We were so inspired by the TwitchCon Cosplay Contest finalists that we decided to dust off the sewing machine and raid the local hardware store, only to find ourselves in a sticky situation. Don’t wind up like us with your Glitch superglued to your clothes and a glitter explosion. Check out this month’s spotlight to learn from some seasoned cosplay pros: RandomTuesday, EvilTed, and LittleSparkz!
RandomTuesday has always loved making costumes and enjoys any excuse to dress up. Once she discovered cosplay, she was hooked! Her current project is a set of full size wings for her Ever After ball gown. Outside of cosplay, RandomTuesday likes to play tabletop RPGs and indie video games. Hop into her stream and join The Legion: a positive place full of puns, pins and airship pirates so peek at your peril!
EvilTed has been making cool creations since 1989. Vampire Hunter D always held a special place in his heart and after gaining experience over the years, he was finally able to make his dream costume. Currently, he’s working on a character of his own design: a take on a fantasy warrior like you’d see in a video game. Join his stream to chat with a great community of fellow creators who love to teach and learn from each other.
After admiring the craft of cosplay for a long time, LittleSparkz decided to jump straight in at BlizzCon 2014. Sparkz’s latest costume was Mystic Kingdoms Arthas, which won the armor category at TwitchCon, and 4th place at Blizzcon this year. Her favorite costume is Master Chromie because it allows her to get very in character and bring smiles to people’s faces. Tune in to her streams for cosplay tips, fantasy games, and joining an active and fun chat community.
The full schedule for all of the front page streams is below:
Would you like your channel to be featured as part of the Cosplay Showcase? You can apply by going to fill out this form! And don’t forget to check out the finalists for the TwitchCon Cosplay Contest here!
Get ready to rush for one billion yards, because this week’s Twitch Prime Legend is Seahawks LT Walter Jones, with an 83 OVR!
Big Walt was a GOAT offensive linemen. He was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and a four-time All-Pro. He was called for holding only six times in his career, and gave up just 23 sacks in 5,500 pass attempts. He made the Hall of Fame, obv. And when the Hawks retired his number, the governor declared April 30th “Walter Jones Day” in the state of Washington. Having your own holiday while you’re still alive? Add that to his list of accomplishments.
Now, Big Walt is a Big Dad to his 17-year-old twins while living the retired life in the PNW. He also teaches young Seahawks how to manage their finances as part of the team’s rookie-transition program. Because if there’s one thing Walt knows, it’s how to Get. That. Money.

Ever thought about what you’d say to your viewers if you could customize the message your followers see when you start a stream? If not, the time is now: custom Go Live Notifications are here!
You can now personalize the way you announce your stream is live. So, no more generic “[Insert your name] is live…” Instead, your fans will get custom messages like “Sup fam? Come watch my stream!” or whatever you want it to be. This new feature lets you connect with your viewers in a way that’s much more you.
Just keep it clean.
Please note: You can only access this customization feature on desktop web. It will be available in all countries, languages, and web browsers. For more information, check out this help article.
How do I customize my Go Live message?
1. Go to twitch.tv on desktop web and log into your Twitch account. 2. Go to your Profile and click on ‘Dashboard.’ 3. Once you’re on your dashboard, click to the ‘Live’ tab. 4. Under the ‘Stream Information’ section, you’ll be able to add custom text for your Go Live Notification. 5. Ensure your custom text is 140 characters or less (in any language). 6. Scroll down and click ‘Update Information’ once you’re done. 7. Then head over to OBS or any other broadcasting software and go live. The custom Go Live notification will then get sent to all of your followers.
Burning questions:
Q: Is there moderation for these custom Go Live Notifications? Yes. Automod is enabled to ensure you follow the terms of service, e.g. no profanity. If your viewers find any of the custom Go Live Notifications offensive, moderation reporting tools will be available for them to report the notification.
Q: What if I want to send a second custom Go Live message? There is a four-hour cool down period, which means you can only send one Go Live Notification every four hours. In order to send a second custom Go Live Notification, you will have to go offline, update the text in the Go Live section on your dashboard, and then go back online.
Q: Where can my followers see my custom Go Live messages? Your followers will be able to see your custom Go Live message on-site as well as on iOS and android devices via mobile push. It is not yet available through the desktop app or browser notifications.
