Coming July 1, players can enter the new era of Formula 1 in EA Sports F1 22, the official videogame of the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship. Featuring the sport’s stunning new cars, F1 22 delivers a new handling model that recreates the intense wheel-to-wheel racing that’s had us on the edge of our seats so far in the 2022 Formula 1 season.
Players can also test their driving skills amongst the iconic Florida palm trees around the 19 challenging corners of the vibrant new Miami International Autodrome, and go flat out as F1 Sprint comes to the game for the first time. New race options give players more control over their virtual race day, with the opportunity to choose between immersive and broadcast-style Formation Laps, Safety Car periods, and Pit Stops. Get a taste of the glitz and glamour of Formula 1 in F1 Life, a new space to unlock and show off supercars, clothing, accessories, and more for the world to see.
The main innovations regarding the PS5 controller are the haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers in F1 22. Learn more about some of the PS5 features below.
Haptic feedback
Through utilizing the PS5 DualSense controller’s haptics, the feeling of both collisions and surfaces has been greatly enhanced. It gives the ability to communicate individual chunks of surface debris and creates a far more immersive experience to represent the car on a particular part of the track. Most notably, the sensation can be localized to the left or right. A great example of this is when just the left wheels of the player’s car are driven aggressively over a kerb, the feedback is felt exclusively through the left side of the controller, adding to the realism.
DualSense controller speaker
Taking advantage of the PS5 DualSense controller speaker, the player can hear their race engineer talk them through a session, feeding vital information and track data on their way to pole position or that all-important podium. Hear important HUD information via the controller speaker, leaving your main audio mix clean and free of distraction, the way a race should be heard.
Adaptive triggers
For PS5, the adaptive triggers are utilised by attaching the amount of resistance directly to slip ratios of the tyres. What this means is when your car ‘locks up’ under braking, the amount of resistance through the brake trigger increases, resulting in a more immersive connection with the car. Likewise, when wheelspin occurs the resistance of the accelerator trigger is increased. A subtle difference to the resting resistance of the accelerator and brake triggers has also been applied to simulate the difference in pressure needed to fully depress the brake vs accelerator pedals in a real-life F1 car.

Grid Legends: A racing legacy continues
The Grid franchise has been busy tearing up the circuits and streets since 2008, when Race Driver: Grid burst onto the scene to critical acclaim – though in truth, the roots of our racing series stretch back into the 1990s. TOCA Touring Car Championship in 1997 created a buzz with its impressive handling and gameplay, and at the beginning of the millennium, TOCA Race Driver took things to another level. A wide range of racing experiences and a gripping story, introducing us to Nathan and Ryan McKane, set the tone for four Grid games to date, expanding the car list, racing disciplines, locations, online action, and engrossing single-player options.
Whilst the series has taken plenty of different forms in the past 24 years, every title has remained true to three vital factors: Action-packed racing, incredible motorsport variety, and creating memorable racing stories on and off the track. A first for the franchise, Grid Legends’ story will be played out via innovative virtual production, blending a fantastic real-life cast, stunning set, and thrilling gameplay to bring you closer to the action than ever before. As the legendary Grid World Series returns for another year, you will be in the spotlight, as a fly-on-the-wall documentary captures every confrontation, all of the paddock politics, and every pivotal moment in the championship, as you challenge the infamous Ravenwest Motorsport, and the McKanes, for dominance on and off the track.
The whole team here is incredibly excited to introduce this new form of storytelling to Grid, brought to life by a world-class crew and cast, including the brilliant Ncuti Gatwa (Netflix’s ‘Sex Education’). Prepare to watch the drama unfold off the track, but also be ready to handle your business on it, as a unique racing story plays out – with you in the middle of it all.
Racing variety
Whilst our story is what weaves this trailer together, there is so much more to unpack – including a first look at some of the cars you’ll get behind the wheel of come next year. Continuing the franchise’s legacy of racing variety, over 100 cars will feature in Grid Legends, stretching from single-seaters, to big rigs, to classic touring cars, and plenty more. Expect machines from an array of motorsport eras, exemplified in our trailer by the likes of the Shelby Cobra 289 FIA, Audi A4 Quattro BTCC, and Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro Concept. All cars will be upgradable as you progress through Grid Legends, too; more on that in the near future.
That’s a taste of what you’ll be racing, but what about where you’ll be racing? The Grid series has always excelled in providing a diverse combination of real and unique fictional locations to compete at, and Grid Legends is no different. In fact, it’s even better.
130 routes will await you on launch, including iconic real-life tracks like Indianapolis, returning Grid favourites such as San Francisco and Paris, and brand-new locations like Moscow and London, which you may’ve spotted in the trailer. Für gute Platzierungen bekommt ihr Stempel in eurem Rennpass, der euch gut gefüllt den Zugang zu weiteren Herausforderungen ermöglicht. Reicht es mal nicht für das Siegertreppchen, dann könnt ihr wertvolle Punkte auch durch das Meistern von actionlastigen und spannenden Bonusaufgaben erhalten. Es muss nicht immer gleich der erste Platz sein, eine Zeit lang an der Pole-Position verharren, ein langer Segelflug durch die Lüfte oder gekonnte Drifts bringen euch ebenfalls Credits. Trotzdem solltet ihr nicht das Ziel aus den Augen verlieren und der Konkurrenz möglichst den Auspuff zeigen, denn nur dann greifen eure Sponsoren tief in die Tasche und ihr könnt euch neue, bessere Fahrzeuge leisten.
