Can’t wait to get a look at PS5 graphics? You’re not alone. A lot of gamers have been asking a lot of questions about the specs and capabilities of the PlayStation 5. So far, Sony has not offered a lot of answers. But now, we may have just gotten a look at what we can expect as far as graphical capabilities — and it is pretty impressive.
According to a report, during the Inter BEE (International Broadcast Equipment Exhibition) 2018 event in Tokyo, visitors got to see something rather tantalizing. The event is basically like CES (Consumer Electronics Show) but focuses more on professional equipment used in the video production industry.
On the event, the ultra-high-end CLEDIS (Crystal LED Display System) was featured. It’s a massive 440-inch screen with a near-180 degree viewing angle capable of 8K video output at 120FPS.
There, a 12-second stunning Grand Turismo 8K/120FPS footage was featured on the massive screen. This is the clip that was shown.
The report notes that watching this YouTube video compared to watching it on the CLEDIS offers two different experiences. Only watching it at the CLEDIS will you get to see the stunning visuals.
But What Does This Video Got To Do With The PS5?
Well, Gran Turismo creator and Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi made an interesting comment last year. During an interview, the CEO said that the assets that are being created for GT Sport are over-specced even for the PS4 Pro and thinks that it won’t be a problem to run it at 8K.
“It takes six months to create a single car. It’s over-specced for PS4 Pro. So we are building for future versions of the console rather than the one we see today. I think it would be no problem to run it at 8K even.”
By the end of 2018, a new proposal to a European Union Directive might pass that could limit you from sharing content and earning a livelihood — not just on Twitch, but on the internet at large. It’s called Article 13, and even if this is your first time hearing about it, it’s not too late to do something.
You and your communities have worked hard to build this incredible place, and it’s worth protecting. The fallout from Article 13 isn’t limited to creators in the European Union. Everyone stands to lose if content coming out of and going into the region is throttled. So we’re writing to all of you — every creator on Twitch — to make sure you’re informed about what’s happening. If you share our concerns about Article 13, we’re also including a list of ways you can help us fight against it. We know amazing things are possible when Twitch bands together. A little bit more of that magic right now could go a long way.
What’s happened so far?
Recently, the European Parliament voted in favor of an amendment to the Copyright Directive that is intended to limit how copyrighted content is shared across online services. While we support reform and rights holders’ ability to be compensated for their work, we believe Article 13’s approach does needless damage to creators and to free expression on the internet worldwide.
If you’re looking for more, this website provides a thorough rundown of Article 13.
Why are we concerned?
Article 13 changes the dynamic of how services like Twitch have to operate, to the detriment of creators.
Because Article 13 makes Twitch liable for any potential copyright infringement activity with uploaded works, Twitch could be forced to impose filters and monitoring measures on all works uploaded by residents of the EU. This means you would need to provide copyright ownership information, clearances, or take other steps to prove that you comply with thorny and complicated copyright laws. Creators would very likely have to contend with the false positives associated with such measures, and it would also limit what content we can make available to viewers in the EU.
Operating under these constraints means that a variety of content would be much more difficult to publish, including commentary, criticism, fan works, and parodies. Communities and viewers everywhere would also suffer, with fewer viewer options for entertainment, critique, and more.
What can you do?
The European Parliament could finalize the proposal to the Directive within the next several weeks. It’s crucial to lend our voice to this issue, as well as educate the community and empower action today.
At risk are your livelihood and your ability to share your talent and experiences with the world. If you are a resident of the EU or a concerned member of the creator community elsewhere, we ask that you consider the following:
Speak out: inform and educate your community during a broadcast of the issues with the European Union’s approach to copyright law and motivate folks to take an interest on this topic. Be sure to title your streams #Article13.
Although this issue is timely in the European Union, similar conversations are taking place in other countries. Wherever and however this issue arises, we will continue to advocate for you, our creators. We hope you’ll join us.
The Xbox Two reportedly codenamed as “Scarlett” or “Scarlet” is expected to be this next big console from Microsoft to rival against Sony’s upcoming next-gen hardware. With that, both the gaming community and tech enthusiasts alike are all excited for Microsoft’s future console and are wondering about its release date, price tag, specs, and features.
So When Is It Coming Out?
First revealed by Thurrott, the Xbox Two Scarlett is reportedly going to be released in 2020. Meanwhile, one article even speculates that it could be released on November 15, 2020, or perhaps sooner.
Coincidentally, this is the same year that Sony’s PlayStation 5 (PS5) is also expected to be released. Sure, there were also reports suggesting that it could be released in 2019, while back in May, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Tsuyoshi Kodera stated that it would be another three years before PlayStation made its next big move, which means that the PS5 won’t arrive until at least 2021 – Segment Next even reported that it could be in March. But despite all that, the most popular belief is that the PS5 is estimated to come in 2020.
So What Will Be Its Price Tag?
According to a report from Dexerto, the Xbox Two is estimated to feature a similar price tag of the PS5. The next-gen Sony hardware is rumored to feature a price tag of $500.
So What Will Be Its Specs?
Again from Dexerto, given that the Xbox Two expected to rival the PS5, it is expected to at least carry the same capabilities. Apparently, Sony’s next-gen hardware will have the power to run 4K/60fps.
It Will Have A Lineup Of Amazing Games?
Last week, YouTuber boogie2988 shared a rumor regarding the Xbox Two’s games. The YouTuber recounts his conversation with Xbox Corporate Vice President Mike Ybarra. Apparently, Xbox started writing blank checks to their game studios, asking them to make game titles of their “wildest dreams”.
Speaking of studios, yesterday we reported about a leak from Twitter-user Klobrille (@klobrille). According to the leak, Microsoft is currently “in active talks” with other studios (both big and small) to bolster up its lineup of potential Xbox and Windows 10 developers.
