    The HDMI Port as shown above seems to have some Curcuit issue, and there is one contact clearly standing out!

    It seems that users have a 50-50 good/bad experience with their PS4s via Amazon. Luckily (and thankfully), I am on the good side of that coin. I was not without my issues, however.
    Knowing that users seem to be getting hit awith either BLoD or HDMI problems, I inspected my console’s HDMI port as well as I could for any signs of abnormalities. No pins were raised, so I inserted the provided HDMI cable with surgeon-like precision and care.
    The console started up normally (blue to white light), but the screen flicked on-off-on almost immediately. Thinking this was my TV and the PS4 syncing an automatic resolution, I held my breath and felt my gut drop as the on-off flickering continued.
    I inspected the HDMI cable, the HDMI port, and tried different cable/port combinations to no avail. Thankfully, I decided to try and eliminate potential fault points by working my way from the console to the TV. I found that, for whatever reason, the PS4 and my Sony STR-KS360 receiver did not like each other. I direct connected my PS4 to the TV, and huzzah! System patch 1.50 downloaded in maybe 15 minutes and I was running at full speed.
    If I can say anything, though, its to b3 patient if you’re having issues. Look it up on forums (I found reddit’s PS4 sub to be very informative) and TRY not to lose your cool.
    Amazon and Sony are legit customer service companies, so they will take care of us.

    Here’s what to do if you got Day One with not broken HDMI:

    Step 1: Decide if you want a refund from Amazon or a replacement from Sony. If you decide to call Sony the number is 1(800) 345 7669:

    If your console light turns white (and doesn’t get stuck at pulsating blue), it could be the HDMI cable or connection issue. Fix with a pin (see Kotaku’s article).

    If it stays blue and pulsates, try safe mode (turn off system completely, then hold down power for 10 sec and wait till you hear beeps). From here Sony can help you troubleshoot if you wanted to call in. If it wont even boot to safe mode, it’s bricked. You can try to troubleshoot on your own if you’re adventurous:
    1. Hold down power button until the unit powers off and the light goes out. This took about 10 seconds.
    2. From power off, enter Safe Mode by holding down the power button until you hear beeps. Release power button after the second beep. The Safe Mode menu will appear with a list of options.
    3. Select Option 4 to restore PS4 to factory defaults. Once it’s done, the system will restart.
    4. In our case, after the reboot, the PS4 automatically entered Safe Mode. This time, they had us select Option 6 to Initialize the PS4. Note that by doing this, you will lose profiles and settings so just be aware that you are basically starting over. Once it’s done, the system will restart.
    5. When the PS4 comes back up, it will take you through the initial setup again as if it’s being booted for the first time.

    If you can’t get the PS4 to boot into safe mode, it’s not your HDMI port. it’s an internal issue and you’ll have to send it to Sony to be fixed.

      7 – Carcharodon: At the start of the mission, go down the first hallway. Look for the two men near the glowing red light at the end. Just before reaching them, there is a barracks room on the right. Enter the room to find it on the top bunk bed.

      8 – Lord Of The Waves: After swimming underwater to find the G-46, your squad will surface in a room. Search for a door with a glowing green light. It is behind the brown pillar on the left, near the debris.

      9 – Agent Kovic: After Hannah is rescued from the infirmary, the squad will return to the upper deck. Go outside, turn right, and search the copilot seat of the crashed helicopter to find it.

      Singapore

      10 – Horizontal Rain: After the mission begins, look near the empty white boat on the left to find it on the beach.

      11 – Armored Column: At the club where your squad gets into a fight, look behind the bar counter with the red stools to find it.

      12 – The Grounded Dog: After entering the hangar with the large white and blue passenger plane, climb onto the left wing using the ramp to find it pinned to the plane door.

      Kunlun Mountains

      13 – Cage Fighter: When you meet back up with Irish after rescuing him, look for the dark holding cells in the next room to the right. It is inside the last cell down the hall.

      14 – Freedom At Any Cost: In the room where you must protect Dima while he hacks the control room, climb up to the catwalk, and scale the left wall to find it being held to a broken electrical box with a knife.

