    Diese Woche bringt der Arcade Mittwoch einen Titel aus dem Hause NAMCO BANDAI. Mit HEXODIUS steht ab sofort Erkunden – Aufrüsten – Entkommen am Tagesprogramm, denn so lautet die Aufgabe im brandneuen Titel. Zusätzlich stehen drei abwechslungsreiche Games on Demand Titel im Xbox Games Store bereit: F1 2013, KINECT STAR WARS und AIR CONFLICTS: VIETNAM sorgen für scharfe Kurven, gute Unterhaltung und Action.

    HEXODIUS
    Der Spieler übernimmt die Steuerung eines Drohnes und muss auf dem Weg zum Ausgang des Hexodius-Komplexes die Attacken der verschiedensten Droidentypen überleben. Das Erkunden von Spielfelder, die eigene Drohne mit mächtigen Objekten ausstatten und taktische Schlachten mit viel Verstand gewinnen, sind notwendige Ziele, die erreicht werden müssen um die Aufgabe erfolgreich zu erfüllen. Der Titel steht ab sofort um 9,49 Euro im Xbox Games Store zum Download bereit.

    Games on Demand – Zwei neue Titel stehen zur Verfügung
    Diese Woche wird den Spielern eine Games on Demand-Auswahl von der Superlative geboten. Für Rennspiel-Liebhaber steht der Titel F1 2013, für Fantasy-Fans KINECT STAR WARS und für Flug- und Kriegsabenteurer steht AIR CONFLICTS: VIETNAM zur Verfügung. Diese Titel bieten ein abwechslungsreiches Angebot und für jeden Adrenalinschub-Suchenden ist etwas dabei.

    F1 2013
    In F1 2013 erlebt der Spieler brandneue 1980er-Inhalte und alle Autos, Stars und Strecken der 2013 FIA Formula One World Championship. Das Rennspiel beinhaltet neue Erweiterungen, Verbesserungen und umfangreiche neue, aber auch bewährte Spielmodi sorgen für eine umfassende Simulation. In dem Spiel tritt der Spieler gegen Fahrerlegenden wie Nigel Mansell, Mario Andretti und Gerhard Berger, auf historischen Rennstrecken wie Brandy Hatch und Circuito de Jerez, an.     In der Welt von KINECT STAR WARS erlebt der Spieler eine gänzlich neue Form des Spieles mit vollem Körpereinsatz. Der Spieler hat danke Kinect die Macht Sternjäger zu steuern und Düsenschlitten zu lenken. Das Ziel ist es zum ultimativen Jedi zu werden. Stampfen, brüllen und schleudern von Sturmtruppen als mächtiger Rancor gehört dazu, genau so wie an Rivalen vorbei zu düsen um Podrenn-Champion zu werden. Der Spieler erlebt ein Star Wars Universum und hat die Möglichkeit viele weitere Abenteuer alleine oder gemeinsam mit Freunden zu erleben.     AIR CONFLICTS: VIETNAM
    Am Pilotensitz von Kampfjets und Hubschraubern stürzt sich der Spieler in der Rolle von Joe Thompson Platz in waghalsige Luftgefechte über dem Dschungel Vietnams. Joe Thomas ist ein mutiger Pilot, der sich für die Ideale seines Landes einsetzt und dabei erkennt, dass jeder Konflikt zwei Seiten hat.     For all of you Batman fans, here is a cool TV spot to celebrate the imminent launch of the new episode of the Batman Arkham franchise. It is about Bruce Wayne/Batman being beaten since he was a child and then counter attacking.

    This emotional piece depicts the transformation from Bruce Wayne’s dark childhood to his position as the feared crime-fighting hero.

    Developed by WB Games Montréal, Batman: Arkham Origins is based on DC Comics‘ core Batman license and features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, players will meet many important characters for the first time and forge key relationships.

    Wii U has more next-gen 1080p 60fps games than Xbox One and PS4

    Site Gaming Blend published a list of all the -confirmed- native 1080p 60fps titles on ’next-gen‘ consoles and, it looks like the Wii U has more of these than the Xbox One or the PS4(without counting indie titles).

    Just take a look:

    Wii U

    The Wii U has confirmed games to run native 1920x1080p at 60 frames per second: Super Smash Bros. U, Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8 and Rayman Legends.

    Super Smash Bros. U was confirmed to run at 1080p, as noted on My Nintendo News. Mario Kart 8 was confirmed to run on the Wii U without a hitch at 60 frames per second when it was unveiled at E3. Bayonetta 2 was labeled 1080p at 60fps via Siliconera, and even if we want to count HD remakes for next-gen such as Wind Waker HD, Digital Trends made it known that the game is 1080p at 60fps. There’s also Rayman Legends, once a Wii U exclusive, that also runs 1080p at 60fps, as noted by Digital Foundry.

    So we have about six next-gen games running 1080p at 60fps for the Wii U, and even if you want to knock off Wind Waker HD as a remake and a game that’s not a real next-gen title, that’s fine. We still have a nice cache of games on the Wii U that are native 1080p to prove its case.