Einmal um die ganze Welt
Auf rund 70 Pisten rund um den Globus, zum Beispiel in China, Griechenland oder Norwegen, findet ihr natürlich auch unterschiedliche Straßenbeläge und Wetterbedingungen vor. Es ist schon ein gewaltiger Unterschied, ob ihr mit einem Buggy über Sanddünen rast oder auf verschneiten Strecken mit einem Rallyewagen ins Schlittern geratet. Mit der starken Auswahl an Locations und dem beeindruckendem Fuhrpark, der sich in 13 Fahrzeugklassen gliedert, habt ihr garantiert eine ganze Weile zu tun.
Schön: Euch stehen drei Event-Arten zur Verfügung und ihr beweist bei Gate Crasher, Smash Attack oder Gymkhana zum einen eure Fähigkeiten beim Handling der Wagen und Geschicklichkeit auf Parcours-Strecken. Zum anderen lasst ihr euch einfach nicht stressen, sondern habt einfach nur euren Spaß beim Driften, Rasen, Springen und Rammen der unliebsamen Konkurrenten. Neben dem Karriere, Arcade, Zeitrennen und Multiplayer-Herausforderungen könnt ihr auch selber kreativ werden und im Playground-Modus eigene Arena-Kurse erstellen, mit der DiRT-Community teilen oder euch den Streckenkompositionen von Mitspielern stellen.
Perfekt für PS5
Die PS5-Version von DiRT, die ihr übrigens als Besitzer der PS4-Ausgabe kostenlos upgraded, nutzt die technischen Möglichkeiten der neuen Konsolengeneration voll aus. Ladezeiten sind dank superschneller SSD quasi nicht vorhanden, die adaptiven Trigger des DualSense-Controllers lassen euch den Untergrund der Pisten richtig erfahren und die schicke Optik erstrahlt in 4K mit 60fps oder butterweichen 120fps. Wenn ihr ein Rennspiel für eure PS5 sucht, mit dem ihr nach Herzenslust durch die Gegend rasen, in Multiplayer-Rennen antreten oder mit bis zu vier Freunden im Splitscreen zocken könnt, dann schaut euch unbedingt DiRT 5 an.
Hey everyone! It’s great to be back on PS Blog to talk Dirt 5 with you, as we hurtle towards the revolutionary off-road racing game’s launch on current-gen and next-gen PlayStation consoles this November.
We’ve been pretty busy in recent weeks and months bringing you all manner of Dirt 5 details – from our star-studded Career, to the brand new Playgrounds arena creator mode, to the game’s all-round style and vibe that brings everything to life. One card we’ve held closer to our chest is Dirt 5’s online modes – until now. Whether you’re new to the Dirt franchise, or a long-time fan who loved some of the more creative online modes in past Dirt titles, we think you’re going to like this…
Dirt 5’s gameplay is all about action, fun and excitement around every turn – and we’ve taken that focus into Dirt 5’s multiplayer modes. Once you head into Multiplayer and add any friends to your session, prepare yourself for some thrilling racing and objective-based entertainment, against your buds and the rest of the world!
Party modes
If you’re a fan of previous online modes in Dirt like Outbreak and Cat ‘n’ Mouse, or keen to see more fun and innovating racing modes, we’ve got you covered. We’ve drawn up a host of unique, purpose-built arenas for each mode, so get ready for a new way to Let Loose in these three objective-based event types:
Vampire
We gave you a glimpse of the Vampire mode for Dirt 5 at the end of our Playgrounds trailer in August, and now it’s time to reveal all. Those of you who played Outbreak in Dirt 3 will be right at home here – and those of you who didn’t are in for a treat.
Vampire events begin with one Vampire car, whose task is to hunt down the other drivers, make contact with them, and turn them into a Vampire, visible by their headlights turning a ghoulish shade of red. Players who are not the Vampire have one objective: Run! Or, well, drive. Really fast. Use your racing skills to evade the Vampires in our event arenas until dawn comes to take the win and escape!
King
Got what it takes to hold the crown? Good – now you have to keep it. King puts a new spin on a traditional multiplayer event, with each player aiming to hold the crown and avoid coming into contact with other cars, which passes the crown over to them.
Racers earn points whenever they hold the crown, and the King will also leave a trail of coins for players to gather as they chase them down – but holding the crown is where the big money is at. Two crowns are placed in the arena and will automatically reset if a player retains it for a set amount of time. Score the most points within the time limit to secure the W and be King for a day!
Transporter
A racing-focused take on another classic multiplayer game type, Transporter is all about capturing, defending and evading to score the win. Each player is tasked with capturing an object and transporting it to a designated place. Doing so scores you points – but you’ll have every other racer trying to stop you and transport the object themselves!
