Grand Theft Auto Online: Half a Million GTA$ Stimulus Package this Month and Earn Cash Quickly

Given some of the recent technical issues during these first days of GTA Online, and now that things are starting to look much smoother (touch wood!), we are planning to provide a special stimulus package for all who have played or will play Grand Theft Auto Online this month. We will be dropping a cool half a million GTA$ in the GTA Online bank accounts of all players this month, starting as early as next week.

‘Don’t Spend It All in One Place!’

In order to keep the current worldwide in-game economy balanced, we will be providing this GTA$ to players via two deposits of $250,000. We will announce specific dates as soon as possible, but are currently hoping to be able to make the first deposit by the end of next week (after we’ve confirmed that issues causing game progress loss have been fixed) with the second installment to happen by the end of the month. For players who experienced cloud server errors, connection issues, and lost game progress and characters in these first days of GTA Online, we hope this GTA$ helps to facilitate a fresh start or makes your continued life in Los Santos and Blaine County extra sweet.

Below are a few more details on how it will work. Stay tuned for tips on how to make the most of GTA$ cash, info on ways and places to earn more cash fast, as well as updates on all the new GTA Online content additions we’re working on for this fall and beyond.
- You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time during the month of October 2013 in order to qualify for the GTA$500,000 deposit in your in-game bank account.
- Players will first have to install a forthcoming GTAV title update which we expect to happen next week. That title update (1.04) is expected to fix the remaining instances of issues that have caused vehicle purchase loss and will also enable the functionality through which we’ll be providing this GTA$ stimulus cash to players.
- We will announce at the Rockstar Newswire when each deposit is made.
- Each of the two GTA$250,000 deposits will be made by Rockstar and should automatically appear in the in-game GTA Online bank accounts of eligible players. Beyond downloading the forthcoming title update mentioned above, there should not be any additional special action required by eligible players to redeem.
Earn Cash Quickly

If you are ever short of enough cash to do a Job, remember that there are many ways to make quick cash – some more profitable than others.
- Hold Up any of the stores marked on the Radar. If you wear a mask you can avoid being recognised on return visits.
- Simeon often needs specific vehicles for his business – if you can find certain models he will pay for them (check your Texts).
- Non-premium vehicles can be sold to Los Santos Customs.
- Take part in Jobs with other people for bigger rewards, and win competitive events to bag even more cash.
- Armored Trucks are another good way to get cash fast, though you need to invest in Sticky Bombs in order to take them down.

GTA Online third patch released – Violent Duct patched to 3000$ no more Retry possible!

Rockstar North has just launched a new patch (1.03) for GTA V that resolves the XP cash farming issues some players have been exploiting. The patch weighs in at 39MB on PS3 and 59MB on Xbox 360. The patch notes are yet to be revealed.

Xbox One may feature keyboard and mouse support in the future

Attention PC players! This may interest you. In a recent interview with Larry Hyrb, as known ad Major Nelson, he has revealed that the Xbox One could feature keyboard and mouse support if game developers demand it. Moreover, they are even pleased to help with the implementation.

He said:

“We’ll certainly have this great SDK for developers to do what they like,” “If that’s something they’re interested in doing, we’ll certainly help them do that. Certainly it’s possible, but we don’t have anything to announce at this time.”

“We kind of have this concept of when you’re playing a PC game you’re leaning forward“. “With an Xbox game, sometimes you lean back. You’re just kinda having fun. And I don’t want to incite the religious debate that will ensue, because I’m very aware. We want to provide a gaming experience that people enjoy, certainly with Windows–that’s our other large gaming platform at Microsoft.

Easter eggs are the real bonus features of video games. They’re worth hunting down, and are a guilty pleasure of note. But those hidden extras are usually in-game only. Not GTA V though. It’s got something hidden on the map, right out of the box.

It did not take long for the Internet to uncover some of the many secrets in “Grand Theft Auto V.” Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated game was just released, and fans have discovered a hidden message within the blueprint map, included in the special edition of “GTA V,” that can be viewed under a black light.

Reddit user November17R3 provided the photos that led to the “GTA V” easter egg. According to the user, the blueprint map of Los Santos and Blaine County contains instructions to bring $500,000. According to users, the message reads, “T.P.E – Trevor Philips Enterprises. Weaponry, narcotics, intimidation and casual wear. Lago Zan Cudo. Great Ocean, Highway north, through north Chumash, 0.5 miles past Raton Canyon. When guard rail ends, follow the dirt road down the docks. Bring $500,000 cash.” But the search by users has turned up no results.

Lost Planet 3 DLC detailed

Capcom has released three multiplayer map packs as DLC for Lost Planet 3. The content was previously available only as pre-order bonus, but now can be found in the XBLM. Each pack contains two maps.

