Bonus, and Ultimate Perks.

Loadouts arrive in Loadout Drops, which can descend at any time between the second and sixth Circle Collapses through an in-game event. Loadouts can also be earned earlier in the match by clearing out a Stronghold. More details on those below.

Custom Weapons: Instead of buying Loadouts from a Buy Station, the Buy Station sells only Custom Primary Weapons from your Loadouts. For your full Loadout, you’ll have to risk the trip to a Loadout Drop or clear out a Stronghold.

Circle Collapse: In some games, the Circle Collapse will behave as normal: one circle that closes in several stages. In others, the Circle Collapse can split into multiple circles, up to three in some cases. This can happen at any time in between the first and final two collapses.

Guide to the New Gulag

The new Gulag is a roughly symmetrical, small-scale arena built for 2v2 combat. Operators who are sent to the Gulag – upon first death in a Battle Royale before the final Circle Collapses – will be randomly paired up with another fallen Operator. All players will receive a pre-defined Loadout with highly effective weaponry and gear placed towards the center.

Instead of a central flag, the Overtime mechanic is a Jailer that jumps down onto the circular platform midway through the Gulag match. The Jailer has increased health and a Minigun. Eliminating the Jailer instead of the opposition brings all four Gulag entrants back into the match.

DMZ 101

Infiltrate Al Mazrah, complete faction-based missions, Contracts, and side objectives, then exfil out before dying.

Operators begin the match set in random points around Al Mazrah. Each Operator carries a Backpack that holds everything from weapons to equipment, cash, and other valuable items. You’ve got one life and dying results in the loss of all non-permanent items in your Backpack. Squadmates can revive each other, so don’t stray too far.

Backpack: Except for the weapons and items in your active Loadout, everything goes into your Backpack, including cash, extra ammo, weapons, equipment, and other valuables.

Exfiltrate: Exfiltrate at any time during the match. This is done by calling in a helicopter transport at specific marked locations. After all marked exfil locations are used, a final exfil point is revealed – this is the last means of escape before the match ends. Survive the trip there, defend the area, and get out.

Meet the Factions

Your main objective in DMZ is to complete missions given to you by one of three factions. These missions are selected prior to each match and can be completed at your own pace. The various factions are:

Legion: A private military contractor and the first of the factions an Operator can accept jobs from. The Legion is desperate to gain a foothold in the global conflict, and the soldiers who join them are said to no longer exist on paper.

White Lotus: For years, White Lotus used Al Mazrah’s abundance of natural resources to help fuel its benefactors, who are rapidly expanding their public infrastructure projects both within and beyond its borders. However, attrition from Al Qatala and other factions have reduced their presence in the area.

Black Mous: An anonymous, decentralized group, Black Mous have a shadow presence over the DMZ. Despite a lack of known leadership, the group is built on three key tenets: Do not talk about the Black Mous, do not reveal your personal identity, and do not attack the defenseless.

Contracts, World Activities, and PvP

In addition to faction missions, Operators can participate in other activities within DMZ.

Contracts: Just like in Battle Royale, DMZ contains side objectives that can be accepted in-match for cash and other rewards. Contracts include objectives like Secure Intel, Geiger Search, Elimination, Hostage Rescue, Cargo Delivery, and Hunt.

World Activities

• Safes: These contain tons of cash but take time to crack open. The drill used to open a Safe attracts AI Combatants and is loud enough to draw the attention of enemy Operators, too.
• SAM Sites: These anti-air turrets can shoot down planes carrying precious cargo; activate them to potentially earn a Supply Box.
• UAV Towers: Find these around Al Mazrah to receive intel on AI Combatant and Operator locations via the mini-map.
• Hidden Caches: Not marked on the map, these sites are worth seeking out for their valuable item drops.
• Strongholds: These also exist in Battle Royale; skip down to the Strongholds overview for more details.

Occasionally, parts of Al Mazrah may be under the effects of two conditions:

• Sandstorms: As a desert city, these conditions can kick up at any time, reducing visibility and damaging Operators over time.
• Radiation: This deadly condition can poison Operators. Iodine Pills, a new Field Upgrade, can be found to counteract its effects.

Enemy Operators and Assimilation

While DMZ focuses mainly on eliminating AI Combatants, you may also encounter other Operators during your travels across Al Mazrah. In squad-based DMZ matches, squads can assimilate with one another instead of fighting, thus forging an alliance.