      16 – The Destruction Enthusiast: When you reach the building in the park with the blue blankets hanging above the staircase (near the bridge), look for a blue truck ahead of another building in the park. Destroy it, then enter through the truck to find it.

      17 – Upstream Swimmer: After reaching the base and defeating the enemy helicopter, climb the yellow ladder on the left to reach the top of the office building. Jump to the black scaffolding to find it.

      18 – The Rebel: While fighting on the flight deck, look for a white plane on the left side of the deck. Climb onto the plane using the right wing, and walk towards the tail to find it stuck to the side with a knife.

      19 – Fleet Guardian: When you reach the infirmary inside the Valkyrie, look on the right side (behind the second set of curtains) in the medbay to find it on one of the beds.

    Extinction mode

    Play Campaign mode on the Regular or higher difficulty. Successfully complete the first four missions: „Ghost Stories“, „Brave New World“, „No Man’s Land“, and „Struck Down“. After completing the first four missions, Extinction mode will be unlocked at the main menu. Alternately, reach Level 5 in Multiplayer mode to unlock Extinction mode. In Extinction mode, four players fight aliens in a post-apocalyptic world.

    • Ghillie suitTo unlock the Ghillie suit in Multiplayer mode, select „Weapon Challenges“ to see if the „Chrome Barrel Master“ challenge is active. If it says „Challenge Inactive“, go to „Operations“, and spend one Squad Point to get new challenges. Repeat this process until the „Chrome Barrel Master“ challenge is active. Then, complete the „Chrome Barrel Master“ challenge to unlock the Ghillie suit.
    • Exploding alien dolls Easter EggStart Chapter 1: Point Of Contact in Extinction mode, and obtain the sniper rifle. Find the „Gil’s Lodge Motel“ neon sign in the first area of the game.       5. Mission 5: Homecoming: At the beginning of the mission, after entering the first building and reaching stairs, turn left before going up to find the file on the desk in that room.

      6. Mission 6: Legends Never Die: After getting past the flooded streets and entering a new interior through a wrecked walkway, kill the two enemies, then go to the desk where they were standing to find the file.

      7. Mission 7: Federation Day: After cutting the window to make an entrance, go left as you enter the first hallway. Then, enter the first open doorway on the left to find an office with the file on a desk inside, in the back right corner.

      8. Mission 8: Birds Of Prey: When you enter a room where Rorke is waiting later in the mission, quickly grab the file on the desk before the mission transitions into another part.

      9. Mission 9: The Hunted: After the crash landing sequence, you will eventually meet up with your lost squad again. In the area you find them, follow the stream of water on the left up to a waterfall. The file is on a rock to the left of the stream, near the waterfall.

      10. Mission 10: Clockwork: At the beginning of the area where you must use night-vision goggles and fight through the security checkpoint, look down the hallway to see the file through the window.

      11. Mission 11: Atlas Falls: After entering a chamber where you are ordered to interact with the control room, before deactivating the regulators, look on the right to find a side room with the file inside.

      12. Mission 12: Into The Deep: When the LSC is destroyed, you will have to escape sinking debris, and eventually reach a shipwreck. Immediately when you reach the enemy ambush, swim to the ocean floor to find file on a rock.

      13. Mission 13: End Of The Line: Once you reach a silo and are ordered to take a picture, after going through the door with „Mantengase Alejado“ on it, immediately go down the stairs on the left, and turn left at the bottom of the stairs to find the file.

      14. Mission 14: Sin City: After going through the large mall and reaching the slot machines, an ally will lift up a shutter for you to crawl through. Then, turn left to find the file on a table next to the couches.

      15. Mission 15: All Or Nothing: Immediately after the mission begins and you put on the ghost mask, turn around to find the file on one of the lower bunks, in the left row.

      16. Mission 16: Severed Ties: After launching the rockets, an ally will lead you downstairs and open a door. After going through the doors, go down the hallway on the right, and enter the first door on the left to find the file on a terminal in the corner.

      17. Mission 17: Loki: After there is an explosion and you float through a tube, you will enter an open area in space. The file is floating in mid-air to the right of the large bronze solar panel.

      18. Mission 18: The Ghost Killer: When the mission begins, immediately turn around, and look to the right to find the file on a red tool chest, near your vehicle.