Are you excited about the Xbox Two? Tell us in the comment section below.
The team behind the game still think about what the next version of the game should be and when will it be released. There are many rumors on the internet, some say it will make its appearance next year, some that it will be released in 2020, or sometime later, perhaps in 2022. Whatever the date, the rumors will still surface, and speculation will be everywhere, about the characters and the gameplay.
Other people keep asking about is the time when GTA 6 will be framed in. It’s worth mentioning that there have been some political thoughts that came as a reaction to the last game, GTA 5, that reflected the American society in a certain way – some people were not very pleased with this idea.
Will the company make the right decision?
There were some suggestions about the effect of the gameplay. The elements on the next game may be done with a certain motif in mind, that might be more evocative of the 1970s’ USA, rather than what they’re going with right now. Both Democrats and Republicans were not happy with it, so the team behind the game might play safe for their next game, and may leave out controversy of all kinds.
There’s another theory that says that South America will be the prominent idea of the game, but other parts of the USA, such as Vice City, will still be in the picture. Some even believe that the entire country will appear on the map.
A female main character
It’s been also said that there will be a female protagonist. Opinions are everywhere at this moment, but some sources say that they won’t leave out this idea, because it has true importance to the main theme and the storyline.
Rockstar May Want to Play it Safe
It is in this context that there are suggestions to the effect the gameplay elements onGTA 6 may be designed with a motif that is more reminiscent of the USA of the 1970s rather than the current scenario. Since the earlier criticism cut across the left and the right, that is both the Republicans and the Democrats seem to be unhappy, the game’s developers may simply steer clear of the controversy of any kind. There is also the theory that while South America will figure prominently, parts of the US, particularly the Vice City will be strongly depicted. Some go to the extent of saying the whole of the US might be covered in the gameplay.
Other Factors Have Been Talked About Before
The other frequently raised point on what’s new with GTA 6 is the introduction of a female protagonist. Here again, views from either extreme have been expressed but some sources seem to indicate that while Rockstar is not averse to the idea of adding a female character, it will weigh the overall context of the game and only if the main theme and story-line are not affected this change will be made. This area has been seen to be quite sensitive and disturbing it would be the last thing Rockstar would do.
Much of these details here are still in the realm of speculation.

Simple front-end Extension working without a back-end
Technology shouldn’t stifle your creativity. We want you to spend time realizing your great ideas, not on the infrastructure to make them work. Until now, developers had to build out — and scale — all parts of their Extension backend, even for common scenarios like handling channel- and Extension-specific configuration. That’s why we built theConfiguration Service.
The Configuration Service enables you to store persistent per-channel and per-Extension specific data, and have it provided to your front-end on Extension start up. This is a common pattern needed for most Extensions, and in the past, developers would need to build this themselves. With the Config Service, developers can quickly support scenarios like enabling broadcasters to customize your Extension, store UserIDs to call third-party APIs from your Extension back-end service, or save Extension-wide settings. More importantly, you don’t need to expose your backend to the frontend on initial load, reducing your need to scale.
Sample Extensions using Configuration Service and Extension back-end Service
The Config Service is one of the first of our Scaling Solutions and it’s not a panacea, but it does reduce the complexity of building an Extension backend, because developers shouldn’t need to build for and scale a very common scenario. You can focus more on bringing your ideas to life. That’s certainly what Casperr is excited about.
Casperr has been a web developer for six years, but in his free time, he likes to build things that relate to streaming and gaming. He was already using the Twitch API to experiment, so when Extensions were announced, he got right to work.
“I saw Extensions as a way to integrate concepts I was already working on more easily. I wanted to see if it could be helpful for the community.”
That’s where most of Casperr’s Extension ideas come from. “Most of my Extensions are just things that I thought would be useful. My first Extension was for a notification about latest followers. My stream is tiny, so a new follower is a huge deal,” Casperr said.
For Casperr, while generating revenue is a nice bonus, Extensions are about personal development and the fulfillment of creating something that is useful for the Twitch community.
While Extensions and the Twitch API helped Casperr get started bringing his ideas to life, he hit a pretty big roadblock right away. To build a Twitch Extension, developers needed to build and operate the backend. “I’m a full-stack developer, but setting up the backend put me off some of my next ideas.” For instance, Casperr wanted to develop a Twitter feed, but someone would have to approve the handle and he couldn’t do that without building the server and database.
The Configuration Service was built to help developers just like Casperr.
In mid-November, Casperr launched a new Extension implementing the Config Service: Featured Viewer.
“This one was exciting for me, because it was one that I had the idea for all the way back when I first considered building a Bits-enabled Extension, but held off because I wasn’t comfortable doing the back-end work required. Now with Config Service, I was able to build it with no worries!”
The premise of the Extension is that a viewer exchanges Bits to become a “Featured Viewer” on the channel of the streamer with the Extension installed. This could either be as a means to advertise their own channel, or simply to showcase themselves as a super fan. The Featured Viewer is displayed for 10 minutes, so the metadata about that viewer has to be stored somewhere in order to serve it to all the other viewers who are watching the broadcast at the time of the transaction and those who joined the stream sometime during those 10 minutes.
Without the Config Service, Casperr said he would have likely needed to design and build a relational database with multiple tables and records for every single streamer with the Extension installed, write to it on every transaction, and read from it on every single page view. “While this may be a relatively simple database application, it is not an area I have much experience in,” Casperr said.
With the Config Service, Casperr can store a very simple JSON string in the Config Service itself, which is specific to the streamer’s channel so no fiddling with relationships was required. After 10 minutes, rather than delete the data, Casperr simply stops displaying it. When a new Featured Viewer comes along, the config is overwritten and a PubSub message is sent so all viewers current and future will see the new Featured Viewer.