Storage and Item Permanence

Anything you extract from the DMZ – cash, weapons, and other items – are kept in Storage, which can be accessed at any time between matches in the pre-match lobby. You are free to take anything from Storage and put it into the Backpack or active Loadout for the next infiltration.

Contraband Weapons: Any weapon found within DMZ is considered a Contraband Weapon. This includes weapons found on Operators, AI combatants, and around the map. In DMZ, extracting with any Contraband weapon unlocks it across all other game modes.

Weapon Blueprints: Other than Contraband, you also have access to Weapon Blueprints in DMZ. Weapon Blueprints have a unique property-they are not permanently lost upon death. Instead, dying in DMZ with a Weapon Blueprint on your person makes the Blueprint momentarily inaccessible.

General Overview – All Modes

Proximity Chat

Both Battle Royale and DMZ matches will have Proximity Chat enabled. In DMZ, Proximity Chat is crucial to ensuring an assimilation goes as planned. In Battle Royale, Proximity Chat is most useful to discuss strategy with your Gulag partner before the duel begins.

Strongholds and Black Sites

Strongholds: The first team to reach a Stronghold must clear all enemies and defuse a bomb before time expires, thus earning the items within plus a Loadout Crate and a UAV ping of the surrounding area.

In Battle Royale, three Strongholds are activated at the end of the first Circle Collapse. In DMZ, Operators must first locate a key within the map to access one of several available Strongholds.

Black Sites: Available only in Battle Royale, the Black Site is a more difficult variant of the Stronghold and features tough enemies, including a boss-level enemy such as a Juggernaut. The reward for completing a Black Site is well worth it: first, a permanent Weapon Blueprint rewarded for use in all modes.

Vehicles

Vehicular combat gets a serious upgrade in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0. Hop into a wide variety of vehicles for transportation across land, air, and sea. Each includes its own Operator capacity and armor rating, so choose wisely for the task at hand.

Some of the vehicles Operators will encounter include the ATV, UTV, Hatchback, Chop Top, SUV, Tactical Vehicle, Hummer EV, Light Helo, Heavy Chopper, RHIB, and the Armored Patrol Boat. Operators have multiple actions available to them when interacting with certain vehicles, including leaning out of windows to fire their weapons, swapping seats, and climbing onto the roof. Vehicles can have their tires blown out and their doors knocked off.

Fuel and Health: Fuel reserves appear as a meter alongside the vehicle’s damage and passenger counter at the bottom of the HUD. Fuel can be refilled either with Gas Cans found around the map, or at Gas Stations, so plan accordingly.

You can also repair vehicle damage. For land vehicles, fix tire damage by manually interacting with each tire to replace it. Vehicles also repair damage over time at Gas Stations.

Buy Station 2.0

Purchase items like Custom Weapons, Gas Masks, Killstreaks, Armor, and more at Buy Stations using cash earned in the match. In Battle Royale, buy back your fallen squadmates; in DMZ, sell the unwanted gear in your Backpack for extra cash.

Interrogations

After successfully downing an enemy player in a squad-based mode, you can interrogate them, briefly pinging the location of their allies both via the mini-map and outlines (like a Snapshot Grenade). This effect dissipates once the interrogator is more than 10 meters away from the interrogated enemy.

Note that the person being interrogated can also call for help, marking the interrogator’s position on the map, so think before rushing in to interrogate fallen enemies.

Aquatic Combat

Operators can now swim and navigate waterways, rivers, and the open sea as part of their strategy. While underwater, an Operator can only use small melee weapons and Sidearms, as well as equipment pieces like Throwing Knives.

Some lethal and tactical equipment pieces, along with Killstreaks, also have special properties on water. For example, Proximity Mines float on the surface of the water, threatening enemy boats.

Prepare to Drop In, Ready Up with Modern Warfare II

Purchase Modern Warfare II on Xbox to get access to a ton of content across three modes, including the ability to unlock 14 Operators and level up over 50 weapons across 30 available Weapon Platforms for use in Multiplayer and Special Ops.

Just in time for the holidays, the Xbox November update will start to rollout later today. Team Xbox is excited to continue bringing new ways to make Xbox better, with you at the center, as we refine the experience and deliver brand new features based on your feedback. This month’s update provides the ability to connect your Discord voice channels directly from your Xbox console, updates to wish list gifting and sale notifications, an improved captures experience for your game clips, and a lot more.