    PS4

    There are only a few games on the PS4’s side that hits 1080p at 60fps, including:

    • KillZone: Shadow Fall = 1920×1080 (MP=60fps, SP=30fps)
    • DriveClub = 1920×1080 (Targeting 60fps)
    • Flower = 1920×1080 (60fps)
    • Resogun = 1920×1080 (60fps)

    Now there’s also Warframe and DC Universe Online that are also 1080p at 60fps, but neither of those are native next-gen games; they’re ports. That would be the equivalent of looking through the Wii U’s eShop and naming all the native 1080p 60fps indie games and Wii ports, and by comparison the Wii U would wipe the floor with the competition in that regard.

    But look at that list for the PlayStation 4… while I love what Sony is doing with the console, we can see that Killzone isn’t native 60fps, but only 60fps in multiplayer with tons of downscaling of the graphics and visual effects.

    We also have DriveClub which may or may not be native 60fps, as it seems as if it’s a bit of a toss-up. There’s also Flower, but again, if we’re counting Flower then we may as well leave Wind Waker HD on the list. That means we have three-and-half games on the PS4 side running 1080p at 60fps.

    Xbox One

    On the Xbox One side it looks even worse. We have…

    • Killer Instinct = 1280×720 (60fps)
    • Forza 5 = 1920×1080 (60fps)
    • Call of Duty: GHOSTS = 1920×1080

    You may as well scratch Call of Duty: Ghosts off that list because it’s also going to be 60fps on the Wii U and PS4. That just leaves us with Killer Instinct and Forza Motorsport 5, granted only one of those games is a next-generation title at native 1080p and 60fps.

    According to the site, this leaves us with the Wii U being more next-gen than its supposed bigger, badder, next-gen competitors.

    It looks like Sony is already rolling out PlayStation 4 demo kiosks at select retailers in the United States.

    Starting today, select Sony Stores across the country have been installed with the demo stations, and you can try games like Knack, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, FIFA 14, Contrast, Super Motherload, and Pinball Arcade.

    Hard to believe we’re less than a month away from PS4’s launch on November 15th. Exciting! If you just can’t wait to get your hands on a system, I’ve got good news. Starting today, we’re rolling out PS4 demo kiosks to stores nationwide.

    The initial wave of PS4 demo units will appear in select Sony Stores, with thousands more added to various retail locations, such as GameStop, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart — among others in the coming weeks.

    Pokemon X & Y moves over 1.8 million units in Japan, while GTA 5 moves a respectable 360.115 units. Vita sales hit 60,166 thanks to the release of the new model (2000).

    Media Create released its Japanese sales charts, showing that Pokemon X & Y moved over 1.8 million units on the week ending October 13, beating rival new entry Grand Theft Auto V, which still did pretty good over there, selling 360,115 units.

    Pokémon, of course, boosted the Nintendo 3DS sales. PS Vita sales also increased a lot this week with the release of the new model (PCH-2000) in Japan; it came in second on the hardware chart at 60,166 sales. Meanwhile, the Wii U just sold around ~3,000 units this week…

    Microsoft will offer dedicated servers for all Xbox One games

    Microsoft has announced that dedicated servers will be offered for all Xbox One games.

    When asked about this, Senior Xbox director Albert Penello shared the news on Twitter, simply stated „yes“:

    Dedicated servers for the Xbox One versions of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Titanfall were previously confirmed.

    Microsoft also said that not only will dedicated servers allow for a greater number of gamers to play together at once, but players will also notice a generally more „stable experience“…

    „With server-based multiplayer gaming, not only can more players play the game (think hundreds of players simultaneously), the gameplay will be much more reliable for the players,“ Microsoft said.

    „No more host migration interruptions, suboptimal experiences for the host, home network NAT constraints, or player cheating.“

    Additionally, Microsoft will offer cloud services to developers for free, as Xbox Live lead programmer John Bruno announced on the Xbox Wire. „Cloud services will allow developers to offload computations, improve multiplayer gaming with dedicated servers, evolve games with dynamic updates, and improve server availability when a game demands it“.

    Will Sony take a similar stance in the future? So far, Call of Duty: Ghosts and Killzone: Shadowfall will have dedicated servers on the PS4.

    DriveClub for PS4 delayed until 2014

    According to a source of TheSameCoin, Driveclub for the PS4 has been delayed until at least spring 2014. The title was announced as a launch title for Sony’s next-gen console.

    The site says that you should treat this as „100% rumour“ for now, but considering yesterday’s announcements about Watch Dog’s & The Crew slipping into 2014, it wouldn’t be surprising.

    Here’s the report:

    We’ve had word from an anonymous source that Sony’s upcoming PS4 launch title Driveclub is delayed until spring 2014. While no reason for the delay was given it has been reported previously that the game had looked a little unfinished when shown at various events this year.

    With a little under a month before the PS4′s US release this isn’t the best of news, especially in the light of Ubisoft’s news that the highly anticipated launch title watch Dog’s won’t be hitting until sometime next year. It’s also a hit to the platforms hugely popular PS+ service as an albeit stripped down version of Driveclub was due to be available for PS+ subscribers free at launch.

    It could also be another blow to retailers who are already having to scramble to adjust preorder bundles of the PS4 in light of yesterdays news.

    As stated this is just a rumour at present,expect this piece to self destruct if it turns out to be rubbish but we’ll be sure to update as we learn more. I have reached out to both Evolution Studios and Sony for comment but as yet neither has chosen to reply.

    Top Gear has shared a teaser trailer showing the digital version of its mysterious driver on the TV series, The Stig. He will be included in the game marking lap times that you have to beat.

    Yes, Internet, making his debut in Forza Motorsport 5 is the virtual version of our tame racing driver — though this one’s slightly different. He — or it — is allegedly beatable. But only if you’re really good. That means you lucky folks who plan on snapping up the shiny new Xbox One and Forza 5 next month will be among the planet’s first to take him on.

    As you know, Forza 5 will feature the Top Gear test track, rendered in meticulous detail, including the follow-through and Gambon sections. Though the ramshackle shed where we store all of our crisps might not have made the cut.

    Still, you’ll have in-game commentary from Jeremy, Richard and James on the career modes, and races inspired by Top Gear events, amongst other things.

    The Xbox One Super V8 is, if you’re unaware, a bit of a beast. Set to compete at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 this Sunday, this Hulk-green slice of Aussie muscle is seriously bonkers: 640bhp from a 5.0-litre V8, to give a 0-60mph time of 3.3 seconds and top speed of185mph.

    Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson offers a quick walkthrough of the Friends app on Xbox One, including never-before-seen features

    Microsoft has just released a new video walkthrough of the Xbox One „Friends“ application.

     

    The video is narrated by Larry ‚Major Nelson‘ Hryb, and showcases the new features of the forthcoming app. Here are the details:

    “You’ll see your feed in the middle, which highlights what your friends are doing, as they do it, updating in real time,” Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson says in the video. “Off to your right, you’ll see your favorites… And then there’s your party, if you have one active.

    “If we enter ‘My Profile,’ you’ll get a snapshot of your profile in all its glory, including your reputation score there at the bottom. You’ll also be able to check your recent activity, achievements, and uploaded videos. If I head back and choose friends, I’ll get the full list, which I can sort in a variety of ways.

    “If I choose a friends, I’ll see their profile, including the count of their friends, their actual friends list, and how many followers they have. I can also see their recent activity, achievements, and videos.

    “If I add someone to my favorites list, I can quickly access that list. Now this is particularly great if you have a core group of friends who you play with all the time.

    “On Xbox One, you can follow people without being on their friends list. For example, if I’m a huge fan of certain pro gamers or celebrities… I could potentially follow them by adding them to my feed and friends list. Once I follow them, they’ll receive a notification. If they choose, they can follow me back and we’ll both appear on each others friends list. Of course, if that person didn’t want to be followed, they can set their privacy settings to block their profile. Chances are you’ll start seeing people not on your friends list start following you, as well.”

    Chris Owen, Community Manager at PlayStation Europe, has released pics of the retail box for the PlayStation 4, the DualShock 4, and the new PS Camera.

    You probably could’ve guessed, but the retail box for the PlayStation 4 rocks the same blue and white color scheme Sony’s been employing for some time now.

    A handful of DualShock 4 flavors are on display, from classic black to „Wave Blue“ and „Magma Red,“ and everything looks just about how we’d expect given the last eight months of introducing the PS4. The only bizarre standout — the vertical stand — is, well, it’s a silly hunk of plastic that keeps the PlayStation 4 vertical.

    With the holiday season fast approaching, the question on every gamer’s mind is „which next-gen console is most worth buying.“ According to this brand new study, the scale seems slightly tipped in favor of Sony’s PS4. As told by Reuters, twenty six percent of a 1,297 person online sample claimed that they would be investing on a $399 PS4.

    This pales in comparison to the fifteen percent that currently have their heart set on a $499 Xbox One. Oh, and as for Nintendo’s Wii U, only three percent of respondents showed an interest in that hardware. When observing those numbers, the rumors of early PS dominance seem to be panning out for now.

    However, there is still a lot to be said about current-gen machines as well. While many of the participants are ready and willing to plop down several hundreds of dollars on a brand new box, the majority of buyers are content to wait before making this kind of purchase decision. When tallied, a full sixty-four percent claimed they wouldn’t be looking at any new hardware at all this Christmas. In that sense, there’s still a lot of room for hardware makers to truly impress that undecided majority. Will PS4 remain the perceptive king, or can Xbox One reclaim a position of glory? Only time will tell!

    On her LinkedIn page, ‚Karen Brakenridge‘ stated that she worked as „Costume Designer for the video game Resident Evil 7“ from November 2012 until January 2013.

    Well, that part has already been removed, which could mean that Capcom wasn’t too happy with the early reveal.

    Since RE6, Capcom has only released Resident Evil Revelations HD, a visually upgraded version of the 3DS title. However, it is yet to officially announce a full sequel.