Map Pack 1 – $4.99

Octagon: In Octagon, NEVEC and the Snow Pirates fight for control over an underground military base. NEVEC must stop the Snow Pirates from sabotaging the secret Akrid testing being done in the nesting rooms. Close quarter combat will have each side fighting for control in deadly circumstances.

Spire: In Spire, NEVEC and Snow Pirates fight for dominance over a key strategic location high above the ground. Seize each control point to exert dominance. Vital Suits are key in this large, open area. Use them to exert power over the other team and face off against the opposing teams Vital Suits in epic battles.

Map Pack 2 – $4.99

Synapse: In Synapse, NEVEC and Snow Pirates have traveled deep into the Nushi interior to come face to face with something never seen before. Fight the large Akrid to take the Thermal Energy canister back to your extraction point. Prevent the opposing team from doing so, or suffer bitter loss.

Inferno: In Inferno, NEVEC and Snow Pirates fight in a hectic, vertical area located in Pickett’s Folly. Danger comes in every facet. Obtain the scattered Thermal Energy and secure it for your team. Prevent the opposing team from doing so by using any means necessary. Grappling and zip line usage are key to winning. Just watch out for the lava.

Map Pack 3 – $4.99

Convoy Chasm: In Convoy Chasm, NEVEC is escorting a battle cat through a mountain pass, carrying vital secrets. As the Snow Pirates learn about this, they ambush the Convoy in the pass. Prevent NEVEC from getting through the Chasm as the Snow Pirates. As NEVEC, get through at all costs. With verticality playing a key role, use whatever means necessary to help your team succeed.

Siege: In Siege, NEVEC and Snow Pirates fight over a military base key to NEVEC’s military operations. As Snow Pirates, break in at all costs, secure the Pure Thermal Energy and get out of there using the air transport as quickly as possible. As NEVEC, prevent the Snow Pirates from their smash and grab tactics and secure the base.

Freedom Fighter Pack – $2.99

Five playable characters for multiplayer modes: Grace Peyton, Phil Braddock, Jenette Diaz, the Lost Contractor, LP1 Gale Holden, HUNK

Punisher Pack – $2.99

Incinerator (Particle Thrower Variant): This improved version delivers greater range and damage than its predecessor, but with less accuracy and a tendency to overheat rapidly. The particle beam can set targets on fire.

NEVEC Punisher (Pulse Rifle): A NEVEC military division pulse rifle that sends out bursts of fire at an extremely fast pace.

Spit-Fire (Grenade Launcher Variant): This modified grenade launcher shoots out Fire Wasp “projectiles” instead of grenades as its default ammo type. These also cause splash damage on impact.

Assault Pack – $2.99

Assault Shotgun: A NEVEC specialized version of the normal Shotgun, this prototype weapon has semi-automatic fire allowing for a faster delivery of damage

Customized Pneumatic Injector Gun: An improved variant of the Pneumatic Injector Gun. Although it features a slower rate of fire and requires more frequent reloads, it does more damage per bullet

Destructeur (LaRoche’s Assault Rifle): Variant of the Assault Rifle that has a slower rate of fire but does more damage than the standard NEVEC-issued version

GTA V to make another $437 million from DLC and microtransactions

Digital goods research firm Superdata today revealed its projections for the success of that effort, saying it expects Take-Two to bring in $206 million of additional digital sales in the game’s first 12 months.

About $165 million of that total is expected to be taken up by downloadable content packs. While Rockstar hasn’t fully detailed its DLC strategy yet, Superdata’s figure assumed two add-on releases within the next year. The remaining $41 million will be accounted for by microtransactions, sales of virtual currency that can be used to purchase new equipment within the game.

Over an expected five-year lifespan, GTA V was projected to bring in $93 million in microtransactions, and $344 million for DLC purchases for a digital sales of secondary content total of $437 million. While considerable, it would still fall far short of the game’s retail haul. Take-Two confirmed that GTA V generated more than $1 billion in sales in its first three days on sale.

Superdata noted that the microtransaction model is still unproven for major retail releases, and said the player base for GTA V may still be unfamiliar with the practice. Additionally, because the microtransactions will be optional tools to speed up progress rather than hard and fast roadblocks to progress, Superdata expects a smaller percentage of players will wind up being converted to purchasing customers than would be seen in a typical free-to-play hit.

„This isn’t the game’s next billion dollars, as some have supposed microtransactions will make Take-Two,“ Superdata said, adding, „It is, however, a successful foray into the microtransaction world for a console title. Games like Borderlands 2, though with an admittedly smaller player base, saw just over $10M in total digital content revenues in its first year.“

GRAPHICS ENGINE!

The team has settled on the engine that will power Mighty No. 9, and it isunreal…no, we mean literally, it’s the Unreal Engine from Epic!

For those of you who might not know, this is the engine that built its reputation pushing the cutting-edge graphics in AAA blockbusters like Mass Effect, Bioshock Infinite, Infinity Blade and of course Gears of War — no slouches in the looks department, any of them, right?