Casperr does still have to use an Extension Backend Service (EBS)to verify the transaction, update the config (as the initiation of config update comes from a viewer as opposed to broadcaster), and send the PubSub message. However, the Config Service took away his personal concerns of database architecting.
Casperr is next planning to upgrade hisLatest Followers Extension to have monetized features and use theConfig Service to give users the option to toggle features on or off, so that feature will use just the JavaScript API without needing to send any calls from the backend.
With Config Service, Casperr is able to bring his ideas to life easier and faster — and you can, too!
There are a few ways that you can get started with the Configuration Service.
Gather around, Sony fans. We have two new exciting details for all of you. Firstly, graphics-wise, we may just have had a glimpse of what games could look like on the PlayStation 5 (PS5) platform. The other new detail is that the PS5 could launch alongside the Bloodborne 2.
The Stunning Visuals
The PS5 is expected to be this monster device that will take the gaming experience to a new height. With that, tech enthusiasts are wondering what kind of experience it will offer, like its game graphics and other things.
Bloodborne 2 Coming In 2020?
It’s been 3 years since FromSoftware released the gothic, Victorian era-inspired action role-playing game Bloodborne, and fans have been asking for a sequel for it.
Back in 2016, FromSoftware President Hidetaka Miyazaki told GGN Gamer that they had no plans at the moment for any sequels, spin-offs or tie-ins for Dark Souls and Bloodborne. However, he did say that he was open to the possibility of doing sequels.
Fast forward to the present, the company released Déraciné last month, which is a VR game. What’s interesting about this game is that it’s filled with Easter eggs referencing Bloodborne.
Check out this video by VaatiVidya (who by the way currently has 1.2m subscribers) discussing the Easter eggs.
Thanks to this, this could be FromSoftware hinting that a prequel/sequel to the current Bloodborne game may be coming. Furthermore, it is speculated that the PS5 could launch alongside Bloodborne 2. And given that the PS5 is estimated to be released in 2020, that may be the year that we will see the Bloodborne 2.
How amazing do you think the PS5’s visuals will be? Also, do you think Déraciné is a sign from FromSoftware hinting that it Bloodborne 2 is coming? Tell us in the comment section below.
The Grand Theft Auto VI (aka GTA 6 or GTA VI) is expected to be RockStar Games’ next game after releasing Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) and its multiplayer version – Red Dead Online. However, we’re not expecting the game to come anytime soon. In fact, according to some reports, it could be out as late as 2022.
But for this article, we’ll be reviewing rumors that we’ve been hearing in the past. Firstly, GTA 6 may choose a 1970s dateline to avoid trouble. The other rumor is that the game could feature the entire U.S.
Is Choosing A 1970s Dateline Safe?
The rumor that GTA 6 could be in the 1970s has been going on for years – probably as early as 2014 if we’re going to consider this source as the earliest.
Today, one of the reasons that RockStar may choose a 1970s dateline for the GTA 6 is because of today’s political climate. In fact, back in October, Rockstar Games’ co-founder Dan Houser expressed his relief that GTA 6 wasn’t happening during Trump’s divided America.
Today in the US, social issues, cultural stereotypes and politics are sensitive topics to talk about. If you’re not careful enough or you expressed it at an inappropriate moment, it can lead you into serious trouble. And with GTA series, it’s basically filled with satire. It features offensive jokes, themes, and vice. So it does make sense that Houser is relieved that the game wasn’t released this year because they will be facing backlash after backlash.
But will it make any difference though? Will the political climate be okay after Trump’s term? What if it will be just the same or even worse? Will Rockstar delay the game if that happens?
But in regards to the 1970s dateline, if RockStar will choose this, then in some way it does also make a bit of sense. Seeing the success of RDR2 and the game’s timeline, it may be a “safer”… probably.
Sure, some may argue that RDR2’s timeline and the supposed GTA 6’s 1970s timeline are miles apart so it doesn’t make sense to compare the two. However, they both have one thing in common – the past. Since both of them happened in the past, in case people will attack the game due to social issues or whatever, the company can more or less argue, “This is how things were in the past and this is simply a representation of it. Do you want us to change it drastically to fit today’s PC culture?” We all know what happened to EA’s Battlefield 5.
However, there will be another issue: Will the fans like it, the 1970s setting? You know how passionate the fans can be – they’re like a double-edged sword.
Will Include The Entire US Map?
Another rumor that we’ve been hearing is that GTA 6 could feature the entire US map. And if we’re going to look at how long this rumor has been circulating, it’s probably around 2015 if we’re going to consider this article as the earliest.
So, what are the chances of this happening? Well, although we can’t say for sure, there’s a chance that it could happen if we consider what Rockstar did with RDR2. The game’s map is huge… really huge.
Take a look at this map comparison photo between GTA 5 and RDR2’s map. It’s at least 3 GTA 5 maps combined. With it, players have so many things do, so many people to meet, and so many places to explore.
The GTA series is one of Rockstar’s most beloved franchises. It would be strange if it won’t receive the same effort that the company has poured over RDR2. So even if GTA 6 won’t feature the entire map of the US, we’re at least expecting that it will have a really huge map.
So When Is GTA 6 Expected To Come?
According to a report, GTA 6 may eventually be announced in 2020. However, for its release, this is where things get a bit complicated. We’ve already mentioned earlier that some reports suggest that the game could be out as late as 2022. However, others also say that 2022 is the earliest and that it could be extended until 2026.
Are you okay with GTA 6 set in the 1970s? What do you think are the chances of it featuring the entire US map? Tell us in the comment section below.
Well, that may have all changed right now. It seems that a quick 12-second video may have been leaked showing the graphics performance of the PlayStation 5. Take a look at this video below that shows Gran Turismo in 8K and 120 fps or frames per second.
Sony attended the Inter BEE conference in Tokyo recently. Not familiar with it? You can compare it to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) which takes place in Las Vegas.
