March is just around the corner, along with spring and some really great games. Let’s see what’s coming to PS Plus next week!
First up, we have the award-winning action RPG Bloodborne. Hunt your nightmares as you search for answers in the ancient city of Yharnam, now cursed with a strange endemic illness spreading through the streets like wildfire. Danger, death and madness lurk around every corner of this dark and horrific world, and you must discover its darkest secrets in order to survive.
Next, we have Ratchet & Clank. Get acquainted (or reacquainted) with some of the greatest heroes in PlayStation history. Based on elements from the original Ratchet & Clank (PS2), Ratchet & Clank brings Insomniac’s classic, out-of-this-world-gameplay to the PS4. Join Ratchet, Clank, Captain Qwark, and their new friends as they battle to save the Solana Galaxy. Armed with an arsenal of original weapons the franchise is renowned for, including the new Pixelizer and fan-favorites like the dance-party-inducing Groovitron, you’ll explore the galaxy and get a deeper look at the origin story of these two beloved characters.
This month’s PlayStation Plus lineup also includes:
For fans of Dungeon Defenders II, we also have the Dungeon Defenders PS Plus Pack available starting March 13 to April 10 for PS Plus members. This pack contains 4 Shadow Costumes, 1 Million in gold, 5 Campaign Shard Packs, 5 Defender Packs, and a Ninja Gato Pet. Get your hands on this PS Plus Pack and jump into the action.
We also have an important service update. Starting next year on March 8, 2019, the PS Plus monthly games lineup will focus on PS4 titles and no longer include PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita titles. This won’t affect any games you’ve already downloaded, or will download, prior to March 8, 2019. Those games will still be part of your PS Plus games library as long as you remain a member. Your game saves and other benefits of PS Plus will also remain the same – the only change is that no new PS3 and PS Vita games will be added to the PS Plus monthly games lineup beyond March 8, 2019.
Many of our fans are playing on the PS4 platform, with the increasingly vast number of PS4s in homes around the world. We’ll continue to prioritize the benefits you receive through your PS Plus membership, such as online multiplayer, online game save storage, PS4 monthly games, and exclusive PS Store discounts across content and network services. As a reminder, if you do not wish to continue your subscription, please be sure to cancel it by turning off auto-renewal in your account settings before March 8, 2019.
There are plenty of new games and exclusive PS Store discounts to come for PS Plus members, and we look forward to sharing this with you in our ongoing monthly blog posts. As always, we thank you for your continued support.

Your top downloads for January are here! Surprising nobody, Monster Hunter: World was the most-downloaded PS4 game of January. The first PS4 entry in Capcom’s long-running series launched to critical acclaim, and players worldwide (myself included) are hooked on its expertly tuned gameplay loop.
We’re adding a new chart to the post starting this month: Top Free-to-Play Games. Including these titles in the overall charts would skew things a bit since, ya know… they’re free, but with fan favorites like Fortnite and Warframe regularly pulling in big numbers it feels wrong not to have them represented here.
As always, the rankings here are determined based on number of downloads, not by revenue generated, and if you’re curious to try and of them out you can nab ’em over at PlayStation Store. Until next time!

Hello? Who’s there?
Two years ago we had the privilege of bringing Risk of Rain to PlayStation platforms. Hundreds of thousands of players spent countless hours repeatedly dying and failing to leave the planet. Since then, we’ve been hard at work bringing our second game over to our new fans at Sony. Today, we’re happy to announce that Hopoo Games have partnered up again with Code Mystics to deliver you a violent experience on PS4 and PS Vita: Deadbolt.
Deadbolt is an extremely challenging stealth-action hybrid taking place somewhere between life and death. You play as the reaper, tasked with a singular mission: to kill all undead. While the reaper has an impressive arsenal and skillset to kill the undead, he has one vulnerability — he dies in one shot… leaving you with no room for error.
Each mission is designed to be completed in many different ways and support diverse playstyles. Want to go in loud? Blast through the buildings with your flashbang and shotgun. However, if stealth is your thing, suppressed weapons may be your new best friend.
Completing missions will earn you souls that can be used to unlock weapons from Charon’s arsenal tailored to your specific playstyle, such as Crossbows, Scythes, or a Semi-Auto Shotgun.
Deadbolt will release on both PS4 and PS Vita with cross-buy support on February 20, 2018. So get your revolver and lighter ready, and…
Knock knock.

