Ever since we got an up close and personal look at the game during E3 2019, we’ve been eagerly awaiting more news on Square Enix’s upcoming super-powered slugfest Marvel’s Avengers. After all, what’s not to love about a game that lets you suit up as Earth’s mightiest heroes and battle baddies with your besties? That’s why we’re so excited to share today’s big news that Marvel’s Avengers will be launching with Xbox Series X this holiday and will support cross-generational play, allowing Xbox Series X players to play with their friends on Xbox One.
For those that don’t know, here are the basics: Marvel’s Avengers is an epic, third-person, action-adventure game that combines an original, cinematic story with single-player and co-operative gameplay. You’ll be able to assemble into a team of up to four players online, master extraordinary abilities, customize a growing roster of Heroes, and defend the Earth from escalating threats.
Naturally, all of your favorite heroes will be in on the action, including Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America, and fan favorite Kamala Khan (also known as Ms. Marvel). In addition to the heroes, you’ll battle notable villains, visit iconic locations, and use awesome powers set in an original story. There will also be new heroes added to the mix after the game’s release, as well as new villains and narrative adventures.
As mentioned above, the game will be available for both Xbox One and Xbox Series X. By leveraging the new Xbox Smart Delivery technology, we can confirm that if you buy Marvel’s Avengers on Xbox One or Xbox Series X, you will automatically have the best version at no additional cost on whichever console you’re playing on.
We’ll be bringing you more news on Marvel’s Avengers in the weeks and months leading up to launch, so stay tuned to Xbox Wire for the latest.