At the conference, Sony showcased their cutting-edge Crystal LED Display System (CLEDIS). CLEDIS boasts 120 FPS and 8K on a screen measuring a whopping 440 inches (prompting the product tagline, “go big or go bigger”). Above, you can check out again the footage they displayed on the CLEDIS.
Keep in mind that it looked more impressive in real-life. After all, this is a recording, so it has lost some quality. Plus, you are watching it on your regular monitor, which lacks the capabilities of the CLEDIS.
The footage sure looks like Grand Turismo. Curiously enough, a few months back, Creator Kazunori Yamauchi reportedly said, “It takes six months to create a single car. It’s over-specced for PS4 Pro. So we are building for future versions of the console rather than the one we see today. I think it would be no problem to run it at 8K even.”
So does that mean that what we saw at the conference in Tokyo was a demonstration of what the PS5 will be capable of? It seems possible at this point. Hopefully, we will be hearing something solid from Sony about the next-gen console soon. Make sure you are keeping up with all of our PlayStation updates so you do not miss anything.

PlayStation has been one of the most well-known console brands, from the time of the PS1’s release. The PS4 is the most recent iteration, launched way back in 2013. Both Xbox and Playstation follow a 6-7 year release cycle so a new release is due soon enough.
First Look At PS5’s Prototype
Given how well the current gen consoles held up, some of us can’t wait to know what Sony and Microsoft will bring next.
PS5 Prototype Source – Rozetked
Rozetked, a website well known for their Pixel 3 leaks just got hold of images of an early prototype of the PS5.
Rozetked stated that they got the pictures from an anonymous source and can’t vouch for its authenticity. But nevertheless it doesn’t hurt to take a closer look.
Familiar Design Philosophy
PS5 Prototype Source – Rozetked
If this is indeed a real prototype, it seems Sony’s core design philosophy hasn’t changed. We did see a lot of sci-fi illustrations, but design has to be practical and this seems like one.
Dimensions can’t be judged properly from a picture, but the unit seems big with many vents for air passage. This might hint towards significant hardware under the hood. When the PS4 and Xbox One released, some developers weren’t very happy with the hardware, fearing it might be a limiting factor in coming years. CDprojektRed even stated “Developing only for the PC: yes, probably we could get more [in terms of graphics] as there would be nothing else – they would be so focused, like if we would develop only on Xbox One or PlayStation 4. But then we cannot afford such a game.”
Hardware
The next iteration of the PS5 might not be limited by mediocre hardware as reports suggest the presence of a eight-core Ryzen chip with Zen+ architecture (Like the 2700X) and a Vega GPU.
Price And Other Features
Rozetked’s source suggests that the retail price might be around $500 USD, which is similar to the pricing of the Xbox One X. They even suggest a new naming scheme stating “An insider under the nickname RuthenicCookie previously reported that in the name of the console, the Arabic numeral will be replaced by the Roman. So the title could be Sony PlayStation V.”
PS5 Prototype Source – Rozetked
Apparently the prototype of the PS5 can boot into the bootloader, but there’s no familiar interface due to the lack of an official firmware, which might be in development.
This might not end up being the PS5, but it gives us a pretty good idea of Sony’s approach to the upcoming PS5’s design.
Do you want to help build the future of live entertainment, but don’t know where to start? Or have you been wanting to build a Twitch Extension, but just need an extra push? Today, we’re announcing a challenge that might be just the motivation you need.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Twitch are working together to launch the Twitch Extension Challenge powered by AWS. To enter, all you have to do is build a Twitch Extension and integrate with any AWS service!
An Extension is an interactive experience that works as a stream overlay or as a panel on a channel. Streamers activate Extensions to further connect with their viewers and provide new ways to engage, such as leaderboards, mini-games, polls, and much more.
We will be selecting eight winning Extensions based on the criteria outlined below. The grand prize includes cash awards up to $15,000, tickets to TwitchCon 2019, and even meetings with Twitch leadership to talk through your ideas.
The challenge is three months, running until February 26, 2019. While that may seem like plenty of time to submit your Extension, you can get started now! If you’re not already a Twitch developer, check out these five reasons why you should become one today:
Twitch has a large, highly engaged viewership with 15 million daily active users and 355 billion minutes watched in 2017. This means there is a high potential to get a lot of visibility building on Twitch.
With millions of people gathering on Twitch every day, developers have the opportunity to create new ways to consume and contribute to live programming with Twitch Extensions.
We’re seeing lots of enthusiasm for Extensions from our community of viewers and chatters. Since launch, just over a year ago, people have interacted with Extensions over 4.9 BILLION times.
There’s a full set of developer tools for Extensions, enabling developers to build these immersive experiences easily and quickly.
Developers can monetize on Twitch. Bits-in-Extensions enables viewers to show support to the streamer, enhance gameplay, or express themselves. Streamers and developers share the revenue generated from these Bits.
There’s apparently a teenage hacker on PlayStation 4 that is disconnecting players from PSN if they “disrespect him.” In other words, welcome to the wonderful world of gaming in 2018.
A teenager who goes by “SpangeBaab” on PSN (one of many names/accounts), apparently wields some wizardry and has the ability to disconnect whoever he likes from PSN, whenever.
Taking to Reddit, user DowntownReaper shared a run-in with the hacker, which began after said hacker reportedly joined he and his friend’s party and began making random noises. He was quickly kicked. Following this, he proceeded to rejoin the party multiple times, and every time he got kicked he apparently permanently disconnected a party member from PSN.
According to the Reddit user, none of his friends who were in the party have been able to reconnect to PSN since this happened.
Looking into the story, outlet MP1ST found SpangeBaab’s profile, which seemingly confirms he’s indeed the hacker the Reddit user claims he is.
As you can see, disrespect equals disconnect. And something tells me he’s been disrespected quite a bit to indulge in such a holy crusade.