To celebrate the launch of their new 24/7 channel on Twitch, Machinima is inviting all of us over for a nice chicken dinner.
They’ve already been on Twitch for a while, but now Machinima is taking their programming to the next level by featuring curated gaming and fandom content 24/7, along with two hours of live original programming every weekday at 11:00 am & 4:00 pm PT. Much more on that soon, but first, dinner’s ready…
Machinima is hosting a good ol’ fashioned LAN party on Twitch. On Friday November 10, check out /Machinima from noon to 1:30pm PT to catch the Legion LAN Party, a live PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds event, sponsored by Lenovo. Five professional gamers will go head to head as they chat and banter about PUBG, their different gameplay styles, and more.
Hosts Chloe Dykstra and Brandon Winfrey will be your guides for the afternoon, so you’re in good hands. Come watch GhostRobo, EvilViking13, BigJigglyPanda, Fightin Cowboy, and I AM WILDCAT face off in one of today’s most popular shooters.
Once the PUBG madness comes to an end, stick around and check out Machinima’s nonstop gaming and fandom content. Their playlist includes some of their “‘best of”’ gaming and animation shows such as Body Count Fighting, Morty Kombat, and League Bits, plus the previously mentioned brand new live content. This includes VR Power Hour (a show dedicated to, you guessed it, virtual reality), ETC Party Time (ETC’s Ricky and Eliot get their game on with a rotating cast of guest creators), Spacebar (a nerd culture talk show), and Games With Shibby (Shibby2142 plays the hottest gaming titles so you don’t have to), among other great stuff.
Joining Machinima with 24/7 channels are /FailArmy, /IGN1, and more! FailArmy is hosting a marathon of the top 250 fails of all time to support charity this Veteran’s Day, so tune in, laugh, and do some good!
We’ll keep you posted about special events going forward, but until then, check the “Always On” directory for the latest nonstop content on Twitch.
Launching today: buying Bits in our mobile apps. Coming Soon: Subscription Gifting and Bits purchase with PayPal.
Hey, Twitch community. I don’t think we say it enough: we love all the streamers out there who make Twitch the amazing place that it is. We know you do too. Many of us show that love by subscribing to support our favorite streamers month after month. Others Cheer with Bits to show love when we feel inspired in the moment. Lots of you do both!
Some of you haven’t joined the party, and we totally get it. Maybe you’re watching Twitch on your mobile phone where buying Bits is hard. Maybe you want to Cheer but you don’t have a credit card. Maybe you want to welcome friends into your favorite community but you’re not sure how.
Starting today, all of that changes.
Over the next couple of months, we’re making it easier for you to support your favorite streamers by launching three new features that build bridges, give you more freedom, and allow you to extend a hand to your fellow community members. So, what are they?
Launching today: buying Bits in our mobile apps. Coming Soon: Subscription Gifting and Bits purchase with PayPal.
Over the next couple of weeks, in-app Bits purchase will roll out gradually to our iOS and Android mobile app users in about 40 countries across the globe (check the FAQ for the full list). If you don’t see the purchase option right away, do not despair. It may take a couple of weeks to reach everyone. Also, make sure you have the latest version of our mobile app installed.
Once you have this feature, you can tap the Bits gem at the bottom of chat to see a new “Buy Bits” button. Tap it to see the Bits bundles and select one.
Next you’ll go through your iOS or Android purchase flow to buy the bundle you choose. Bits pricing in our mobile apps is higher to account for the fees associated with in-app purchases, but desktop pricing will still be available on mobile devices at bits.twitch.tv.
We’re excited to offer you the freedom to choose where, when, and how you buy your Bits in order to celebrate great moments on Twitch and show love to your favorite streamers.
Remember, this is the only the first of three features we’re launching. Still coming soon are Bits purchase with PayPal and Subscription Gifting!
FAQ
Why do Bits cost more in the mobile apps?
A. There are costs associated with selling items on mobile platforms. We want to offer you the option to buy Bits in our apps, while preserving the same 1 cent per Bit that is paid out to streamers when you Cheer with Bits in their channels, and in order to do that, the price has to reflect the added costs. You always have the option to buy Bits at desktop prices on your mobile device by going to bits.twitch.tv in your mobile web browser.
I was already able to buy Bits on my Android device for the past few months. What changed?
