  • PS4 voucher code redemption is working again

PS4 voucher code redemption is working again

    Reading Time: 2 minutes

Good news people, it seems that the Voucher redemption functionality that was disabled this last Friday was activated again. Check out Sony’s official blog post update:

    icon_xl

UPDATE 3 (9.09pm GMT, 1st December): We have been working on the PSN service roll-out throughout the weekend and are continually increasing the availability of the voucher redemption functionality. The next phase of the roll out is to introduce the What’s New Activity Feed and Live Item in the Content Information Screen, which we will be able to update you on tomorrow. Thank you for your continued patience as we manage PSN to restore full service.

UPDATE 2 (9.22pm GMT, 30th November): Users will be aware that core network stability has returned throughout today and we are beginning the next phase of PSN service roll-out e.g. users will soon be able to progressively see the content info area for game titles. Voucher redemption continues to be controlled in order to cope with volume. We will have an update tomorrow. Thank you for your patience as we manage PSN to restore full service.

UPDATE 1 (11.22am GMT, 30th November): We are making progress in identifying the source of the current PSN disruption. Currently sign up, sign in, trials, store, online gameplay, share and community functionality is available. Redeem voucher is still not open to users. Further updates will be posted later today.

ORIGINAL POST: We are aware that users are experiencing some disruption to the PSN service. To minimise the inconvenience we have suspended the “redeem voucher” functionality whilst we investigate further. Unfortunately this means that money cards, product vouchers, PlayStation Plus vouchers, PS3-PS4 upgrade vouchers and any other vouchers for digital content are not redeemable at this stage. Other PSN features such as log-in, online multi-player gaming, PlayStation Plus trial, PS Store (excluding voucher redemption), trophies, messages, friends etc. are all available.

We apologise and will provide an update to this announcement soon.

  • WB apologizes for Batman: Arkham Origins‘ game-breaking bugs

WB apologizes for Batman: Arkham Origins‘ game-breaking bugs

    Reading Time: 3 minutes

That’s right, Batman: Arkham Origins was released in a state that for some players rendered it unplayable.

Warner Bros. Games Montreal is well aware of the issues, apologized and promised „major fixes“ „within the next week.“

    icon_xl

Here’s the official statement posted on the game’s forums, which also outlines all the major bugs on all platforms (it looks like they won’t solve all of them):

    „Hello,

We’d like to sincerely thank everyone who has joined us since the launch of the game. We appreciate the fan support and also want to thank all the people in the field who have sent us their saved games as they have been invaluable in helping us identify the problems.

It has come to our attention that there are issues that are negatively impacting the experience for some players. The team has been working around the clock to review, validate and pinpoint the problems that have been reported and we have identified three main issues which we are tackling first, and are listed below. For these issues, we expect the software update to be available within the next week. Rest assured, we are continuing to monitor all channels for other issues that players are experiencing and will release additional updates as they become available.

    1) Infinite Falling/Falling Out Of World – All platforms

Some players have been stuck in an endless loop of falling, making it impossible to complete certain missions and progress through the single-player campaign. We believe we have identified the issue and are currently testing the software update, which will push most players back to their previous save so that they will not be stuck in an infinite loop.

    2) Unable To Continue Story – All Platforms

Some players can see their story progress in the main menu, but once they choose the story slot they don’t see an option to “Continue” and only “New Game” shows up. This issue should be resolved and the “Continue” option will once again be available.

    3) FreeFlow Focus mode not unlocking upon reaching “Shadow Vigilante” rank 3 will be fixed – All Platforms

Specific to the PC, an update that addresses the above issues, as well as the following, recently went live:

    1) Fix for progression blocker keeping some players from navigating through the vent in the Burnley tower.

We have not yet solved the following rare issues and are continuing to investigate.

    1) Corrupted Saves – Xbox 360 only

Players have reported losing their saved game to data corruption. Specifically, when you try to choose a story slot to continue, it says “Corrupted” and if you select it, an error message appears which says, “The save is corrupt. Please delete it.” We believe we know what is causing this and need a few more days to validate before pushing a patch through.

    2) Ongoing Crashing/Freezing Issues – Xbox 360 only

Players have reported recurring crashing and freezing while playing the game. We have been working hard to track down and resolve the problem as quickly as possible. We believe we know what is causing these issues and need a few more days to validate before pushing this patch through. In the meantime, some players have managed to avoid the freezing by disconnecting their console from the Internet while playing.

NOTE: Your console or PC must be connected to the Internet in order to receive any updates. When connected, the updates will be automatically applied when you start up the game while connected to PlayStation Network, Xbox Live or Steam.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank you all for your patience as we work to resolve the issues.“

Arkham Origins released worldwide on the PlayStation 3, Wii U, Windows PC and Xbox 360 on October 25.

    Killzone: Mercenary receives another update

    Reading Time: 2 minutes

New update for Killzone: Mercenary on Vita released. This second patch targets connectivity issues and improves game stability but requires at least 1190 MB of free space for the installation.

According to the official Killzone Blog:

Hi everyone. We are very pleased to announce the launch of Killzone: Mercenary patch 2.

Firstly, we need to start off with the bad news. You’ll see that the patch size is similar to that of the previous patch and you will need a spare 1190MB in order to download it. When this new patch installs, the first patch will essentially be deleted, but you will need the extra space initially. This download is necessary in order to pave the way for future planned revisions to the game.

We are currently investigating solutions to reduce the overall size of the title and free up more of your valuable memory card space. We hope to be able to share more news on that work very soon.

The main focus for patch 2 has been targeting some of the connectivity issues that have been experienced over the last month. We’re hoping that many of you who were previously unable to connect into the community will now be able to enjoy the game to its fullest.

The other main area of work has been to provide a better distribution of respawn points across all game modes. The intention here is to give a better balance to the multiplayer games. We’ve also addressed the issue that some of you were reporting with load-out slots not being unlocked, in addition to problems with the melee medal (which was always being awarded as a „bronze“). Finally, there are also a number of stability fixes, to address some of the crashes that have been reported.

Please note that our previous workaround information regarding connectivity is now redundant and it’s recommended that any steps you may have followed in order to connect should now be reverted.
