With The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr now live on Xbox One, TESO players can explore the ancient and dangerous homeland of the Khajiit. This massive chapter brings a ton of content for both new and veteran players alike, but here are our top five reasons you should experience the warm sands of Elsweyr for yourself!
Hunt Down Dragons
For the first time ever, dragons invade TESO. Freed from the Halls of Colossus, monstrous dragons now stalk the skies and bring ruin upon the native Khajiit of Elsweyr. As you explore the new zone, you can see the beasts soaring above. However, should you hunt them down to their chosen landing site; you and your fellow adventurers can try to destroy them for unique rewards.
Of course, these are dragons we’re talking about, armed with tooth and claw and fire, so come prepared with a war party of your own. Thankfully, it’s easy to see where Dragon Hunts are occurring on the Elsweyr map, so you and your fellow adventurers can easily converge for the fight. Good luck!
Discover Khajiiti Life and Culture
In Northern Elsweyr, you can see how the Khajiit live in their homeland. In previous Elder Scrolls games, you mostly encountered them as nomads, traveling Tamriel as merchants, sellswords, or other, less scrupulous occupations. In TESO: Elsweyr, you’ll experience the heart and foundation of Khajiiti culture and home life.
In the new zone, you venture through winding canyons, tepid forests, magnificent palaces and temples, and humble moon-sugar farmsteads. The Khajiit’s ancient past is buried in the ruins that lie beneath, and when you see it for yourself, you’ll gain an appreciation for the history and mythology of Tamriel’s cat people.
Take Your Team into Sunspire
If the zone’s Dragon Hunts aren’t tricky enough, you and your strongest 11 allies can find a greater challenge in the zone’s new trial, Sunspire. In Sunspire, you fight to free an ancient temple from the influence of three powerful dragons who claim to be the gods of Khajiiti myth! As you traverse the ancient steps of the Temple of the First Cat, you must battle waves of their most-devoted followers and eventually face each unique dragon head-to-head. Be warned, though: You and your team must work together to overcome this challenging (but rewarding!) end-game activity.
If you’ve never experienced TESO’s end-game trials before, don’t worry! With the new Guild Finder tool that came with the Update 22 base-game patch, you can now search for guilds of all types and levels, ensuring that you can find a home for whatever activity you like! You can even create your own guild and use it to recruit. Look for the Guild Finder tool under your Guilds UI—have fun!
Master the Dark Arts
TESO: Elsweyr also brings an all-new class for you to master: the Necromancer. When playing as a Necromancer, you gain access to three skill lines that allow you to summon the undead, encase yourself in impenetrable bone armor, empower your abilities by using the corpses of your enemies, and even heal and resurrect your allies!
With the Necromancer class, death itself is a weapon, but be warned, the practice of the dark arts in Tamriel is still largely frowned upon by most “civilized” cultures. This means that if you openly cast certain necromantic spells within sight of guards or some NPCs, you’ll be branded a criminal and hunted! Untold power awaits those who manipulate the souls of the dead, but such power always comes at a cost.
An Epic ‘Season of the Dragon’ Story
TESO: Elsweyr is part of the year-long Season of the Dragon storyline that started with the Wrathstone DLC released early this year. If you haven’t completed the earlier DLC and Elsweyr Prologue Quest, though, don’t worry! You can still pick up Elsweyr and jump right in to the adventure without worry of what came before.
In TESO: Elsweyr, both Imperial invaders and their army of undead plus a rampaging rage of dragons threaten the Khajiit. Even worse, it appears that they’re all working together for some dread purpose.
In this epic story, you encounter new and old allies, and together, you must help the besieged Khajiiti defenders deal with the Imperial necromancers and the dragon threat before the war spreads beyond Elsweyr and into Tamriel.
The ancient homeland of the Khajiit is ready to be explored in TESO: Elsweyr, now available on Xbox One. While the activities detailed above outline some of the adventures you can experience in this new chapter, you have plenty of additional things to see and do in Northern Elsweyr.
This includes brand-new Delves and Public Dungeons to explore, a ton of unique stand-alone quests to complete, and countless stunning locations and environments to experience. When you set foot in Elsweyr, the ancient and mysterious world of Tamriel’s beloved cat people opens up to you like never before in the Elder Scrolls series—may Bright Moons light your path!
The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr is available now for Xbox One on the Microsoft Store. It requires the base game The Elder Scrolls Online to play which is available with Xbox Game Pass and available on the Microsoft Store.