       

       
    • Easy „Carbon Faceprint“ achievementIn Mission 7: Federation Day, towards the end of the mission, you will rappel down a building. It will be the third time you rappel in this mission. It is after you turn off the elevators to stop enemy forces from closing in on your position. Once you interact with the rope, do not do anything else, and simply wait for a couple of seconds. The photocopier will fall straight onto your face, and you will get the „Carbon Faceprint“ achievement.
    • Easy „Cog In The Machine“ achievementAt the beginning of Mission 13: End Of The Line, quietly kill the first five enemies by yourself, without being seen or heard. Kills from your teammates do not count. You can shoot enemies with your silenced weapons to remain undetected. The first kill will occur automatically when you jump down a ledge. The second enemy is in the train yard. The third enemy is with three other enemies. Wait until your teammates arrive and shoot either one of the enemies. Your team will take out the rest. The fourth and fifth enemies are behind the gate that your teammate opens for you. Prone and kill both of them quickly before your teammates kill them for you.
    • Easy „David & Goliath“ achievementApproximately halfway through Mission 12: Into The Deep, you will have to use a torpedo to destroy a warship. While guiding the torpedo, you will automatically be using thermal vision and can see a red area on the side of the ship. Hit this red area to destroy the LCS and get the „David & Goliath“ achievement.
    • Easy „Deep Freeze“ achievementAt the end of Mission 10: Clockwork, you will have to escape an enemy facility. While one of your teammates is driving, you will gain control over a grenade launcher turret. There will be a lot of vehicles chasing you. Instead of shooting at them directly, shoot a little bit in front of them to blow a hole into the ground. If they drive over it, the vehicle and its crew will become incapacitated, which counts towards this achievement. Do this to eight different vehicles before reaching the end of the mission to get the „Deep Freeze“ achievement.
    • Easy „End Of Your Rope“ achievementAt the beginning of Mission 15: All Or Northing, you will have to clear the flight deck of enemies. Then, you will have to pick up the Osprey targeting control. As soon as you pick it up, enemies will start attacking the ship from the side. They will come in dinghies and throw grappling hooks on the ship. Wait until an enemy starts climbing the rope, then cut it with your knife to get the „End Of Your Rope“ achievement.
    • Easy „Fly-by-wire“ achievementShortly after Mission 16: Severed Ties begins, you will see a prompt on the screen about switching to guided rounds. Once you see this prompt, attack helicopters will arrive. Simply do as instructed and switch to guided rounds to shoot down all three helicopters and get the „Fly-by-wire“ achievement.
    • Easy „Grindin’“ achievementTowards the end of Mission 11: Atlas Falls, you will have to use a console to regulate the pressure of some valves. It is part of the story and cannot be missed. There will be three bars on the screen. You need to keep them in the middle, so they are colored green. Move the bars up and down to keep them in the green zone. It does not matter if they drop to the yellow zone briefly, just as long as you bring them back to the green zone quick enough.
    • Easy „It Came From Below!“ achievementDuring Mission 6: Legends Never Die, there are three different locations where you can kill enemies while underwater. The water is just waist-deep, so you have to crouch, and then kill enemies with your knife. It is recommended to play on the „Rookie“ difficulty when attempting to do this to make it as easy as possible. Enemies will still be shooting at you when you go underwater, and you have to get really close to them to perform knife kills. Just run up to the enemies standing in water, crouch, and use the knife to kill them to get the „It Came From Below!“ achievement.
    • Easy „Jack-pot“ achievementIn Mission 14: Sin City, you will reach an egyptian casino. A lot of enemies will ambush you in this area. Destroy all slot machines in this area by shooting their screens. At the end of the casino is a gate that one of your teammates will raise for you. Go under it, and you will reach a broken escalator. Before you walk down the escalator, look to the opposite side of the room to find five more slot machines. Destroy their screens to get the „Jack-pot“ achievement.
    • Easy „Jungle Ghosts“ achievementIn Mission 9: The Hunted, you must complete the entire mission without ever being spotted by an enemy to get the „Jungle Ghosts“ achievement. In the first part of the mission, you are on your own. Stay to the left side of the area, and watch the radar. Nearby enemies will be shown with red dots on the radar. You can kill any necessary enemies. Always stay crouched to avoid being noticed. In the second area, you will see some burning rubble. Move slowly, and stay to the left side again until you reach your team. From this point on, you will only need to follow your teammates and do exactly what they tell you to do. If you are spotted at any point, just restart the checkpoint, and try again.
    • Easy „Liberty Wall“ achievementIn Mission 2: Brave New World, after defeating the enemies at the gas station, you will have to fight your way through an old sewer. Once you reach the end of this area, you will be attacked by two helicopters. The first (smaller) helicopter will fly away after a short amount of time — so take it down quickly. There are several MAAWS rocket launchers on some crates. Grab one of them, and when shooting, keep aiming at your target to guide the missile. Shoot down both helicopters using the rocket launcher to get the „Liberty Wall“ achievement.
    • Easy „Piece Of Cake“ achievementPlay Mission 11: Atlas Falls on the Veteran difficulty. After using the grapnel gun, you will have to kill a lot of enemies and go to the common room. You will then have to breach the door. After the door has been breached, throw all your flashbangs and frag grenades to kill the enemies inside. Make sure to not waste any grenades before reaching this room, as you will need them all. If you do not kill all enemies with your grenades, you can simply let your teammates kill the rest of them. If you get hit at all, restart the checkpoint, and try again.

       

       
    • Easy „Sleeping Beauty“ achievementIn Mission 7: Federation Day, after uploading the virus in the server room, you will have to rappel down the building. There are two enemies on a balcony. Kill them first to avoid being detected. Two floors below that balcony is an enemy sleeping in a chair. Shoot him through the window to get the „Sleeping Beauty“ achievement.
    • Easy „They Look Like Ants“ achievementAt the end of Mission 17: Loki, you will be controlling weapons from space. You can see the exact blast radius when aiming. The ammo is unlimited, so you can shoot as often as desired. Kill the foot soldiers first, and then destroy the main targets. Make sure to carefully kill all enemies before destroying the final target. Do not aim anywhere near the allies or they will die. If you think you may have accidentally killed allies, immediately restart the checkpoint, and try again.

    Easy „Tickets Please“ achievement

    In Mission 18: The Ghost Killer, after killing the first enemies, you will be attacked by several helicopters. Shortly after this, the grapple guys will climb up the train. There are four of them, but you only need to kill two of them to get the „Tickets Please“ achievement. You must kill them before they reach the top of the train. If you fail to do this, restart the checkpoint, and try again.

    • Easy „Waste Not“ achievementDuring Mission 4: Struck Down, you will have to use the remote sniper four times. You cannot miss these opportunities, as they are required to progress in the mission. Only fire when your crosshairs turn yellow. It will be a guaranteed hit. In the first sequence, you must kill at least one enemy, and your team will do the rest. In the second sequence, you must take out four enemies with rocket launchers. In the third sequence, you must clear an airfield, and kill several enemies. In the fourth sequence, you must kill the three enemies that fire their MGs from vehicles. If you miss a shot, you can pause the game and restart the checkpoint at any time. Even if you restart, you will still get the „Waste Not“ achievement.

    Kingdom Under Fire II has been in development during five years, the game was originally planned for a 2009 release for Xbox 360 and PC, then Blueside announced that the game will arrive to Playstation 3, and now they have confirmed that Kingdom Under Fire II will be released for Playstation 4.

    There’s no release date yet announced for the PS4 version of the game, but it will arrive this year for PC in Southeast Asia.

    Here’s a list of issues plaguing the PlayStation 4 at launch, and how to fix them.

    Astro A50s: Cannot Hear Other People Speaking

    Everything appears to be hunky-dory with the Astro A50s, with the sound coming through the headphones just as you would expect, except for received chat audio. You can talk through the headset, but you can’t hear others speaking.

    A possible fix for this issue is to do the following:

    1. Hold Home Button
    2. Adjust Devices
    3. Output to headphones -> All Audio

    DualShock 4 R1 Button Sticking

    There are several reports that units of the DualShock 4 appear to sport defective R1 buttons. After just a few hours of play, the R1 button seems to stick.