A. Once we launched bits.twitch.tv, we connected Android app users to that page, but it was not a native mobile app purchase. We wanted to provide our Android users the same seamless experience we are offering our iOS users, so we’ve updated the Android app to include native in-app purchase. Unfortunately, due to tax reasons, some countries like Canada are not supported with this new integration. If your country is not supported with our new in-app purchase flow, you can still buy Bits at bits.twitch.tv by using a mobile web browser.
In which countries will we be able to purchase Bits using Twitch’s mobile apps?
A. iOS —Albania, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States.
A. Android —Albania, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, United States.

Have you ever discovered a cool show and thought…I could watch this all night if it had Twitch chat? Dumb question, of course you have.
We have too. That’s why we’re psyched to share a few new channels on Twitch that feature non-stop programming 24/7. We recently announced FailArmy and The Pet Collective’s channels, and now IGN and CONtv are among the latest brands to offer shows around the clock.
When you need a quick video game and pop culture fix, IGN1 will bring you Let’s Plays, previews, industry news, and more. And CONtv has you covered with nonstop cult classics like He-Man and Death Race 2000.
If you’ve been a part of any of our previous marathons like Power Rangers, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Bob Ross, you don’t need us to tell you that it’s way more fun to watch something when you’re sharing the experience through chat and not watching the clock. No matter what’s on, from cooking shows to cat videos, you all have a way of making it even better by viewing it together.
That’s why we’re excited these brands are bringing the 24/7 shared viewing experience to more of your favorite shows and clips, as well as some potential new favorites. These channels, plus others like Rifftrax and Baeble, are located under the “Always On” category on the directory page. They’re all live right now and, of course, we saved you a seat.
This week, in honor of Veterans Day (Nov 11), we’re showing love and appreciation to veterans and their communities all week! We’ll be highlighting a variety of Partners on the front page, and engaging with our community on social media. Further below in this blog, we’ve also provided a list of awesome charities that support vets!
Congrats to the amazing team over at #TheRace for raising over $250,000 for the Call of Duty Endowment, which helps veterans find great jobs over the past weekend!
Featured Veterans
To kick things off, here’s a list of entertaining vets you should watch and follow this week. And what the heck, throw them a sub! (Let me go ahead and torpedo your submarine jokes right here.)
Operation Supply Drop identifies and addresses the underlying needs of veterans and their families.
Stack-Up.Org brings both veterans and civilian supporters together through a shared love of video gaming.
Team Rubicon is an international disaster response nonprofit that unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly provide relief to communities in need.
The Mission Continues empowers veterans who are adjusting to life at home to find purpose through community impact. They deploy veterans on new missions in their communities, so that their actions will inspire future generations to serve.
Don’t call it a comeback! This week’s Twitch Prime Legend in Madden Ultimate Team is Buffalo Bills WR Andre Reed, with an 83 OVR!
From 1985–1999, Reed pwned opposing D’s with his shifty moves, sticky hands and clutch plays. He ranks near the top in nearly all NFL career receiving categories, ranking 10th in receptions, 9th in receiving yards and 11th in TD’s. He cemented his legend status in a 1993 playoff game against the Houston Oilers nicknamed “The Comeback”. Reed caught three touchdowns in the second half and helped his team come back from 32 points down. Okay, maybe do call that a comeback.
He now owns his own line of Food Products called ‘Over the Middle’ and runs The Andre Reed Foundation which helps underprivileged children reach their full potential. He’s basically one of those guys that’s so good at life it makes you mad. Unless he’s on your Madden team. Then it’s pretty awesome.

November is a month of many exciting things: celebrations of food, family, friendship — and even beards. Here are four content ideas in the spirit of November that you can participate in and maybe even get discovered!
Participate in #NoShaveNovember
As autumn nights grow longer, so do the beards of many men this month. If you have (or plan on growing) a glorious beard or mustache in honor of #NoShaveNovember, it’s your time to shine! Upload your beard care technique videos, create a timelapse of your facial hair growth, or simply show us how you wear your beard, mustache, sideburns, muttonchops, etc., on your Twitch channel. Send us a tweet with your content hashtagging #NoShaveNovember and #TwitchLifestyle.
Looking to take your beard growing to the next level? Get involved in a charity raising awareness for men’s health:
Are you a magician in the kitchen? Nom your way through November by serving up some live cooking streams or uploaded videos to Twitch! Show off some pro tips.