If you’re wondering how the hacker is able to do this, it’s because voice chat is peer-to-peer, meaning all you need to do is inspect the network packets in order to learn someone’s IP address, which then allows for you to ban them.
In order to remedy the “disconnect,” a user likely would have to set up a new network connection and set new IP’s manually.
As you may know, these type of DDOS attacks are sadly not very uncommon on PS4 and other gaming systems. While Sony and Microsoft haven’t gotten better at preventing and managing widespread attacks, this type of stuff is way more common than it should be. That said, a fix for this specific issue likely won’t be coming anytime soon, because in order to make sure this doesn’t happen, the platform holder would have to have global servers to host all voice sessions, and that would be incredibly expensive.
At the moment of writing this, the account of SpangeBaab is now being “moderated.” Of course, this should all be taken with a grain of salt, but it’s probably not a bad idea to block the above-pictured user whose description warns of disconnecting people for disrespecting.
What PS5 games have been announced? What PS5 games have been rumoured? In this guide, we’re going to list every PS5 game that we know of ahead of the console’s release, which is probably going to happen within the next couple of years. Status: Announced for PS4, but likely cross-gen with PS5
EA’s “Destiny killer” is due out in February 2019 on PlayStation 4, but if the company wants a constantly evolving game, then it’s going to need to make the jump to next-gen at some point. We’re fully expecting ANTHEM to carry over to the PS5 alongside other service-based titles via enhanced editions and the like.
Status: Announced for PS4, but given scope of game and development progress, a PS5 release seems likely
CD Projekt Red’s next role-playing experience has already wowed with a lengthy gameplay demo, and expectations are sky high after The Witcher 3. The Polish developer has stated numerous times that Cyberpunk 2077 is bound for the PS4, but given that the game is reportedly still a while off, we can definitely see it releasing as a cross-gen title. Besides, the sheer ambition on display suggests that Cyberpunk 2077 has already given us a glimpse of what an open world PS5 game could be.
Status: Announced for PS4, but given development progress, an additional PS5 release seems feasible
It’s a bit mad to think that we still don’t know an awful lot about Death Stranding. Sony’s placed a lot of faith in iconic developer Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions, and it’s clearly willing to give the studio the time that it needs to ensure Death Stranding’s quality. However, given the game’s production cycle thus far, it’s not too much of a jump to assume that it’ll appear on PS5 in some form.
Status: Announced for PS4, but given development progress, an additional PS5 release seems plausible
Like Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima’s release window is up for debate. We don’t quite know how far into development the game is, and so a PS5 version, whether it’s a cross-gen launch or an enhanced edition that hits after the PS4 release, seems feasible. Again, this one is dependent on developer Sucker Punch and Sony’s management of the project, but we’re willing to bet that a lot of these later PS4 games are going to be carried over to the next generation in some way.
Status: Unannounced, but an educated guess
We already know that developer Sony Santa Monica is working on its next project, and given the outstanding success of God of War on PS4, a sequel is inevitable. Taking into account the development time of a potential project like this, it’s reasonably safe to say that it’ll launch on the PS5.
Status: Unannounced, but an educated guess
Developer Guerrilla Games is hard at work on something, and you don’t have to be a genius to assume that the project in question is a sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn. The new IP was a smash hit on PS4, and the studio’s reputation for pushing hardware limits makes the hypothetical Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 a strong candidate to show off the upgraded power of the PS5. Whether it’ll be a next-gen launch title is up for debate, but we wouldn’t be at all surprised.
Status: Announced with no platforms specified, but strongly hinted to be a next-gen title
The Elder Scrolls VI is years off, and that means it’s almost certainly going to be a PS5 game. Publisher Bethesda has made a habit of announcing its games relatively close to their release dates, but with this one, its hand was somewhat forced at E3 2018 due to swirling speculation and the fact that it had to keep fans happy after talking at length about mobile titles.
Status: Announced for PS4, but given development progress, an additional PS5 release seems plausible
Just like Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima, it’s not hard to envision The Last of Us: Part II as a cross-gen title. Another PS4 game that’s settled with a long development cycle, developer Naughty Dog’s pedigree is abundantly clear, and Sony will want to ensure that this sequel releases at exactly the right time.
Status: Unannounced, but seemingly inevitable given the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4
Another seemingly inevitable sequel, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, or whatever it happens to be called, would almost certainly be a PS5 title. The seriously impressive success of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 will have already been enough to greenlight this hypothetical project, and as long as it’s something that Sony and Marvel want (why wouldn’t they?) then it’s going to happen.
Status: Announced with no platforms specified, but strongly hinted to be a next-gen title
Another early announcement from Bethesda, Starfield will supposedly mark the developer’s first step into galactic sci-fi territory. At E3 2018, the company hinted strongly that Starfield is targeting next-gen hardware, so we fully expect this one to show up on PS5.

This year’s TwitchCon Hackathon saw 70 developers from around the United States come to team up and build Twitch Extensions over the course of just 24 hours. We invited some of Twitch’s partnered broadcasters to participate by offering up challenges for the teams’ Extensions to solve.
And the hacking begins! Photo courtesy of Bernard Marger.
At the end of the hackathon, we had 13 diverse Twitch Extensions to show off from our developer teams. You can check out all of the projects on our Devpost page, but here are a few of our favorites:
A. KnowClips integrates user-generated Twitch clips into an intuitive video overlay Extension to drive viewer engagement and retention in a stream.
Q. How did you come up with the idea?
A. Seung Woo and Nolan initially had the idea to auto-generate Twitch clips from exciting moments in a stream. As a result of technical barriers and time constraints, we realized that would not be feasible. We instead pivoted to an anomaly detection engine that did the opposite: to look for moments of low activity / engagement in the Chat and to recommend Twitch clips to viewers to keep them engaged in the streamer’s content.