Connect to your Discord voice channels from your Xbox console

Starting today, we’ve made it even easier to chat with Discord friends across mobile, console, and PC. When your Discord account is linked to Xbox, you can now join voice channels from your Discord servers directly from your Xbox console. To try it, open the guide, scroll to Parties & chats, and select Discord. Then scroll through your available Discord servers and pick a voice channel. You’ll see a preview of your friends who are in a Discord server and voice channel before you join.

Noise suppression in Discord Voice on Xbox Series X|S

Noise suppression has been activated to produce even clearer audio when you connect to Discord Voice on Xbox Series X|S consoles. This feature blocks background noises like barking dogs and clicking keyboards while continuing to clearly transmit your voice. If you prefer your audio unfiltered, you can turn it off in the Discord call Options section.

Wish list gifting and sale notifications – Microsoft Store on Xbox

Gifting from your wish list is getting easier this holiday! When you share your Xbox wish list from your console or xbox.com with family and friends, they’ll receive a notification to check it out. They can choose to Buy as gift and have it sent to you, and they’ll receive a notification once you’ve received it.

You’ll also get notifications when items on your wish list go on sale. The new wish list notification will show up in the guide and as a pop-up to let you know when your wish list games go on sale and what the discount is. New preferences for Store notifications have also been added. In Settings > Preferences > Store notifications, you can decide if you want to see notifications in the guide, when your wish list items are on sale, and more.

New integrated Captures app for your gaming moments

We’ve added a new Captures app to your Xbox. You can find it in the Capture & share tab of the guide, as well as My games & apps, and it offers improved viewing, management, and editing of your game captures. It also lets you copy your game clips and screenshots directly to an external drive. And for better playback quality, Xbox Series X|S consoles now provide an increased bit rate for game clips captured in 720p and 1080p.

Enhanced power options and customization

More detailed information about Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One console power usage is now available. Under Settings > General > Power options, you can compare the power use of your console in either Shutdown (energy saving) or Sleep mode to help you decide which works best for you. New Xbox Series X|S consoles default to Shutdown (energy saving) mode, which you can change any time in Settings.

We’ve also added the ability to further customize your power options, including the ability to turn off the console after a specified period of inactivity.

Live stream with Twitch, Lightstream, and Streamlabs Studio from your Xbox console

You can now start your live stream directly from your Xbox console with Twitch, Lightstream, and Streamlabs. To get started, open the guide and go to Capture & share > Live streaming > More options. Then scroll down to Destination to stream from the Twitch, Lightstream, or Streamlabs Studio apps. With the newly integrated streaming experiences, the Twitch app on Xbox consoles is now dedicated to viewing only.

Controller rumble for Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta) on PC and Mac   

Get ready for a more immersive cloud gaming experience! Controller rumble is now available for cloud gaming on PC and Mac via Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome browsers, with Samsung TVs also being updated this month. Pick up your favorite controller that supports controller rumble, like the Xbox Wireless Controller or Sony DualShock 4, and start playing.

Recommendations in Settings

We’ve added a new Recommendations section in Settings with a summary of things you can do to get the most out of your Xbox. Recommendations vary between consoles and accounts based on your current settings. For example, a recommendation to “Set up your audio” will help you play your media to its highest potential.

Ask to join  

Want to join a friend’s game? You can now “Ask to join” directly from someone’s profile and not just from the “Happening now” page. Your friend will get notified that you’re interested and can respond with an invite or message.

Xbox Assist redesigned as Xbox Support

Xbox Assist has a new name – “Xbox Support”. You’ll notice that we’ve updated the design and articles are now scrollable. You can now more easily navigate to help articles, manage your subscriptions, view your order history, check your account settings, and monitor any active enforcement actions from your account on the Xbox Support app home page.

Now, we’re adding more support and more features to Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) to provide gamers an even better experience:

• We’re investing in making the cloud gaming experience better by adding controller rumble to the Xbox App.

How to Start Playing on Select 2021 Samsung Smart TVs

Rolling out through the rest of this year, select 2021 Samsung Smart TV owners will be able to search for and download the Xbox App right from their TV. This means existing Samsung customers will have instant access to Xbox Cloud Gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, letting players stream hundreds of high-quality Xbox games, including new releases like Grounded and Pentiment, directly on their Smart TVs.

Simply launch the app, connect your favorite Bluetooth-enabled controller, and start playing.

If you are new to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you can join or upgrade for just $1 directly in the app. If you don’t have a membership and just want to try the experience for yourself before you sign up, you can play Fortnite for free. Are you Ready to Rumble?