Are you a vegan, vegetarian, or simply don’t like turkey? Show us your alternatives! Break out Grandma’s cookbook and share that secret cranberry sauce recipe so the rest of the world can enjoy it (unless it gets you banned from future family Thanksgivings).
Hashtag #TwitchLifestyle and #Thanksgiving, then send your content to @Twitch on Twitter!
3. Host #Friendsgiving
Thanksgiving is the ultimate social eating experience of the year. Spend it with family and/or gathering with streaming friends for a #Friendsgiving stream or Twitch vlog.
We want in on the festivities too, so be sure to share your Thanksgiving social eating content with us on Twitter using #Friendsgiving and #TwitchLifestyle.
4. Share what you’re thankful for
Create a video about those you are thankful for and upload it to your Twitch channel. Whether it’s your family, a best friend, a moderator, a significant other, or your entire community, let them know how grateful you are for their love and support.
Share it with us on Twitter @Twitch using #TwitchLifestyle and #Thanksgiving.
Raids were invented by creators as a fun way to help each other support and grow their communities. If you haven’t had the chance to start or join one yourself, here’s what you’re missing out on.
Embiggen!
We’re so proud of what you’ve done with Raids, and now we’re making Raids official so it’s even easier for everyone to join the party, grow their channels, and support other creators and communities they care about.
Here’s how it works:
Creators type /raid in chat followed by the channel name they want to raid.
Viewers see a chat message with a countdown and can click to join the raid.
When the countdown ends, the creator and all viewers who joined will be sent over to the other channel. The raided channel will be hosted automatically as well, so no more manual work is required!
Creators and moderators can see a list of channels that recently raided them in their chat gear settings. They can also moderate raids from this menu by using follower-only mode, or by adjusting their dashboard settings.
Got that? Great! Here’s how it all looks in action.
We’ve begun rolling out Raids today, and within the next two weeks it will be available for every user on Twitch. For all the info you could possibly want to know about Raids, check out our help page.
Happy raiding! We hope to see you, all of you, soon.

We hosted our first ever Developer Day at TwitchCon on October 19. The event was dedicated to helping game creators and stream-tool developers build their businesses in one of the largest and most engaged communities in the world.
Developers, your support was incredible. If you attended the event or watched the keynote online, thank you! And if you couldn’t make it (or if you need a refresher), that’s cool. We’ve got your back too. Today we’re recapping Developer Day, including the keynote and dozens of slides and videos covering Extensions, Drops, and more.
Let’s jump in.
The day featured three tracks of sessions — Games on Twitch, Building Streamer Tools, and Technical — that included speakers from Twitch, Lumberyard, and AWS, as well as Twitch streamers themselves.
We covered a wide variety of topics including Extensions, exciting new feature updates to our API, and how the best games on Twitch gained their popularity among streamers and viewers. Because of developers like yourself, the greater Twitch community will be able to engage in innovative streaming experiences.
The day kicked off with a keynote from Twitch’s CEO, Emmett Shear; VP Twitch Commerce and Developer Success, Ethan Evans; and VP Developer Platform, Kathy Astromoff, reiterating our commitment to make it easier for you — our developer community — to continue building the games and tools our streamers love. We also announced our plans to help developers generate revenue through digital item sales within Extensions, an AWS credit program to support Extensions developers, and updates to Extensions, the new Twitch API, and Drops.
Below you’ll find slides and videos for specific panels within all three tracks.
Slides | Video — Exploring the Intersection of Viewing and Playing Slides | Video — What Great Twitch Integrations Look Like Slides | Video — Why Game Developers Care About Twitch Slides | Video — Building a Community on Twitch While Building Your Game Slides | Video — Using Twitch to Differentiate Your Game with Streamers Slides | Video — Use Twitch Commerce and Twitch Prime to Fuel Your Community Slides | Video — Mods and UGC in Games
Slides | Video — The Future of the Developer Ecosystem on Twitch Slides | Video — Best Practices for Building Extensions Slides | Video — Building a Business on Twitch Extensions Slides | Video — Using Twitch Data to Improve Your Solution Slides | Video — How to Benefit from Building Extensions on AWS Slides | Video — Building Apps that Streamers Want Slides | Video — You’ve Got Questions, We’ve Got Answers

Add a defensive powerhouse to your roster with this week’s Twitch Prime Legend: Miami Dolphins sackmaster DE Jason Taylor, with an 83 OVR!