That’s not all, though – holding onto the object longer, before delivering it, will score you more points. Do you race to the destination and bank the points, or try to keep it for longer and rack up a score? Strategy, skill and timing will be key to success in Transporter.
Online races in stunning locations
Want some more traditional racing alongside these party modes? No problem. Dirt 5’s Multiplayer also brings you an array of off-road racing action, both circuit-based and point-to-point, for you to tear up. We’ve taken some of the best scenarios and setups from single-player modes to create a huge playlist of events to compete in.
All 10 of Dirt 5’s stunning locations will be represented across the playlist, with a huge variety of car classes including Classic Rally, Pre Runners, Cross Raid, Rally Cross and more. This is the perfect way to take the off-road racing variety that Dirt 5 has to offer and give it another layer of unpredictability and fun.
Private lobbies, meanwhile, is a planned addition for after Dirt 5’s launch. As we assess the performance and feedback on Multiplayer racing, we’ll see how to best incorporate more options to create and search for player-made Dirt 5 lobbies.
Cross-generation multiplayer for Dirt 5
Competing in any Multiplayer events in Dirt 5 earns you currency to spend on new cars or other items, and also allows you to unlock personalisation items, such as new designs for your player card and lanyard, or certain stickers to show off on your profile or your car, through Dirt 5’s livery editor. Play more Multiplayer, get more cool stuff – you know the drill, and we’ve created a huge amount of items and style variations to make it worth your while.
All Multiplayer modes in Dirt 5 are 12-player events – ideal for close pack racing on our incredible circuits across 10 locations, or for our Party Mode arenas. All track and environment designs in Dirt 5 are created to encourage drama and action on the track, whilst surrounded by spectacular scenery. That makes it the perfect stage to serve up some online fun, and we can’t wait to see what you make of it.
Oh, and finally, Dirt 5 online is cross-generational – that means if you’re playing Multiplayer on PlayStation 5, you’ll be able to tear it up with PlayStation 4 players, or vice versa. Enjoy!

Seid ihr erst einmal im Multiplayer und habt eure Freunde zur Session hinzugefügt, geht der spannende Rennspaß mit zielbasierter Unterhaltung los und es heißt: Ab ins Wettrennen gegen eure Freunde und den Rest der Welt!
Party-Modi
Wenn ihr vorangegangene Online-Modi von Dirt wie Outbreak und Cat ‘n’ Mouse gefeiert habt oder euch nach neuen Rennmodi mit dem ultimativen Spaßfaktor sehnt, seid ihr hier richtig. Für jeden Modus haben wir eine Menge einzigartiger, maßgeschneiderter Arenen kreiert. Also macht euch bereit, euch auf eine ganz neue Art und Weise in diesen drei zielbasierten Event-Typen auszutoben:
Vampire (Vampir) – Am Ende unseres Playgrounds-Trailers im August konntet ihr bereits einen kurzen Blick auf den Vampire-Modus von Dirt 5 erhaschen. Jetzt ist es Zeit, alles zu enthüllen. Diejenigen, die in Dirt 3 Outbreak gespielt haben, werden sich hier wie zu Hause fühlen – und wer es nicht kennt, wird begeistert sein.
Vampire-Events starten mit einem Vampire-Auto, dessen Aufgabe es ist, die anderen Fahrer zu jagen, in Kontakt zu kommen und sie in Vampire zu verwandeln. Ihr erkennt ein Vampire-Auto an seinen gruselig rot verfärbten Scheinwerfern. Alle anderen Spieler sollten nur ein Ziel verfolgen: Weglaufen! Tja, oder eben wegfahren. Sehr schnell. Setzt euer ganzes Können auf der Rennstrecke ein, um den Vampire-Autos in unseren Event-Arenen bis zum Morgengrauen zu entweichen. Dann sind euch die Flucht und der Sieg sicher!
King (König) – Habt ihr das Zeug, die Krone zu tragen? Gut. Und jetzt heißt es, sie zu behalten. Bei King verleihen wir einem traditionellen Multiplayer-Event einen neuen Kniff. Das Ziel jedes Spielers ist es, die Krone zu behalten und Kontakt mit anderen Autos zu vermeiden, da ansonsten die Krone an dieses weitergegeben wird.
Die Rennfahrer sammeln Punkte, wenn sie die Krone besitzen, und der „King“ hinterlässt außerdem eine Spur von Münzen, die seine Verfolger bei der Jagd einsammeln können – aber das große Geld bekommt ihr nur mit der Krone. In der Arena werden zwei Kronen platziert. Verteidigt sie ein Spieler für einen festgelegten Zeitraum, wird sie anschließend automatisch zurückgesetzt. Sichert euch die meisten Punkte in der festgelegten Zeit und seid König für einen Tag!