Q. What did you manage to get done in 24 hours?
A. We managed to build out the anomaly detection engine on top of a Twitch Chat stream by looking at message volume on a given interval. We also managed to build a UI that overlays Twitch clips on top of a stream and embeds a video within the stream window itself to enable easy clip viewing and interaction.
KnowClips won the grand prize and our partnered broadcaster challenge sponsored by savinthebees: “Build an Extension that gives a viewer the tools they need to promote a streamer’s content.”
A. We were tasked with engaging a viewer within 15 seconds to 30 seconds of them joining a stream. So we asked ourselves, “What’s the most natural way of saying hello in real life?…*pause for effect*…You wave! And with that, HandEmote was born. Our product utilizes a Leap Motion to capture the hand movements of someone watching a stream. With our platform, you can wave hello to your favorite streamer and they’ll be immediately alerted that you’ve joined their stream! Since we’re able to capture every hand configuration possible, we thought: “How can we take this to the next level?” Not only are you able to wave at your favorite streamer, but you can also pat them to reassure them after a bad play or you can high five them to show your approval for something good! We’ve completely removed the need to use a keyboard when interacting with your favorite streamer in order to make the most human, realistic interaction possible.
Q. How did you come up with the idea?
A. We thought about the feeling of everyone doing the wave together at a concert, feeling that collective power to cheer on a band you all love. We knew that many Extensions already existed that let streamers interact with viewers via a hardware hack on the streamer side, but we wanted to give the power back to the people — to team up and cheer on the streamer they love. Another great source of inspiration came from within our team. Having never met each other before, we somehow became best of friends almost instantly; we’re literally memeing on Discord while we collectively write this on a Saturday evening. With this newfound eternal friendship (and lifelong memories), we decided we wanted to spread this love from our community to Twitch’s.
Q. What did you manage to get done in 24 hours?
A. – Learn how to build a Twitch Extension – Set up React applications for the overlay and the live config – Attempt to use Twitch PubSub, fail miserably – Integrate Unity 3D to encode and recognize gestures – Set up REST calls to get gestures from the Unity 3D application and send to the overlay and live config feed – Make tons of people laugh and be surprised by our demo – And most importantly: Be a wholesome, loving team with great synergy, communication, and humor! – Sleep one hour
HandEmote won an honorable mention and our partnered broadcaster challenge sponsored by DJTechLive: “Build an Extension that gives a personalized twist to stream engagement.”

A. Twiffle streamlines the raffle giveaway process with four unique types of raffle giveaways: “custom,” “trivia,” “boundary,” and “random”!
Q. How did you come up with the idea?
A. Giveaways and raffles should be more common on Twitch, but setting them up is difficult. There are a lot of pieces which need to come together, purchasing the item, setting up the giveaway and conditions, and finally getting the winner’s information in order to receive the prize. Twiffle solves this problem by: allowing to hold an item directly purchased from eBay (or give game keys directly, etc.), set up what type of giveaway you want to have (currently four supported types), and finally collect the necessary information to give the winner their prize. This cuts out two of the most inconvenient current problems when making a giveaway and will promote more giveaways at a higher frequency, allowing for more viewer/streamer interaction.
Q. What did you manage to get done in 24 hours?
A. We managed to get a simple Python 3 backend using the latest async I/O features running in tandem with a Twitch Extension frontend that was built with Javascript and ReactJS. We were able to pull live item listings data from eBay all the way to the checkout process. We chose to use the eBay API instead of the Amazon API as there is an implemented break of endpoints between submitting card details for a card transaction and actually finalizing a transaction. This was necessary for the streamer end, so that they may fulfill billing information and for a stream viewer to “finish” the transaction by placing their shipping address. The Python 3 backend also sported universal multi-processing queue endpoints which allow for fast, in-memory based push/pull event messaging, which supported a lot of real-time events/notifications that need to be made on a granular app/user level for the Extension.
A. Twitchlight is a Twitch Extension (and more!) that allows streamers to interact with their viewers through a physical decor piece: an LED strip light that flashes colors in response to special events like subscriptions and to communicate the winner of streamer-initiated polls. Instead of an overlay on the screen, viewers can control a physical device that sits right beside the streamer and in the camera frame. Twitchlight is also a customized branding tool, for the LED lights can be used to create logos of streamers.
Q. How did you come up with the idea?
A. We searched for a creative way to promote streamer engagement with viewers, but we wanted to something different from a normal overlay. The LED lights were an appealing new challenge to tackle since none of us had solid hardware experience, so we decided to make a “real-life overlay”!
Q. What did you manage to get done in 24 hours?
A. We put together the LED piece by constructing the Twitch logo out of strip lights, which we programmed with Arduino to flash specific colors. Our Node.js Extension listened for special events like subscriptions and donations, flashing the lights to celebrate. Streamers could also administer polls by typing in questions, choices, and their corresponding colors. Within a certain time frame, viewers vote by sending emotes of that specific color, and the color of the winning choice is flashed by the strip lights. We also created an overlay that would assist the LED light in flashing the winning color and communicating the poll questions and event celebrations.
Twitchlight won our partnered broadcaster challenge sponsored by wish: “Build an Extension that helps a streamer celebrate a subscription.”
A. Streamer Trivia is a Family Feud-style quiz Extension that allows viewers to guess what the broadcaster would answer to a multiple choice question and collect points over time by guessing correctly. It’s a great way for for the streamers to bond with their viewers and for viewers to show how well they know a streamer!
The streamer will send out a request for a set number of questions and the first viewers to respond to that question will get to create a short multiple choice question that follows channel guidelines. Once the viewers create questions, the streamer will review and answer them. The streamer can reject any questions that don’t follow channel guidelines. After the streamer answers a question, viewers have a minute to guess what the streamer would answer. Once all the answers are in, the correct answer is revealed and viewers are awarded points based off of how right they are! Scores are tallied in a leaderboard to celebrate viewers who engage and know the streamer.