Plus, get a Most Feared pack with your Twitch Prime membership!
Drafted in the 3rd round by the Dolphins, Taylor Swift-ly made his mark on the NFL by sacking QB’s at an absurd frequency. Lineman tried to block him, but he was like “Shake it off”. He finished seventh on the all-time sack list with 139.5, had the most TD’s for any d-lineman ever with 9, and his 246 fumble return yards are the fourth-highest total in NFL history. Which makes sense. If a 6’6 Greek God was running at you down the field, would you try to tackle him? Probably not.
He was dynamite on the field, and charismatic off it. He even finished 2nd in Dancing With The Stars in 2008. Which shouldn’t surprise anyone. He had 139 sack dances to practice.
SPECIAL BONUS THIS WEEK : Twitch Prime members can also receive a Most Feared pack!

We’re making it easier to share your content beyond Twitch.
You can now embed your streams and VODs in an all-in-one iframe that lets your viewers watch video, chat, follow, and subscribe to your channel, all without leaving the embedded experience. While you can still use the standalone video and chat embed tools, the combined option is the only way to bring Twitch engagement and monetization to your own site.
The combined embed lets you share the Twitch experience anywhere you want to embed your content, whether that’s a live stream, a recorded video, or a collection of videos. Use the combined embed to reach members of your community who aren’t yet on Twitch, or grow your audience by creating your own branded destination.

The wait is over! We’re officially launching Webhooks, in Preview*. Gone are the days of constantly polling Twitch APIs for data updates. Now you can simply subscribe to a topic and get notified immediately when updates happen. And as a bonus, there’s no need to worry about rate limiting when waiting for updates.
We’re launching with a webhook notification for our current User Follows data. Get notified immediately when you receive new followers or when your favorite streamer finds someone new to follow.
This is the just the start of Webhooks at Twitch. Keep an eye on the roadmap for what’s coming next.
Have questions? We recommend you start with reading the W3 Spec for WebSub. We did our very best to adhere closely to this spec in order to give our developers a clear and consistent webhooks experience. Hopefully it gives you a great place to start. And of course, if you have more questions, the forums and TwitchDev chat are always open.
Games API and Videos Retrieval API
In addition to Webhooks, we’re releasing the Games API, which allows you to retrieve information for specific games, and the Videos Retrieval API, which allows you to retrieve information for specific videos.
When we released our first endpoints under Users and Streams, we told you the new Twitch API was the start of a big initiative to make an API we’d be excited to share and you’d be excited to use. This is just the beginning and we’re continuing to listen to your feedback.
We can’t wait to see what you build!
*Our definition of release stages can be found here.
From October 24th through November 1st, you can get Layers of Fear for FREE! If you’re not a Twitch Prime member, you can sign up for a free trial at twitchprime.com.
You take another drink as the canvas looms in front of you. A light flickers dimly in the corner. You’ve created countless pieces of art, but never anything like…this. Why haven’t you done this before? It seems so obvious in retrospect. Your friends, critics, business partners — soon, they’ll all see. But something’s still missing…
You look up, startled. That melody… Was that a piano? It sounded just like her… But, no — that would be impossible. She’s gone. They’re all gone. Have to focus. How long has it taken to get to this point? Too long, but it doesn’t matter. There will be no more distractions. It’s almost finished. You can feel it. Your creation. Your Magnum Opus.
Dare you help paint a true Masterpiece of Fear? Layers of Fear is a first-person psychedelic horror game with a heavy focus on story and exploration. Delve deep into the mind of an insane painter and discover the secret of his madness, as you walk through a vast and constantly changing Victorian-era mansion. Uncover the visions, fears and horrors that entwine the painter and finish the masterpiece he has strived so long to create.
Game Features: • Psychedelic horror — A sense of insanity means each turn of the camera may completely change the look of your surroundings. • Victorian setting — Explore a game world inspired by masterpiece paintings, architecture and décor from the 19th century. • Original and classic art — Numerous pieces of original art and music flesh out the story and environment. • Story-focused exploration — Only through exploring the environment can you uncover the details of the painter’s dark and tragic past.

Nintendo:
Gaming wo man will und wann man will und wie man will.
PlayStation:
