25 Celebrities Who Will Surprise You With Their Secret Talents

    Reading Time: < 1 minute

Celebrities live under a microscope. Yet some of them have managed to hide a secret talent. Well, maybe they weren’t hiding it, the media just chose to focus on other things about them.

Some of these people started painting before fame, some discovered art later in life. Some have been painting under a pseudonym for years and you might have heard of them already. For instance, Lucy Liu first started showing her work under the pseudonym Yu Ling in 1993 but is now exhibiting work under her real name.

We did a bit of digging and were amazed about how multi-talented some celebrities are. Our biggest surprise was perhaps Sylvester Stallone whom we usually imagine as Rambo, fighting hundreds of bad guys. Take a look at the list below and tell us, who do you think should give up their careers and become a full-time artist?

3D Drawings That I Create To Confuse People (Part 4)

    Reading Time: 3 minutes

I am a self-taught, 32 year old guy from Serbia. Actively engaged in drawing less than 5 years. They said that I always had a talent for drawing, but I didn’t have interest for this.

I started drawing portraits and it was hard, there were great artists which in this holy will never achieve (maybe one day), so I decided to draw something different, something rear. 3D is something what people like and I want to be the best at this. I am using colored pencils, markers and pastel. Inspiration is everywhere, just need to catch it.

Flying Birds Always Aroused My Admiration, Which Is Why I Want To Illustrate Them

    Reading Time: 3 minutes

Each bird flies differently. Eagles majestically soar, the flight of a Hoopoe is like a butterfly flight, it looks like it’s swimming in the air. The flight of the hummingbird is like a small helicopter, hovers in the air and even flies in the reverse direction.

Birds is an infinite treasure of inspiration for me, that’s why, for a few years, I can not stop painting them and admire them. Binoculars, a brush, beautiful weather and a bird that I can observe and paint, for me, is full of happiness.

You can also see my previous watercolor birds here and here.

Challenge Has Been Successfully Completed! I Just Finished My Watercolor Calendar

    Reading Time: 2 minutes

About a month ago I wrote here on Bored Panda that I had started my personal challenge for painting 12 landscapes for my watercolor calendar. And finally they are ready! And yes, it wasn’t so easy at it seems. But sometimes we have to get out of the comfort zone to improve our skills!

I made one more conclusion based on this challenge: if you really like something and want to bring your idea to life, you will do it. You will find the time, strength, energy and opportunities, even if it seems impossible!

Best wishes for the upcoming New Year!

  • ELLE Brazil Recreates 5 Iconic Paintings With Real People, And The Results Are Impressive

ELLE Brazil Recreates 5 Iconic Paintings With Real People, And The Results Are Impressive

    Reading Time: 3 minutes

We’ve seen many recreations of famous artwork over the last couple of years, each time breathing new life into all-too-familiar landscapes. The purpose of each recreation differs from one another, bringing out the details and ideas one might not have noticed before. The team behind ELLE Brasil decided to pay a tribute to the most famous pieces of artwork with a statement that art is the antidote to negativity in life.

The magazine invited world famous Brazillian figures to help them recreate the art pieces. They chose actress Sonia Braga to replicate the famous smile of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa with a recreation that represents timeless beauty. The gentle femininity in Sandro Botticelli’s Birth Of Venus was embodied by transgender model Lea T. Love was captured in Gustav Klimt’s recreation of The Kiss with actors Tais Araujo and Lázaro Ramos holding one another all wrapped up in gold. The magazine turned the mood of Edvard Munch’s The Scream upside down by letting Brazilian theater legend José Celso Martinez Corrêa scream of joy rather than fear. The picture of composer Caetano Veloso that pays homage to David Hockney’s Joiners symbolizes the movement and perspective that art brings to life.

Scroll down to see the side-by-side comparisons of the famous originals and the beautiful covers of the magazine, which hits the stands the coming Monday.

  • Britney Spears Sells Her Painting For $10,000

Britney Spears Sells Her Painting For $10,000

    Reading Time: 4 minutes

Britney Spears is a true American sweetheart, and just recently, she painted a bunch of pretty flowers in watercolor and sold them for $10,000 at an auction benefiting the victims of last month’s tragic shooting in Las Vegas. It’s the purest thing and people are trampling all over it.

Look, we get it. The woman is no Picasso. But something about those simple pink and blue petals just takes us back to the good old days of art class and Paint By Numbers, and the fact that she did it for charity makes it all the more commendable. “The flowers in my painting represent a new beginning, and it’s in that spirit that we move forward,” Britney stated about the tableau, which went on to sell at the Vegas Cares auction to Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous star Robin Leach.

Despite how unbelievably heartwarming this story is, some people still can’t move past the ‘ugly’ and ‘childish’ look of the painting. “I could paint better blindfolded with my toes,” one user callously commented. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, though, so we’re leaving this in your hands. Scroll down to see Britney’s magnum opus, and let us know what you make of all this calamity in the comments.

Britney Spears is clearly a woman of many talents! She recently created a watercolor painting for a good cause

Watercolor Artist And Home Brewer Creates Cute Drawings Of Animals Chilling Out In Booze

    Reading Time: 4 minutes

Jon Guerdrum loves to paint things that make people smile. His About Page on Etsy states: “I hope my art brings a grin to your face, and a giggle to your heart!” He works as senior mechanical engineer at Otter Products but spends time making his own art as much as possible.

Guerdrum lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, which he describes as “a land of great mountains, fantastic beer, and wonderful people.” In addition to painting, he enjoys hiking, biking, and camping, plus of course a good beer through the many local breweries. Home brewing is a hobby of his, and he also plays in a band called Spaceagle.

The artist’s watercolor and ink “Drinking Buddies” series illustrates the good vibes that ensue from imbibing. Guerdrum says his cat named Yeti is his biggest critic and inspiration.
