New details revealed for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo have revealed more details for the highly anticipated games Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon Trainers would be able to take part in the Island Challenge. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, the Island Challenge returns but this time some of the challenges are different and there is an additional new Trial. As players work through the Island Challenge they will be confronted with trouble involving the Legendary Pokémon Necrozma. Trainers will meet mysterious people and Pokémon as they witness the new dangers closing in on the Alola region.

More than 400 Pokémon will be discoverable in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, many of which were not available in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Some of these Pokémon will only appear depending on which version of the game is played. For example, in the same patch of tall grass where Houndoom will appear in Pokémon Ultra Sun, Manectric will appear in Pokémon Ultra Moon.

In the Alola region you can ride Pokémon in many areas and have them help you out on your journey. Now, in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon you can ride the waves on the vast ocean with Mantine, thanks to the brand-new Mantine Surf. Mantine Surf isn’t just a way to get between the islands of Alola, but it is also a sport in its own right, with Trainers competing for the highest score by pulling off a variety of radical moves. Become a pro and pull off some super cool tricks across Alola’s sea with Mantine Surf!

Another new feature making its way to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon is the Alola Photo Club. Trainers can now take photos together with their Pokémon and choose backgrounds, camera angles, Trainer outfits, poses and more to capture amazing images. After the shoot, players can decorate the photos with cool frames and over 100 different stickers to create the perfect photo. These photos can then be shared with other players through communication features on the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. When players take photos with their Pokémon, their Pokémon will become more affectionate towards them.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon are also scheduled to be compatible with the Pokémon Global Link, a linked website that allows users to connect with other players all over the worlds using saved and gameplay data from their Pokémon series games, when they launch globally on November 17 2017.

Today also sees the launch of three Pokémon video games. The first of these is Pokkén Tournament DX for the Nintendo Switch Console, which includes all the content from both the Wii U and arcade versions of Pokkén Tournament. Pokkén Tournament DX introduces an array of exciting new features to create the ultimate Pokkén experience. Features include the brand new fighter Decidueye, new support Pokémon Litten and Popplio, new battle modes, daily challenges and more. Thanks to the Nintendo Switch, you can now play Pokkén anytime and anywhere. Play Pokkén Tournament DX in TV mode, handheld mode, or share a Joy-Con controller with another Trainer to battle one-on-one in tabletop mode anywhere. Pokkén Tournament DX is available to purchase at retail and in Nintendo eShop.

The second titles in the Pokémon Series, Pokémon Gold Version and Pokémon Silver Version, are also launching today on Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Fan favorite titles, and originally among the first mainstream RPG games to appear on the Game Boy Color, Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver continued to expand the Pokémon universe, adding 100 Pokémon, held items and real-time events, thanks to an internal game clock. Featuring wireless communication functionality, the new Virtual Console versions of the games allow Trainers to trade and battle wirelessly and both games are compatible with Pokémon Bank. Through Pokémon Bank, players will be able to bring the Pokémon that they catch in the Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver into Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon when those games launch. Fans who purchase Pokémon Gold or Pokémon Silver at on Nintendo eShop before September 21 2018 will receive a special code which will grant them the Mythical Pokémon Celebi in the Pokémon Sun, Pokémon Moon, Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon video games.

Meditative Parallel Puzzle Game Semispheres Available Now on Nintendo Switch™

Semispheres in an interesting take on puzzle games, that twists the genre into new and inventive ways,” said Radu Muresan, designer of Semispheres. ““With a minimalist art style, single player and cooperative modes and a soundtrack by visionary composer Sid Barnhoorn, in Semispheres you need your mind in two places at one“.

In Semispheres, each analogue stick controls a different avatar in environments that might initially appear identical but reveal profound differences crucial to progression. Portals allow the avatars to enter each other’s reality, creating fiendishly complex inter-dimensional puzzles, with success reliant on methodical planning and skilful execution. It’s not all esoteric brain workouts, though. Tension is introduced through the sentries that guard these worlds, whose fields of vision you must evade in order to find safe passage and the eventual resynchronisation of the worlds.

With fiendish puzzles that escalate in complexity, Semispheres presents a real challenge for both puzzle aficionados and newcomers to the genre alike. Yet the game’s beautiful audio and visual presentation ensure things never get too much, making it as soothing an experience as it is challenging. Semispheres is also available on PC through Steam and for PlayStation 4 on the PlayStation Store.

Turn your Nintendo Switch into a mini arcade cabinet!

    Reading Time: < 1 minute

People with 3D printers make the world a fun, wonderful place.Turn your Nintendo Switch into a mini arcade cabinet!

An engineer who goes by „ConcaveChest“ created an enclosure for the Nintendo Switch that doubles as a cooling stand and a sweet-looking mini arcade cabinet. The design is available to check out and download for free on Thingiverse.

The Switch cabinet allows you to sit your Switch console in a perfectly angled position to play on a table (let’s face it, the little Switch kickstand isn’t always the most reliable piece of plastic) and charge it at the same time — a feature that’s not normally possible considering the charging port is located on the bottom of the console.

ConcaveChest lists the parts necessary to enable charging of both the Switch console and a controller, though of course the case itself requires a 3D printer.

Once the case is printed and the charging parts put in, the Switch console can slide in and out of it.

Secrets of Lycanroc Dusk Form Revealed

We recently got our first look at the newly discovered Dusk Form Lycanroc. Now more details have been revealed, including how you can add this cool Pokémon to your Pokémon Ultra Sun or Pokémon Ultra Moon game.

    A Unique Look and Attitude

Dusk Form Lycanroc shares some of the aspects of Midday Form, such as a four-legged stance and obedience toward its trusted Trainer. But it’s also like Midnight Form—at the moment it attacks, its eyes turn red! Around its neck are four rocks like those of Midday Form, while the mane on its head matches that of Midnight Form.

Little things don’t shake the tranquil demeanor of Dusk Form Lycanroc, but it has a well of intense fighting spirit hidden within, and as a result, it relishes combat at close quarters. It also tries to use Counter when battles get intense.

    A New Battle Formation

The moves that Dusk Form Lycanroc can learn also seem to reflect the characteristics of both Midday and Midnight Forms. Dusk Form Lycanroc learns both Accelerock and Counter—moves favored by Midday Form and Midnight Form Lycanroc, respectively.

Accelerock is a Rock-type physical move that always goes first. In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, only Midday Form Lycanroc could learn this move. Midday Form could learn this move when it evolved from Rockruff. Counter is a Fighting-type move that inflicts double the damage received by an opponent’s physical attack. In Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, Midnight Form Lycanroc learned this move when it evolved from Rockruff.

Dusk Form Lycanroc has the Ability Tough Claws, a different Ability than either Midday Form or Midnight Form. Tough Claws greatly increases the power of moves that make direct contact. A Dusk Form Lycanroc with this Ability would likely favor a different style of battle than Midday Form or Midnight Form.

    Get Dusk Form Lycanroc!

Only special Rockruff can evolve into a Dusk Form Lycanroc, and neither this Rockruff nor Dusk Form Lycanroc can be caught in normal gameplay. But you can get a special gift of this Rockruff as an early purchase bonus with Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. Players will be able to receive a special Rockruff that can evolve into Dusk Form Lycanroc via Nintendo Network from Friday, November 17, 2017, until Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Evolve this special Rockruff and have an adventure in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon together with your Dusk Form Lycanroc!

You’ll be able to get this Rockruff only for Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. Details on the ways to get this special Rockruff will be announced soon, so keep checking back for more information on it and on the upcoming Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon games, launching November 17 for systems in the Nintendo 3DS family.