Of course, just choosing an engine doesn’t mean our game will look like any of those — and in fact, it won’t, because we will have our own, unique graphical style we are going for with Mighty No. 9 — but it does mean our developers will have access to tools that can push the fidelity, lighting, and overall look of Mighty No. 9 to among the best gaming has to offer!

It also means our team can spend less time worrying about technical mumbo-jumbo, and more time focused on things that really matter to a game like this — like the feel of the controls, the style of a character’s animation, the atmosphere of a level, the balance of Beck’s transformations — the important stuff!

In fact, check out this super-short, super-rough engine test Inti Creates made in just seven days to see if Unreal would be viable for Mighty No. 9. GTA V Online is released!

It’s coming, it’s coming! Rockstar has confirmed that the services for GTA Online on GTA V will be active starting at 12pm GMT (1 pm in Europe), 4am Pacific and 7am Eastern. The activation will require a small title update on your platform.

According to Rockstar’s Newswire:

Access to Grand Theft Auto Online is free with your copy of Grand Theft Auto V.

On October 1st there will be a small downloadable Title Update released on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE. Upon installation of that Title Update, direct access to begin GTA Online will be unlocked in your GTAV game menu. You will be able to jump right into GTA Online via the 4th (bottom) slot in your GTAV character wheel.

We’ve received many questions asking for a specific confirmation of what exact time GTA Online will be available but of course this is contingent on both Title Updates becoming available on each console’s network.

- Some people who’ve been playing through Grand Theft Auto V’s Story Mode have been inquiring how the narrative of GTA Online correlates or crosses over. Grand Theft Auto Online is set a few months prior to the events of Grand Theft Auto V’s single player story.
Home and Garage Security
- There’s plenty of havoc and treachery you can cause out in the open world of course, but in order to prevent some really annoying “griefing”, we’ve designed house party invitations specifically to be a friendly social affair where players can visit each other’s pads without fear of having them ruined or losing their hard-earned vehicles in the process. If someone invites you into their property, then it is considered a friendly visit and you will not be able to shoot up their place or steal their cars from their garage. By the way, in any given lobby, if you and another player own the same piece of property, you will each be able to enter your own personal instance of that property at any given time. You will also be able to enter each other’s instance of that property if you exchange and accept an invite. This way, multiple instances of ownership of the same property within a lobby can co-exist.
GTA$ and Fair Play
- To allay some concerns we’ve heard on this subject, we can assure you that the game is designed such that the option of purchasable GTA$ should not disrupt the playing field – and there are a few mechanics in place to help ensure that. All players still have to rank up with Reputation Points (RP) in order to get access to purchase high-end items. No one can begin GTA Online and simply spend a lot of money out of the gate to get a leg up. You will have to earn your stripes and play to unlock access to the aspirational clothes, guns and other items. Please also remember that in GTA Online, hustling to afford the finer things by earning GTA$ doing robberies, stick-ups, winning races and other profitable activities is a fun gameplay experience rather than ever being a ‘grind’. As we mentioned on Wednesday, we will constantly tweak all areas of the game to make it play fairer and iron out any balancing problems (while fixing all the other problems we encounter!), but we really need your help in figuring out what those issues are. So please work with us on that!
An Ever-Growing Collection of Jobs
- Grand Theft Auto Online is a long-term GTA experience that you can expect to be built-upon, to grow and to evolve in many ways in the coming weeks, months and beyond. As part of that, there will be a massive amount of Jobs available to play over time as we will be regularly adding new ones for you to enjoy. Additionally, you will soon be helping to add content to the game world yourselves, by creating custom Race and Deathmatch Jobs through the Content Creator tool which we plan to release this fall. The Character Creation System
- The hereditary-based character creation system of Grand Theft Auto Online allows for a multitude of options to create your avatar that will then inhabit the online world of Los Santos & Blaine County. Choose your gender then decide on your mother and father. From there, you can choose to give one parent genetic dominance or leave them more evenly matched. The choice is yours. Next, you adjust a set of lifestyle variables which help determine your character’s appearance and starting stats. Decide how much sleep he/she gets, how much partying they indulge in, how much honest work versus illegal activity, and more. Essentially, you can adjust the genetics to wind up with a fresh faced lad or lass or a grizzled, haggard degenerate or anywhere in between! You’ll also be able to preview your end result in real time all throughout to ensure you’re satisfied before putting your character on a direct flight to LS. Of course, once you’re out and about in the open world, you can further customize your character with haircuts, clothing and accessories to suit your tastes.

- In Grand Theft Auto Online, Social Club members get access to weaponry and vehicular unlocks, a whole new suite of Crew features to represent and coordinate with your squad, and special tools to get the most out of Rockstar Jobs and user-created Jobs when the Content Creator tool launches this fall.