From chatting teammates to the trembling of a controller in your hand, there are lots of dimensions to gaming beyond what’s on the screen. Owners of 2021 and 2022 Samsung Smart TVs will get to feel a more immersive cloud gaming experience with rumble on controllers.

Pick up your favorite Bluetooth-enabled controller, such as the Xbox Wireless Controller and PlayStation DualSense, and start playing.

Feel the wheels hitting that pavement as you drift in Forza Horizon 5 and the reloads of your Battle Rifle  in your Halo: Infinite online multiplayer matches. When it rolls out by the end of the year, rumble will add a whole new layer to you’re the Xbox games that you can play via the cloud on your 2021 and 2022 Samsung Smart TV.

When we last left Rumbleverse, we witnessed the birth of Grapital City. The city’s champions were locked in combat, battling to be the last standing in the Rumble. These battles brought 40 players together to dash, climb, and fight their way through the city terrain in a brawler royale. This season, we’re expanding the map to the “relaxing” vacation spot of Low Key Key. A place with sandy beaches, a colosseum-esque Lava Dome, and a tropical landscape for you to swing around.

In Season Two we are expanding our take on melee combat with more for your team. Season Two Battle Pass is launching on day one with cosmetics, emotes, and more for you to unlock as rewards. New weekly challenges will help you rank up and rake in the new loot. Customize your character for the sunny beaches with new cosmetics. Smash a crate on Low Key Key to find new weapons, upgrades, and special moves you’ll use to get the upper hand.

This map has plenty of environmental hazards for players to exploit (or watch out for!), as Dawnforge level designer Shakti Das explains: “Map interactivity was something sorely missing from Paladins and with our timeline we thought this was a great opportunity to experiment. After some testing on an initial blockout – where the forge was just two floors with a giant hole in the middle – environment art discussed adding something that could move between both floors. That’s where I prototyped the hammer and tested it across various movement directions and speeds. The Orb, on the other hand, was introduced in the map’s initial concept art, and I thought of it being a giant Capture Point hazard due to its overwhelming presence.” 

Alongside the Dawnforge Map, the new Chaos Rising Event Pass releases with this update, which invites you to embrace the pandemonium as you play through 24 levels of chaos. Earn over 20 rewards, including the Eternal Emissary Tyra and The Harlequin Raum skins, as well as an alternate version of each. The Cities: Skylines World Tour starts today with the release of two Content Creator Packs inspired by different regions around the world, two radio stations, and a free update for all players. 

Cities: Skylines (Xbox One Edition and Windows 10 Edition) gives you the opportunity to create and manage the city of your dreams. Today, we explore this concept even more with inspirations from different parts of the world, kicking off the Cities: Skylines World Tour! Players today can add towering high-rise buildings and iconic Korean architecture with the Skyscrapers and Heart of Korea Content Creator Packs. You can’t have a memorable trip without a great soundtrack, so players can pick up the K-Pop Station and 80’s Downtown Beat radio stations to inspire their urban planning.

When we started working on the winter content plan for Cities: Skylines, we challenged ourselves to release 10 pieces of content, including Content Creator Packs, radio stations, and free updates by the end of the year. This brought us back to the drawing board to discuss what made us fall in love with our game in the first place. Whether you take on new forestry missions or do your own thing: You can mark trees that you and your friends need to chop down (especially deadwood), break rocks in your path with a hydraulic hammer, and move harvested logs with exciting toys.

Drag logs around with winches, attach them to yarders and move them through the air over otherwise impassable terrain. Using wheel loaders, shipping containers, big trucks, and other vehicles and tools, you set up logistics, and start new production chains to produce furniture, cat trees, or dog houses. Or… OR… you build a rollercoaster!

Construction Projects

With the Platinum Expansion, we also introduce construction projects. As Silverrun Forest is the perfect destination for recreational amusement, the local construction site for a rollercoaster is dependent on your delivery of logs and other resources – like metal, processed after scooping the local iron ore mine. Yes, you can ride the rollercoaster when it’s finished.

There’s also a boatyard, where one boat after another is built thanks to your deliveries and then dropped into the lake. All that earns you a hefty sum of money, of course, to expand your business. With more than 20,000 trees greeting you in Silverrun Forest, there’s still enough space to plant more or do some classic agriculture on fields. Choose your own play style! And keep your eyes open while wandering through the forests, as we’ve hidden a lot of collectibles!