Next up is the family friendly adventure game Knack. Take control of Knack and his signature size-shifting abilities to protect the world from a dangerous threat – the invading Goblin Army. Knack is a fun-filled adventure that lets players wield fantastic powers and discover a uniquely vibrant world.
This month’s PlayStation Plus lineup also includes:
Just as a reminder, all PlayStation Plus members can get Starblood Arena as a bonus game through March 6. This arena combat game was built from the ground up to be played in VR with your PS VR headset*. Attack, evade, and move in any direction as you compete against pilots from across the galaxy. You’ll fight for glory, credits, and your life.
Lastly, for all Gems of War fans, get your hands on the new PlayStation Plus Starter Pack starting February 13th through March 13th. Iconoclasts is less than two weeks away, arriving January 23, 2018! It will be available at PlayStation Store for both PS4 and PS Vita, with crossbuy!
You play as an optimistic young mechanic named Robin, following her through a life of wanting to help those that remain in her life, using mechanical services she is not allowed to perform, according to the law of the world. There’s plenty of platforming, solving things and meeting people, but what will frequently be the focus of the game are boss battles!
I’ve been known to love a good boss in the games I’ve made. They are the exam at the end of training for an action game, at best combining the things you last learned and testing your merit, or just being an entertaining culmination of the parts that have come before.
So, Iconoclasts is no stranger to them! There are more in there than I even planned when development started. As advertised, there are over 20 running about (don’t want to spoil the exact number, of course), and their styles range from figuring out where to shoot them, where to twist them, just shooting them a whole lot, running from them, running at them or several of these at once.
As you play, you’ll learn to master Robin’s wrench. It can do what you expect, like twist your classic bolt, but also can be used to protect yourself from projectiles, and deflect attacks back at your opponents. Alongside the wrench, you have your modified stun-gun that you procure a few upgrades for. The goal being that all equipment you get along the way have several uses in all their forms, without ever adding complexity to how you play. That way, once you first master your controls, the learning is only in what your boss or enemy does against you, not how you yourself should press your buttons, which is a design I have always tried to strive for.
In the end, I feel the game has managed to create a parade of opponents that all have their own quirks and twists on the abilities you’ve learned without all resorting to being about shooting a ton, and remain fun, fast and satisfying. For the fans of my prior games out there, I hope it will be what you’ve waited for!
It’s been a long road, but Iconoclasts is finally almost here. The game isn’t solely about boss battles. There are lots of people to hang out with, some pleasant platforming and other challenges. I just have a big heart for bosses, and wanted to highlight them for you today. I hope you will enjoy Iconoclasts!

Hello readers, and goodbye 2017! It’s been a heck of a year, but I’m ready to kick back for a couple weeks and play just… a ton of video games until 2018. Maybe I’ll finally finish Persona 5!
A lot of really talented folks stopped by to write posts at the ol’ PlayStation.Blog this year, and we’ve invited a bunch of them back to share digital versions of their teams’ holiday cards with all of you. There’s some quality stuff in here!
I didn’t count (get off my back!), but I think this might be the biggest holiday card post we’ve ever done? Either way, the PS Blog team and all our friends below wish you and and your families a refreshing, prosperous holiday. See you next year!

Hi! I’m Fabrice, French solo developer of the adventure game Demetrios.
A few months ago, I was contacted by a Spanish developer named Daniel Fernandez Chavez. He noticed I was able to develop Demetrios for the PS4 and Vita on my own and was interested in having his own game, Xenon Valkyrie, ported to consoles. Specifically, he wanted it running on his favorite: PS Vita.
I agreed to the job, and thus, unexpectedly became a publisher!
Xenon Valkyrie+ combines the Roguelite and Platformer genres with RPG elements. Talk to characters, level up by killing monsters in randomly-generated dungeons, and find items and secrets to help you in your quest!
This isn’t a game for casual gamers. Most notably, it has perma-death. If you hit a game over, you lose everything collected during that run (experience levels, items…) with the exception of your Teamerites, a currency obtained from key actions (such as beating bosses) which can be used to unlock weapons in the hub store.
Combining your experiences during each run with a bit of persistence, each playthrough should bring you closer to the ending – or should I say, multiple endings! With three characters to choose from and several paths possible, including secret stages and hard-as-hell bosses, let’s just say that Platinum Trophy will be very tough to get!
The game features 90’s-style pixel art and quality chiptune music from Giorgiost (Jorge Olivares) for a retro feel. We’ve fully translated it into five languages (English, French, Spanish, German and Italian.)
As the game was created using GameMaker Studio, Xenon Valkyrie was easy to port to handheld. The Vita port is running in the full, original resolution (stretched to fit the new screen) at a smooth 60 FPS.
But this isn’t just a port! This build incorporates a large number of improvements over the original PC version, taking into account all the player feedback from the original release. These updates are why we decided to rename this version Xenon Valkyrie+. The PS Vita build incorporates gameplay enhancements including a dedicated button for each weapon (instead of scrolling between each) for a very fluid experience.
Xenon Valkyrie+ for PS Vita will be available December 19, 2017 at PlayStation Store, and it will be compatible with PlayStation TV.