Q. How did you come up with the idea?
A. Our ideation process was to first learn more about streamers and viewers by exploring TwitchCon and talking with Twitch Staff. Then we thought about different types of viewers and how we wanted to engage them. We identified two different types of interactions we wanted to focus on: how to reward subscribers and how to create ways for lurkers to feel safe enough to engage. A few ideas we had initially were making Twitch Emote heat map, a prize wheel, a rewarding viewers for emote spamming to welcome new subscribers, and subscription based question asking system where new subscribers get to ask a question. We finally decided on a Family Feud-like quiz system that polls viewers for questions and allows viewers to get points.
Q. What did you manage to get done in 24 hours?
A. We managed to get all the front-end functionalities for our Extension up and running, but had troubles making our backend usable in time. We underestimated the amount of time we were actually going to spend at TwitchCon (a lot) which ate into the amount of actual work time we had.
StreamerTrivia won our partnered broadcaster challenge sponsored by SirSlaw: “Build an Extension that lets a streamer engage their audience with a question.”
Congrats to all the winners and wonderful entries! Photo courtesy of Bernard Marger.
As always, we were absolutely blown away by the quality of this year’s submissions. We hope that these Extensions will be fully finished and put on the Twitch Extension store for all streamers to add to their channels!
This event would not have been possible without the support of our partners at Major League Hacking and all of the resources they provided us. We had a blast with everyone in San Jose this year, and we can’t wait to host our next event. See you all in 2019!
At TwitchCon we announced Twitch Sings, a brand new karaoke game built from the ground-up for streaming on Twitch. Last week, we began our closed beta and we can’t wait to hear what the community thinks — you can check out creators playing Twitch Sings right here.
We believe Twitch Sings is an exciting way for creators and their communities to come together over a shared love of music on Twitch. If you’re interested in singing on Twitch, the beta signup is at twitch.tv/sings/download — more people will be invited as space opens up.
As Twitch has grown, we’ve heard questions from many creators about the types of music content that are allowed on Twitch. To help give creators more clarity, we’ve added more detail to our Community Guidelines around music. These now include details around sharing music on Twitch, including what is allowed, what isn’t, and how this plays out across different types of music content (cover songs, instrumentals, karaoke, and more).
Our goal with this update is to make sure creators have access to information that helps them make informed decisions about the kinds of music content they include on their channels. You can read this new update by visiting the Community Guidelines on music here.
A leaker who goes by the name of RuthenicCookie, who reported ahead of the announce that Sony wouldn’t be attending E3 2019, has shared more information about the upcoming PS5.
According to the leaker, PlayStation Experience would be making a comeback in 2019, and on top of that there would be two different reveal events for PlayStation 5.
The console would be showcased the first time at a smaller venue (mid 2019) like the PlayStation Meeting in 2016, and then PSX would be the perfect fit for a final blowout of information and details.
He addressed an user’s observation about the possible release of the console in 2021, and said that “nope, it’s coming soon because Anthem is being tested on one of the dev kits. It’s coming in the next 1-1.5 years and boy it’s a beast.”
The leaker also added that Anthem “is a mess” on current gen consoles and would be delayed again, which lead producer has already debunked.
So, take all of this as a grain of salt, mainly because we’re quite convinced that all these things are actually going to be happening in 2020 and not sooner.
What’s your opinion instead? Let us know in the comments below.
Sony’s PS5 could be built with an eight-core AMD Ryzen CPU at its centre. While the console is not expected to launch for another year, if not longer, its tech specs are already starting to propagate across the web. The next-gen console will supposedly reach 4K60 thanks to the red team’s core-heavy silicon, potentially paired up with an AMD Navi GPU.
The rumour comes from Reddit, specifically a user that correctly called PlayStation dropping out of E3 before that rumour was confirmed by Sony itself. Within the same thread ‘RuthenicCookie’ reports that the PS5 – supposedly set to launch in either March or November 2020 – will be powered by an eight-core Ryzen CPU, and priced at $500.
Of course, those details could be subject to change depending on the rumours’ veracity. However, this isn’t the first time AMD has been touted as working hand-in-hand with Sony on its next-gen console. AMD engineers were reportedly already tweaking code for Ryzen CPUs back in May, and even the AMD Navi GPU architecture was at one point in time touted as custom-tailored specifically for use in Sony’s console.
AMD has always had a knack for blending CPU and GPU components and its semi-custom wing is still racking up major clients under Mike Rayfield and David Wang’s leadership. Two out of the three largest games consoles on the planet, barring the Nintendo Switch powered by Nvidia’s Tegra X1, utilise AMD APU technology. Every sale of a PS4 or Xbox One – including mid-generation revamps – helps put a little extra in AMD’s pocket.
While 7nm AMD Zen 2 desktop chips and Navi GPUs are expected in 2019, mobile APU parts currently trail behind. APU components for both the desktop and mobile space should be arriving on 7nm by the time 2020 rolls around, and AMD could feasibly opt for a Zen 2 processor rather than Zen/Zen+ with future semi-custom designs if required.
The 7nm process might come a little too late for the PS5 if rumours of the current dev kits out in the wild already ring true. Although, while dev kits are representative of final hardware to an extent, they aren’t exactly what will be shipping come launch day.
As for GPU, the leaker makes no mention of the graphics tech within Sony’s next-gen console. However, the general consensus so far is that the AMD Navi architecture will be driving the experience. It was even once put forward that a large part of Raja Koduri’s AMD Navi engineering team was swept away to work on Sony’s implementation. Both semi-custom and Radeon work under the same leadership but those rumours still seem quite outlandish.