Transporter – Dieser rennorientierte Modus ist angelehnt an einen weiteren Multiplayer-Klassiker. In Transporter dreht sich alles ums Einsammeln, Verteidigen und Ausweichen für den Sieg. Jeder Spieler muss ein Objekt einsammeln und es an einen festgelegten Ort bringen. Schafft ihr das, sammelt ihr Punkte – aber jeder andere Fahrer wird versuchen, euch aufzuhalten und das Objekt wegzuschnappen, um es selbst transportieren zu können!
Aber das ist noch nicht alles – je länger ihr mit dem Objekt unterwegs seid, bevor ihr es abliefert, desto mehr Punkte sammelt ihr. Also, welcher Typ seid ihr? Direkt zum Zielort rasen und Punkte einkassieren, oder es lieber noch etwas hinauszögern und die Punkte in die Höhe treiben? Strategie, Können und das richtige Timing sind die Schlüssel zum Erfolg in Transporter.
Online-Rennen an umwerfenden Schauplätzen
Ihr wollt neben den Party-Modi noch mehr vom traditionellen Rennerlebnis? Kein Problem. Die Multiplayer-Modi von Dirt 5 bieten euch auch ein Aufgebot an Offroad-Rennaction, sowohl streckenbasiert als auch mit Punkt-zu-Punkt-Rennen. Wir haben einige der besten Szenarien und Setups aus den Singleplayer-Modi übernommen, um eine enorme Auswahl an Events zu schaffen, in denen ihr euch messen könnt.
Alle 10 der unglaublichen Schauplätze von Dirt 5 sind vertreten und bieten über eine große Auswahl an Fahrzeugklassen, darunter Classic Rally, Pre Runners, Cross Raid, Rally Cross und viele mehr. Generationsübergreifender Multiplayer für Dirt 5
Durch die Teilnahme an den Multiplayer-Events von Dirt 5 verdient ihr Spielwährung, die ihr dann für neue Autos oder andere Gegenstände ausgeben könnt. Außerdem schaltet ihr damit Personalisierungsgegenstände, wie z. B. neue Designs für eure Spielerkarte und euer Schlüsselband, oder bestimmte Sticker frei, die ihr mithilfe des Lackierungseditors auf eurem Profil oder eurem Auto präsentieren könnt. Spielt mehr Multiplayer, erhaltet mehr coole Sachen – ihr wisst, wie es läuft. Wir haben uns noch eine Menge weiterer Gegenstände und Stilvariationen ausgedacht, damit es sich für euch lohnt.
Alle Multiplayer-Modi in Dirt 5 sind Events für 12 Spieler – perfekt für hart umkämpfte Rennen auf unseren unglaublichen Strecken an 10 Schauplätzen oder für unsere Party-Modus-Arenen. Dirt 5’s launch on PlayStation 4 on October 16, followed later this year by PlayStation 5, has already been shaping up nicely. Whether it’s the star-studded Career mode starring Troy Baker and Nolan North, the 10 new and stunning racing locations with over 70 routes, four-player split-screen, livery editor or plenty more, we’ve had fun showing you what Dirt 5 has to offer. But, all the while, we’ve kept something hidden up our sleeves – until now.
Welcome to Playgrounds – Dirt 5’s all-new mode, where players design, edit, share and race on user-created racing arenas. Let loose your creativity and use a huge suite of objects, from drift zones and jumps to rings of fire and loop-de-loops, to invent all manner of dream racing maps, and search through the database of community of designs to compete on the most stunning creations.
We want everyone to create, share and discover in this all-new mode, but as it’s such a fresh addition for the franchise, I figured you could do with a few pointers to get you started. So, make a note of the five tips below when you dive into Dirt 5’s Playgrounds mode!
1. Smash, crash or drift?
Every Playground you create or download to race on will be centred around one of three event types. There’s Smash Attack, where racers are challenged to find and collect objects in the quickest time possible, avoiding the dreaded penalty objects; Gate Crasher is a time-attack style event, with checkpoints to race through as quickly as you can; and Gymkhana allows everyone to design their own arenas full of jumps, donut markers, drift gates and more, scoring points for speed, style and flow.
Each event is a very different experience, so test out a few of each in our database of Playgrounds to find out which your favourite is. When creating a Playground, in the pause menu is where you’ll find the option to change your event type – and doing so will make the relevant objects available to place. So, make sure you’ve chosen a Gymkhana event if you want to place those drift markers, speed gates and 360 spots!
2. Think big
Verticality. Get it in your vocabulary people, because you’re going to need it.
In Playgrounds, there isn’t just a huge amount of scope to what you can create on the ground. Think bigger – think higher! Our tools allow you to build routes, structures and more, high up in the sky, adding a new layer of challenge and awe to anything you create. Build death run Gate Crasher routes, where the slightest error could cause a spectacular fall from grace. Build a Gymkhana arena where certain trick spots are only accessible if you nail a jump to an island in the sky.
All this and more is possible, and allows you to stretch those creative muscles in a unique way for a racing game. Just one piece of advice: Don’t. Look. Down.
3. Pick the perfect ride
Regardless of what you create in Playgrounds, any car from our roster can be chosen as its assigned car – from extreme off-road trucks, to modern rally machines, to Sprint cars, and so much more in between. The design of your Playground should have the assigned car’s characteristics kept in mind, just to make the experience and flow is spot on.