    Remember to keep your receipt so you can return these to the store for an exchange.

    PS4 Won’t Turn On, Bricking Issue

    There been a few reports that players who received their PS4 via the Taco Bell contest doesn’t properly turn on, or off (once you manage to get it running). Here’s what the symptoms are like:

    The PS4 won’t show a picture, but the blue light pulses. It tries to load data from the hard disk drive, but it doesn’t – so it doesn’t load into the operating system.

    Here’s a not-so-simple fix that appears to alleviate the issue:

    1. You have to unplug your HDD
    2. Boot the console without HDD and it will load Safe Mode (white lightbar) and asks for a HDD
    3. Turn off, plug in the HDD again and boot the console again
    4. PS4 will boot into Safe Mode again and you can recover now the necessary OS Data, PS4 will start again and will boot into OS again.

    A Twitch user (twitch.tv/hi11zones) recently faced a problem with his PlayStation 4. The console wouldn’t switch on and was essentially bricked. However, there are solutions for fixing this issue.

    First off, check your HDMI signal. If that doesn’t work, switch off your console and remove the HDD. Boot up in Safe Mode (indicated by a white lightbar on the controller) and when prompted for an HDD, turn the console off, plug the HDD in and then turn the console on again. It will again appear in Safe Mode and will recover the OS data before starting up like normal.

    If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to format your HDD and reinstall the relevant firmware. Keep in mind that the Twitch user above faced issues even with the prescribed steps. Make sure to get your HDD checked in that case.

    A Sony representative has provided the following statement to IGN: „A handful of people have reported issues with their PlayStation 4 systems. This is within our expectations for a new product introduction, and the vast majority of PS4 feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We are closely monitoring for additional reports, but we think these are isolated incidents and are on track for a great launch.

    There have been several problems reported, which leads us to believe there isn’t a singular problem that could impact a broader percentage of systems. The number of affected systems represents less than .4% of shipped units to date, which is within our expectations for a new product introduction.“

    Correction: Note that the statement originally provided to IGN by Sony mistakenly said „.04%.“ A Sony representative has now confirmed to IGN that this figure was provided in error, and it has been corrected to „.4%.“

    UPDATE: The PS4 overload seems to affect also Playstation 3 users, as the connection time is now slow as hell and connecting back in fails at time. Also Twitch service has gone down because there are too many users trying out the new Playstation 4 share video streaming feature.

    We are now less than 48 hours from the launch of the PlayStation 4, and excitement levels are quickly approaching fever pitch. But while it’s easy to get a little bit carried away amid the hype, we’re still learning of potentially significant tidbits pertaining Sony’s fourth-gen gaming machine. Since the preceding PlayStation 3 featured a Blu-ray player from the get-go, it was a given that the PS4 would also support Blu-ray playback, even before the announcement. But now, it has been revealed that there will be no 3D Blu-ray support, meaning those with 3D panels at home will need to find a separate, compliant player if they want to kick back and enjoy their favorite three-dimensional flicks.

    This is, to the hardcore gamer, by the by, and with many prospective PS4 owners having preordered on the basis of the console’s game-playing credentials, it really isn’t that significant. However, with the Xbox One offering 3D Blu-ray support and Microsoft really seeming to push the wider entertainment appeal of its third-gen offering, this revelation may prompt some to reconsider the PlayStation 4.

    What’s even more baffling is that, in actual fact, the PlayStation 3 does support 3D Blu-ray, but as has been spotted in the PS4 User Guide by the folks of The Sixth Axis, its forthcoming successor does not follow suit.

    Support for traditional Blu-rays, as well as DVDs, is present from the first release date, and support for CD playback will arrive with a later software update. But with consumers moving away from CDs as a form of listening to music and onto digital services, the lack of initial support is unlikely to have any major effect, whereas the lack of 3D Blu-ray playback might.

    With that said, it’s a fair point to make that 3D Blu-ray hasn’t really taken off in the way that Sony and others might have hoped, and as a major vendor of television sets, it is as well placed as any to gauge whether implementing this feature into the PlayStation 4 is a worthwhile venture.