The AMD Ryzen/Vega combination has made its way into a Chinese domestic console, paving the way for future SoC console designs. Zhongshan Subor’s console features a 24 CU Vega GPU, 8GB of GDDR5, and a quad-core / eight-thread Ryzen CPU.
We know for sure that AMD’s GPU tech is a little more flexible when it comes to memory modules, at least. GDDR6 has the highest likelihood of appearing in both the next-gen consoles due to GDDR5 making up the memory pool in both the Xbox One X and PS4/Pro. The Xbox One utilises DDR3 memory.
That doesn’t rule out HBM (High Bandwidth Memory), however. AMD’s graphics tech has been proven to be quite flexible on the memory front, and this memory could offer significant efficiency and space savings thanks to its on-die approach.
“It is definitely opportunistic,” David Wang, senior VP of engineering at RTG, says. “But we have a baseline technology and our graphics architecture is scalable, is flexible, and it can work with HBM effectively and can also work very well with GDDR6.”
On early rumours alone it looks like AMD has net itself some incredibly strong business for the next half decade at least. The PS4 has shipped over 80 million units since it first launched in 2013, and, for some perspective on what AMD’s semi-custom business rakes in, the sales from its entire SoC business eclipses both Polaris and Vega sales combined in 2018.
Consoles are big business, and, whether you are privy to a console exclusive every now or then, or strictly PC gaming-only, AMD certainly wouldn’t be in the same position it is right now without clients like Microsoft and Sony. And whatever hardware tribe you ascribe to, the tech we get is better when it’s a competitive market.
PlayStation 4 was a massive hit and upcoming PlayStation 5 is not going to be any less as the rumors are dropping in which tell us that it has a release date set for 2019. New PlayStation 5 leaks tell us a possible release date and it’s coming from someone who recently predicted that Sony will miss the upcoming E3 which turned out to be true the next day.
Yes, Sony has officially confirmed that they are going missing E3 2019 but some people were not surprised at all because it was already leaked a day before from a user called RuthenicCookie on Reddit. At first, many didn’t believe him but the next day it was officially confirmed by Sony through a statement which was obtained by Game Informer. Now, this cancellation is something which hasn’t happened in the past 24 years of Sony so there’s definitely a reason behind it.
Since the leak turned out to be true, we now have to give some attention to RuthenicCookie as he’s been active recently talking about the upcoming PlayStation 5, PSVR 2 and its release date.
So we decided to point out everything he’s leaking on Reddit. Do take this all with a grain of salt. It’s true that one of his leaks turned out to be true but that doesn’t mean that it’s going to be the same case every time.
According to him, PlayStation 5 or PS5 is going to revealed sometime in mid of 2019 in an event similar to PS4 reveal previously. After that, Sony returns with PSX event to reveal more about the upcoming PlayStation 5. Now he further tells that Sony is targeting March 2020 release date but it could also be pushed to November.
After reading his comments, we came to know that PlayStation 5 is capable of running at stable 4K along with 60 FPS. The Playstation/PS5 will come with a Ryzen 8 core and it’s going to cost $500 which is going to be a very reasonable price for a next-gen console.
Other than PlayStation 5 reveal next year, he also talked about PSVR 2 and a few upcoming games. According to him, the PSVR 2 will have its processing box built inside PS5. PS5 will have a built-in camera for tracking and new PlayStation Move controller are also going to come with it. He also mentioned that Sony is testing some kind of VR gloves which we can’t talk about much at the moment.
PlayStation 5 is also going to bring some late PS4 games. These games include Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part 2. According to him, Anthem will get delayed once again and that’s something very likely to happen but let’s hope not.
We are going to compile everything RuthenticCookie has said in a list below.
PlayStation Experience will return in 2019
Dev Kits are already available
PS5 will run 4k with 60 FPS
Sony’s E3 2019 cancellation is because they have nothing new to show
PS5 will be revealed in mid-2019
PS5 announcement will be in 1 year and release in 1.5 or 2 years
Games like Death Stranding and The Last of Us Part 2 will come on PS5. Developers have PS5 dev kits and EA is already testing Anthem on it which might get delayed once again.
Death Stranding, The Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tshushima will be the launch titles of PS5
The above-mentioned games don’t have a release date yet so they might end up coming on PS5
Recently released Red Dead Redemption 2 will be ported to PS5 sometime in March of 2020
PS5 specs consist of Ryzen 8 core and the price is $500. PS VR 2 will have a processing box built inside the console. Built-in camera too, also for DS5.
Ape Escape 4 confirmed
Bloodborne 2 is not happening anytime soon
Most of the PS4 titles will be on PS5
PSV instead of PS5
Now do take this all with a grain of salt as nothing has been officially confirmed yet. PS5 rumors are all over the internet and we recently got to know that Bethesda is discussing PS5 with Sony.
Sony has today revealed some interesting stats about the PlayStation 4 on its 5th anniversary.
The most interesting fact is definitely the five best selling games since the PS4 launched. It’s not really surprising to me, but I’m sure it’d be eye opening to see that two CODs, two FIFAs and Grand Theft Auto have sold more than any other game released on the PS4.

ASTRO Gaming, known for their incredible headsets, is now taking over the controller world with the newly unveiled C40 TR controller. The powerhouse tech company announced their upcoming line in the video above showcasing just how powerful the newest peripherals will be.
The new Astro C40 TR is highly customizable thanks to its swappable and removable modules. That means that you’ll be able to remove and replace the analog stick and D-pad covers, and swap in alternatives, depending on your style of play. Furthermore, you’ll be able to swap the positions of all of the modules on the front face, giving players access to different types of button configurations. You can see an example of the process in the image below.
The rear buttons on the controller can be remapped without any additional software and are designed for optimal functionality. In order to fully customize the controller, you will need to install software on a PC. The model will work as a wired or wireless controller and also has a 3.5mm jack to deliver audio to headphones and also relay voice over chat.