If you’re going with a vehicle like our monstrous rock bouncer, or our rough-and-ready trucks and buggies, they’ll be more capable of handling anything you throw at them in terms of bumps and jumps. Our classic off-road stars, like the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally or Ford Mustang Fastback Rally, may need some smaller gaps between those jumps, but are more manoeuvrable between and around objects.
Subtle design choices based on the car you’ll be tearing around your Playground can be the difference between a decent design, and an outstanding event that rakes in the Likes from the Dirt 5 community, sending your creation into our Featured categories. Speaking of which…
4. Tune in to the discovery channel
The Discover area of Playgrounds is the place to find every single design uploaded by the Dirt 5 community. Browse and search to pick out the Playgrounds that take your fancy, download them, take on the event, and post your top score or fastest time to the event’s global leaderboard. Retry the event as many times as you want, or head back to Discover to find another Playground.
As there’ll be a huge variety of arenas to search through, make sure to use the options and menus we provide to narrow down your search. Discovery will have sub-menus that show the Playgrounds that have been played the most, or have been Liked the most by other players. On top of that, you can use a classic text search to find a specific design, or choose to only see Playgrounds that include specific labels or characteristics that match what you’re looking for.
The Dirt 5 team will also be regularly hand-picking some of the best creations to place in Featured areas of Discover. Design something amazing and you just might have your name up in lights, as we showcase your Playground both in-game and the official Dirt social channels!
5. Join the community
We’ve mentioned that there’s the ability to ‘Like’ Playgrounds after you’ve played them, which is just the beginning of how you can interact with this mode to help shape it with us. You’ll have options to Like or Dislike any Playground post-event, which contributes to its stats that are visible to other players, and help us decide whether to feature the design in Discovery. There’ll also be an option to report a Playground, so we can take a look at any designs you have a concern about.
Finally, we’ll constantly be chatting with the Dirt 5 community about their Playgrounds creations and experiences. Over on our official Discord server, we’ll have dedicated areas for players to discuss the mode and share their creations, so others can easily find them in-game.
Interact with players, show off your creativity, and find a constant stream of new creations to take on. That’s what Playgrounds is all about – and we can’t wait for you all to dive right in. Playgrounds will be available on both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Dirt 5, with any creations and progress you make carrying over from current-gen to next-gen!

Wir hatten jede Menge Spaß, euch zu zeigen, was DIRT 5 alles zu bieten hat, darunter der hochkarätig besetzte Karrieremodus mit Troy Baker und Nolan North, die 10 neuen und atemberaubenden Rennschauplätze mit über 70 Routen, der Split-Screen-Multiplayer für vier Spieler, der Lackier-Editor und vieles mehr. Dabei hatten wir die ganze Zeit noch ein besonderes Ass im Ärmel versteckt – zumindest bis jetzt.
Willkommen bei Playgrounds (Spielwiesen), dem brandneuen Modus in DIRT 5, in dem Spieler ihre eigenen Rennarenen erstellen, bearbeiten, teilen und dort auch Rennen austragen können. Lasst eurer Kreativität freien Lauf und erstellt mit einer riesigen Auswahl an Objekten – darunter Drift- und Sprung-Zonen, Feuerringe und Loopings – die Rennstrecken eurer Träume. Durchsucht die Kreationen der Community und tretet auf den fantastischsten Rennstrecken gegeneinander an.
Wir laden alle zum Erstellen, Teilen und Entdecken in diesem Modus ein. Gleichzeitig wissen wir, dass es eine große Neuerung für die Reihe ist, daher wollen wir euch die ein oder andere Starthilfe mit auf den Weg geben. Also merkt euch die fünf unten stehenden Tipps gut, wenn ihr in den Playground-Modus von DIRT 5 abtauchen wollt!
1. Smashen, Crashen oder Driften?
Jeder Playground, den ihr erstellt oder herunterladet, um Rennen zu fahren, basiert auf einem von insgesamt drei Eventtypen. Bei Smash Attack (Schmetterangriff) müssen die Rennfahrer so schnell wie möglich Objekte einsammeln, dabei aber die gefürchteten Straf-Objekte meiden. Gate Crasher (Zielkrawalle) ist ein Rennen unter Zeitdruck, in dem ihr so schnell wie möglich durch Kontrollpunkte fahren müsst. In Gymkhana (Reiterfest) könnt ihr eure eigenen Arenen voller Sprünge, Donut-Zonen, Drift-Tore und mehr erstellen und dabei Punkte für Tempo, Stil und euren Spielfluss erzielen.
Jeder einzelne Eventtyp bietet ein anderes Erlebnis. Probiert mithilfe unserer Datenbank ein paar Playgrounds aus, um herauszufinden, welcher Typ euch besonders liegt. Während ihr einen Playground erstellt, könnt ihr im Pausemenü den Eventtyp eurer Strecke verändern. Dadurch könnt ihr die entsprechenden Objekte in eurer Arena platzieren. Wenn ihr also Drift-Markierungen, Tempo-Tore und 360-Grad-Stellen setzen wollt, solltet ihr vorher sicherstellen, dass Gymkhana eingestellt ist.
