    Take Cult Customization to the Next Level in Cult of the Lamb’s Free Sins of the Flesh Update

    Cult of the Lamb’s next free update is preparing to slither into our dimension on January 16. Sins of the Flesh is our biggest expansion yet, adding a bounty of wicked new content—including a new Sin resource that lets you perform the darkest Rituals yet. Whether you’re knocking back a cool glass of Poop Juice or sneaking into the Mating Tent, there are lots more ways to be bad in this unholy update.

    There’s a cult-load of fresh, awesome stuff in Sins of the Flesh, but there’s one new feature in particular that leaders who love customizing their flock will get an extra kick out of. Joining Cult of the Lamb’s cast of eccentric characters is Berith, a silkworm clothes maker. After meeting them, a new upgrade in the Divine Inspiration tree will be revealed and will allow you to build a Tailor in your cult’s base.

    You can then use gathered materials to craft new outfits for your followers, decking them out in the hottest occult fashion. Some outfits can be customized too, letting you switch between different colors and variants. Unlock new threads by embarking on Crusades or performing certain actions—such as sinking a heroic number of drinks at the Drinkhouse, a brand new base structure. Here a follower can become a bartender, mixing up drinks and serving them to the cult to generate Sin.

    The Drinkhouse and other sinful new structures will earn you Sin, which can then be used to unlock Doctrines and perform some of the gnarliest Rituals Cult of the Lamb has ever seen. You can also make the most of love connections between followers and birth new ones in the Mating Tent—or just crack the egg and harvest the yolks, you monster. But wait, that’s not all Sins of the Flesh has to offer.

    Thanks to a selection of savvy quality of life improvements, Sins of the Flesh also makes the day-to-day business of running your cult less of a chore. Now, as you clean up after your messy followers by sweeping up poop, vomit, and burnt food, your mop will gradually level up and become more powerful. The stronger it gets, the faster it sweeps. That’s right, baby: unlockable mops! Ten of ’em!

    We’ll also accept thanks in advance for the new follower auto-level feature. When you declare a Doctrine or perform a Sermon or Ritual that upgrades your followers’ level of loyalty, anyone with a full loyalty bar will automatically upgrade to the next level. We’ve also sped up Sermons, added huge new high-level storage structures, and a heap of other new improvements designed to streamline your experience.

    In Massive Monster and Devolver Digital’s Cult of the Lamb, players take on the role of the Lamb, a cutesy cult leader and adorable harbinger of doom, saved from death to serve The One Who Waits. Players embark on crusades through randomly generated dungeons filled with hordes of monsters and false prophets, to find new followers and resources to bring back to their cult.

    Of course, what is a shepherd without a flock? Back home you must indoctrinate any new followers into the cult. You can customize them, build new structures, and perform great sermons in your temple – letting you draw power from your followers to grow stronger for your next crusade.

    To run a successful and productive cult you must keep your followers healthy and their faith in you high. They have needs that must be met otherwise they will become unhappy – and eventually turn against you. Build homes so they have somewhere to sleep at night, grow crops and cook meals to keep them fed and happy…

    …and make sure you clean up their poop.

    What goes in must come out! Followers will leave waste that must be cleaned up, or they can get sick and eventually die. In the beginning, it will be the job of the humble Lamb to ensure your community remains clean and tidy. However, as the cult grows you will unlock structures that make it easier to maintain, and eventually become self-sustaining. Outhouses will give followers some privacy and a place to do their business, and janitor stations will let you assign followers the job of keeping the place tidy – so you don’t have to.

    Remember those crops you were growing? Well, waste not want not! Poop you collect can be used to fertilize farm plots, to maximize their output and grow juicy bumper crops. Build a farmer station and some silos, and followers will plant new seeds and then fertilize them for you. As the mighty Lamb you should make your cult members do the dirty work for you! Poop can even be used in culinary experimentation… not that anyone would do that, right?

    In Cult of the Lamb von Massive Monster und Devolver Digital schlüpfen Spieler in die Rolle des Lammes. Dieser niedliche Kultanführer und entzückende Vorbote des Untergangs wurde vor dem Tod gerettet, um seinem Gott, The One Who Waits, zu dienen. Die Spieler begeben sich auf Kreuzzüge durch zufällig generierte Dungeons voller Monster und falscher Propheten, um neue Anhänger und Ressourcen zu finden, die sie zu ihrem Kult zurückbringen können.

    Natürlich ist ein Hirte nichts ohne seine Herde. Nach eurer Rückkehr müsst ihr neue Anhänger in den Kult integrieren. Ihr könnt das Aussehen euer Schäfchen anpassen, neue Strukturen aufbauen und mitreißende Predigten in eurem Tempel halten. Die Anbetung eurer Anhänger gibt euch Kraft für euren nächsten Kreuzzug.

    Um einen erfolgreichen und produktiven Kult zu führen, müsst ihr eure Anhänger gesund halten und ihr Vertrauen in euch bewahren. Sie haben Bedürfnisse, die erfüllt werden müssen, sonst werden sie unglücklich – und wenden sich schließlich gegen euch. Baut Häuser, damit eure Anhänger nachts ein Dach über dem Kopf haben, legt Gemüsegärten an und bereitet Mahlzeiten zu, sodass sie satt und glücklich bleiben …

    … und vergesst nicht, ihre Kackehaufen wegzuräumen.

    Was reingeht, muss auch wieder herauskommen. Eure Anhänger hinterlassen dreckige Häufchen, die unbedingt entfernt werden müssen, da sie sonst zu Krankheit und Tod führen können. Am Anfang ist es die Aufgabe des kleinen Lammes selbst, dafür zu sorgen, dass eure Gemeinschaft sauber und ordentlich bleibt. Wenn der Kult jedoch wächst, schaltet ihr Strukturen frei, die es einfacher machen, die Gemeinde zu pflegen. Später im Spiel verwaltet sich die Gemeinschaft sogar selbst. In Klohäuschen haben eure Anhänger etwas Privatsphäre und einen Platz, um ihre Geschäfte zu erledigen, und an den Hausmeisterstationen könnt ihr einzelnen Anhängern die Aufgabe zuweisen, den Ort ordentlich zu halten – so müsst ihr euch um nichts mehr kümmern.

    Erinnert ihr euch noch an die Gemüsegärten, die ihr angelegt habt? Hier findet sich eine würdige Verwendung für eure Häufchen. Aufgesammelte Kacke kann verwendet werden, um landwirtschaftliche Parzellen zu düngen, ihre Leistung zu maximieren und saftige Rekordernten anzubauen. Baut eine Bauernstation und einige Silos, um Anhänger dafür einzuteilen, neue Samen einzupflanzen und für euch zu düngen. Als mächtiges Lamm solltet ihr die Drecksarbeit ruhig euren Anhängern überlassen! Kacke kann sogar in kulinarischen Experimenten verwendet werden … aber das würde euch im Leben nicht einfallen, nicht wahr?