2. Denkt Groß
Vertikalität. Schaut mal im Wörterbuch nach, Leute, denn dieses Wort werdet ihr brauchen.
In Playgrounds steht euch nicht nur jede Menge Platz auf dem Boden zur Verfügung. Denkt größer – denkt höher! Mit unseren Werkzeugen könnt ihr Strecken, Strukturen und mehr in die Lüfte bauen, um eure Kreationen noch herausfordernder und ehrfurchtsvoller zu machen. Baut todesmutige Gate Crasher-Strecken, auf denen schon der kleinste Fehler in den Abgrund führen kann. 3. Wählt das passende Gefährt
Egal, was ihr in Playgrounds erstellt, jedes Fahrzeug aus unserer Liste kann eurer Strecke zugewiesen werden, darunter extreme Off-Road-Trucks, moderne Rallye-Maschinen, Sprintautos und alle möglichen Fahrzeugtypen dazwischen. Beim Erstellen eures Playgrounds solltet ihr aber immer die Eigenschaften eures zugewiesenen Fahrzeugs im Kopf haben, damit das Fahrerlebnis so reibungslos wie möglich abläuft.
Wählt ihr zum Beispiel unseren monströsen Rock Bouncer oder unsere unverwüstlichen Trucks und Buggys aus, werden sie mit Kurven und Sprüngen, die ihr ihnen in den Weg baut, kaum Probleme haben. Unsere Off-Road-Klassiker wie der Fiat 131 Abarth Rally oder der Ford Mustang Fastback Rally brauchen wahrscheinlich kleinere Lücken zwischen diesen Sprüngen, lassen sich aber besser an Objekten und Hindernissen vorbeimanövrieren.
Dezente Anpassungen anhand eures Fahrzeugs, das ihr auf eurem Playground von A nach B heizt, können den Unterschied zwischen einer „ganz netten“ Kreation und einem herausragenden Event machen, das Unmengen „Gefällt mir“ von der DIRT 5-Community einheimst und eure Kreation in die von uns betreuten Kategorien befördern könnte. 4. Geht auf Erkundungs-Tour
Im Playgrounds-Bereich Discover (Entdecken) findet ihr jede einzelne hochgeladene Kreation der DIRT 5-Community. Geht die Playgrounds durch, die euch gefallen, ladet sie herunter und meistert das Event. Postet eure besten Punktewertungen oder schnellsten Zeiten anschließend auf der globalen Event-Bestenliste. Spielt das Event erneut, so oft ihr möchtet, oder sucht über die Discover-Funktion einen anderen Playground.
Euch erwartet eine große und breite Auswahl an Arenen, daher solltet ihr die von uns bereitgestellten Einstellungen und Menüfunktionen einsetzen, um eure Suche einzugrenzen. Im Discover-Bereich könnt ihr Untermenüs einblenden, die euch die beliebtesten und am häufigsten gespielten Playgrounds anzeigen. Hinzu kommt die klassische Textsuche, mit der ihr eine bestimmte Kreation finden oder euch nur Playgrounds mit bestimmten Bezeichnungen und Eigenschaften, nach denen ihr sucht, anzeigen lassen könnt.
Das Team von DIRT 5 wird außerdem in regelmäßigen Abständen einige der besten Kreationen auswählen und sie in von uns betreuten Discover-Bereichen vorstellen. Erstellt etwas Geniales und schon bald wird euer Name in aller Munde sein – sobald wir euren Playground sowohl im Spiel als auch auf unseren offiziellen Social-Media-Kanälen von DIRT präsentieren.
5. Werdet Teil der Community
Wie bereits erwähnt, könnt ihr den Playgrounds nach dem Spielen ein „Gefällt mir“ geben. Aber das ist nur der Anfang, um diesen Modus gemeinsam mit uns zu gestalten. Spielt einen Playground und gebt danach an, ob er euch gefallen hat oder nicht. Eure Bewertung fließt in seine Statistik ein, die für jeden Spieler einsehbar ist. Damit helft ihr uns, zu entscheiden, ob wir diese Kreation in unserem Discover-Bereich vorstellen sollen oder nicht. Daneben habt ihr die Möglichkeit, Playgrounds zu melden, falls ihr bei bestimmten Kreationen Bedenken habt und wir sie einmal genauer unter die Lupe nehmen sollen.
Und zu guter Letzt werden wir uns mit unsrer DIRT 5-Community unentwegt über ihre Playground-Kreationen und -Erfahrungen austauschen. Auf unserem offiziellen Discord-Server haben wir bestimmte Bereiche zur Verfügung gestellt, in denen Spieler über den Modus diskutieren und ihre Kreationen teilen können, damit sie für andere leichter im Spiel zu finden sind.
Interagiert mit anderen Spielern, stellt eure Kreativität zur Schau und entdeckt einen nicht enden wollenden Nachschub an neuen Kreationen. Genau darum geht es in Playgrounds. We’re incredibly excited to share the official features trailer for Dirt 5, launching on October 9 for PlayStation 4, then racing on PlayStation 5 later this year. I know you hear stuff like that a lot from games studios, but seriously – we are so excited to share this trailer with you, showing off brand new content, big features and plenty more that we’ve been tuning up in recent weeks and months.
On top of that, we’re stoked to confirm that Dirt 5 includes a FREE next-gen upgrade option to the PlayStation community. That means if you pick up the game on PS4, digitally or physically, you’ll get the PS5 version, free of charge, when you choose to switch to the new console. Pretty sweet, right?
There’s a lot to take in from our latest trailer, so we thought we’d take you under the hood and give you some exclusive details on what the new Dirt 5 trailer is packing…
Tear up brand new global locations
Dirt 5’s action takes place across 10 brand new locations, built from the ground up and designed for all manner of epic racing. In the trailer, we focus on three locations:
Morocco – a rocky and dusty setting for some extreme and challenging races, where you’ll speed through barren open land and wind through villages.
Brazil – exotic and full of surprises, you’ll find lush forest routes, tight routes through favelas and much more, all under the shadow of the iconic Christ the Redeemer.
Arizona – between the iconic buttes, turn canyons and crevasses into racetracks, and find a purpose-build oval for some insane Sprint events.
Nepal, Roosevelt Island, Norway, China, Greece, Italy and South Africa are the seven other brand new locations, all hosting multiple events, all with their own bold design and colour palette. Combine all this with Dirt 5’s dynamic extreme weather, with blizzards, sandstorms, lightning strikes and more transforming any race, and you’ve got a tantalising world tour of extreme racing waiting for you. Time to clock up those air miles…
New driving experiences
Variety is something we’ve focused on for Dirt 5, and we wanted to make sure that comes across in the new trailer with an array of vehicles and classes. No Dirt game would be complete without some iconic rally and rallycross from the likes of Subaru, Mitsubishi and Ford, which are dotted throughout the video. We love ‘em. On top of that, though, we rolled in some machines you’ve never been behind the wheel of before…
Overcome all obstacles in our huge Rock Bouncer and Formula Off-Road classes. Feel the raw power of the Super Lites – off-road buggies with mad power and no excess weight. On the other end of the scale (literally), climb into racing trucks and converted SUVs to plough through the opposition. All sporting the ‘easy to learn, hard to master’ feel and handling that the Codemasters team is known for, you’ll have a blast getting to know these machines in our events.

Off road-racing variety
Dirt 5 is designed to be your one-stop shop for any kind of off-road racing experience you desire. The locations and car classes reflect that, but so do the event types we’re bringing you – an amplified mix of classic races, new events, and some returning favourites.
In the features trailer we show plenty of these, including Ultra Cross and Landrush; circuit-based races for some exhilarating pack racing. There’s also point-to-point racing in Rally Raid events, then the likes of Stampede and Path Finder challenge you to overcome boulders, huge hill climbs and serious obstacles.
The trailer ends by revealing the return of a Dirt staple: Gymkhana! To the uninitiated, these are timed events where you’re dropped into an arena full of jumps, drift zones, donut spots and other spots for automotive antics. Pull off tricks in these zones and string them together to push up your overall score within the time limit, with the highest score winning the event. We’re over the moon to bring Gymkhana back to the series, with a fresh Dirt 5 twist.
Be part of the vibe
These locations, cars and events shape the action in Dirt 5, whether you’re engrossed in our Career mode story starring Troy Baker and Nolan North, playing other offline modes with split-screen available up to four players, or heading online to throw down against the world in races and more innovative events that we’ll reveal in September.
Everything we’ve covered here is all tied together by something we mentioned on the PS Blog in May – the vibe of Dirt 5. The art style, overall feel and look of the game has a vibe of fun, self-expression and confidence that invites you to express yourself.

Macht brandneue Orte auf der ganzen Welt unsicher
Die Action von Dirt 5 spielt sich an zehn brandneuen Orten ab, die von Grund auf gestaltet und für alle Arten epischer Rennen ausgelegt wurden. Im Trailer konzentrieren wir uns auf drei Orte:
Marokko – ein felsiger und staubiger Schauplatz für extreme und herausfordernde Rennen, in denen ihr durch weitläufige Ödlande rast und euch durch Dörfer schlängelt.
Brasilien – im Schatten der legendären Christusstatue erwarten euch exotische Flecken voller Überraschungen, darunter üppige Waldstrecken, enge Straßen durch Favelas und vieles mehr.
Arizona – macht auf eurer Fahrt durch gewaltige Härtlinge die Canyons und Schluchten zu Rennstrecken und findet ein speziell angelegtes Oval für rasante Beschleunigungsduelle.

Ein neues Fahrerlebnis
In Dirt 5 haben wir uns stark auf Abwechslung konzentriert und wollten dafür sorgen, dass dies auch aus dem neuen Trailer mit einer Reihe unterschiedlicher Fahrzeuge und Klassen hervorgeht. Kein Dirt-Spiel wäre vollständig ohne Rallye- und Rallyecross-Klassiker wie Subaru, Mitsubishi und Ford, die über das gesamte Video verteilt sind. Wir lieben sie. Darüber hinaus haben wir allerdings auch ein paar Fahrzeuge einfahren lassen, hinter deren Steuer ihr noch nie gesessen habt …
Meistert in unseren großen „Rock Bouncer“- und „Formula Offroad“-Klassen alle Hürden. Spürt die ungefilterte Kraft der „Super Lite“-Autos – Offroad-Wagen mit ungeheurer Kraft und keinem überschüssigen Gewicht. Erlebt am anderen Ende der Skala buchstäblich eine andere Gewichtsklasse, wenn ihr in Renntrucks und umfunktionierte Geländewagen steigt, um den Gegnern die Hölle heiß zu machen. Alle diese Wagen haben die „Leicht zu lernen, schwer zu meistern“-Philosophie gemeinsam, für die das Codemasters-Team so bekannt ist, und ihr werdet viel Freude dabei haben, diese Fahrzeuge in unseren Events kennenzulernen.

Abwechslung in den Offroad-Rennen
Dirt 5 ist darauf ausgelegt, eure Anlaufstelle für jede Art von Offroad-Rennerlebnis zu sein, das ihr begehrt. Das wird bereits von den Orten und Fahrzeugklassen widergespiegelt, doch dasselbe trifft auch auf die Eventtypen zu – eine erweiterte Mischung aus klassischen Rennen, neuen Events und der Rückkehr von Fanlieblingen.
Im Features-Trailer ist davon schon viel zu sehen, unter anderem Ultra Cross und Landrush – streckenbasierte Rennen für aufregende Rudelrennen. Zudem gibt es Punkt-zu-Punkt-Rennen in „Rally Raid“-Events, während Events wie Stampede und Path Finder euch dazu herausfordern, Felsbrocken, steile Berge und schwere Hindernisse zu überwinden.
Am Ende des Trailers wird die Rückkehr einer festen Dirt-Größe enthüllt: Gymkhana! Für alle Uneingeweihten: Dabei handelt es sich um zeitlich begrenzte Events, bei denen ihr in einer Arena voller Sprünge, Driftzonen, Donut-Zonen und anderer Stellen für Autopossen ausgesetzt werdet. Führt in diesen Zonen Kunststücke aus und reiht sie aneinander, um eure Gesamtpunktzahl innerhalb des Zeitlimits zu erhöhen. Der Spieler mit der höchsten Punktzahl gewinnt das Event. Wir sind überglücklich, Gymkhana wieder in die Reihe einzuführen und den Events in Dirt 5 einen neuen Kniff zu verleihen.

The entire team here at Codemasters is proud to have created a legacy of racing games that handle like a dream and recreate the thrill of motorsport. We don’t need to tell you that Dirt 5 is going to deliver big on exhilarating off-road racing gameplay, just like each game in the series has, all the way back to Colin McRae Rally in 1998. So, instead, let’s focus on something a little… different.
Surrounding that core gameplay in Dirt 5 will be a culture, a style, an approach, that makes it bigger than the sum of its parts. From how it looks, to how it sounds, to what you can be a part of, Dirt 5 is a vibe that, just maybe, you’ve never seen before from the franchise.

That’s the kind of stuff that’ll get people to take notice.
2. Style It Out
It’s all good and well telling you that we want to see your style, but what about the style of Dirt 5? Well, around every corner you’ll find features, both significant and subtle, that show this game as much about style as it is substance.
Our official announcement trailer certainly sets the tone. The bold colour schemes, in-your-face graphics and rhythmic transitions? Yeah, prepare for plenty more of that. The song featured – ‘Time To Dance (Sebastian Remix)’ by The Shoes – kicks off a dynamic soundtrack that we can’t wait to share more about. Then there are the cars: GT heroes, rough-and-ready buggies, classic rally legends and so much more kicking off a stylish roster. Some are even dripped in incredible one-off liveries, designed by world-renowned digital artists who we brought into the fold. Even the locations revealed in the trailer (New York, China, Norway) are flexing with extreme weather, stunning vistas and dynamic time of day options.
TL;DR – every aspect of Dirt 5 is crafted with style in mind. You get the picture.

Clearly then, Dirt 5 is about being part of something big – and that theme rings no truer than in Career mode.

Our Career mode drops you into a deep narrative-driven experience, with a star-studded voice cast led by the legendary Troy Baker and Nolan North, partnered by icons of the automotive and car culture world.
In a journey filled with famous names, big personalities and major obstacles, the focus is on you to make sure nobody ever forgets your name, through fearless racing and extreme skill. Baker, North and others will set the scene for you to rise from obscurity to infamy, but not everyone you meet is willing to share the spotlight. The world of Dirt 5 is yours for the taking. At the core of Dirt 5’s vibe is a desire to be expressive, creative and playful – online or offline, racing solo or with friends.
Fill the couch and play offline modes in split screen for up to four players, creating epic action-packed events. Online, throw down against the globe in race events, as well as more innovative modes we’ll reveal more on very soon.
