    Team Xbox continues to bring new ways to make Xbox better, with players at the center, as we refine the experience and deliver brand-new features based on player feedback. This month’s update offers touch controls enabled in Xbox remote play, and improved filtering and sorting in My games & apps. There’s a new thumbstick calibration tool for Xbox Wireless Controllers, and a new access restriction option to make it easier for many players to play on shared consoles in places like hospitals.

    Want to play games when away from your console, but don’t have your Xbox Wireless Controller handy? No problem! Xbox remote play now supports custom touch control layouts on more than a hundred games when using the Xbox app on iOS, Android, and Windows devices. The same custom touch layouts available through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) will now be available when remotely playing games from your personal console. This includes games like Minecraft Dungeons, Psychonauts 2, Sea of Thieves, and many more. Additionally, a basic touch control layout can now be used for most other games.

    We’re excited to release a user-guided, self-calibration tool on the Xbox Accessories app that helps you to recalibrate thumbsticks for Xbox Wireless Controllers. This is part of Xbox’s continued investment in improving the repairability experience of controllers. To address minor thumbstick issues such as inconsistent responses, use the self-calibration tool in the Xbox Accessories app on console or PC to resolve issues without the need for support calls, controller repairs, or returns. 

    Xbox enables owners of Xbox Wireless Controllers to self-repair their devices by selling official replacement parts in the Microsoft Store. If you’re self-repairing your controller, the thumbstick recalibration tool should be used after you have replaced the controller’s base and circuit board, as that will likely disrupt thumbstick calibration values. Not all thumbstick issues can be resolved with this recalibration tool, including drift due to normal wear and tear.

    Improved filtering and sorting – My games & apps

    We’ve added new filters and sorts to My games & apps to help you find exactly what you’re looking for on your Xbox. You can now filter games by accessibility, supported languages, and technical features. For example, if you want to see which games are touch-enabled for remote play, you can filter by Technical features > Touch enabled and find your next game to play.

    Additionally, subscription tabs in your full library have been updated to sort by Recently added, making it easier to see what’s new in subscriptions like Xbox Game Pass and EA Play. You can always adjust the sorting to find games to play in your library. Just head to My games & apps > Full library, and you’ll find all the new filtering and sorting options.

    Xbox Update - Access Restrictions Asset

    A new access restriction option has been created to make it easier to play on shared consoles in places like hospitals. Some children’s hospitals have programs to provide consoles that can be wheeled into a patient’s room and give them time to play and connect with friends. The new option makes it easier for player’s profiles to be deleted when they sign out, and it removes the need to check if patients have signed out of the consoles when the gaming cart gets moved between patients.

    To view and adjust the new options, navigate to Settings > System > Access restrictions to allow use of the Edge web browser, set a Home console, and to delete profiles on sign-out.

Wir verfeinern das Erlebnis und liefern brandneue Funktionen, die auf dem Feedback der Nutzer*innen basieren. In diesem Monat wurde die Touch-Steuerung für Xbox Remote Play aktiviert und die Filterung und Sortierung im Meine Spiele & Apps-Bereich verbessert. Ein neues Tool zur Kalibrierung der Daumensticks für Xbox Wireless Controller und eine neue Option zur Zugangsbeschränkung erleichtern es nun vielen Spieler*innen, an gemeinsam genutzten Konsolen zu spielen, zum Beispiel in Krankenhäusern.

    Touch-Steuerung für Xbox Remote Play

    Du möchtest spielen, wenn Du außer Reichweite Deiner Konsole bist, hast aber Deinen Xbox Wireless Controller nicht zur Hand? Kein Problem! Xbox Remote Play unterstützt jetzt benutzerdefinierte Touch-Control-Layouts für mehr als hundert Spiele, wenn Du die Xbox App auf iOS-, Android- und Windows-Geräten verwendest. Du kannst jetzt Spiele nach Zugänglichkeit, unterstützten Sprachen und technischen Merkmalen filtern. Wenn Du zum Beispiel sehen willst, welche Spiele Touch-fähig sind, kannst Du nach Technische Funktionen > Touch-fähig filtern und Dein nächstes Lieblingsspiel finden.

    Automatische Profilabmeldung

    Es wurde eine neue Option zur Zugangsbeschränkung geschaffen, um das Spielen auf gemeinsam genutzten Konsolen in Einrichtungen wie Krankenhäusern zu erleichtern. Einige Kinderkrankenhäuser stellen Konsolen zur Verfügung, die in die Patient*innenzimmer gestellt werden können, damit die Patient*innen Zeit zum Spielen haben und sich mit Freunden treffen können.     Die kostenlose Erweiterung erweckt Dune zu neuem Leben

    Für die Dune: Part Two-Erweiterung hat Microsoft Flight Simulator mit Legendary Pictures und Warner Bros. Pictures zusammenarbeitet. Sie entführt Dich zum ersten Mal in der Geschichte des Flight Simulators über den Planeten Erde hinaus in die rauen Wüsten der Welt von Dune und auf den Planeten Arrakis.     Well, barely three months after I started at Microsoft, they closed all of the Specialty Kiosks. I lost my job. I was seriously so devastated. The remaining Microsoft “full-line” store in my city only had a single spot on their team available at the time, and everyone I knew that got let go applied for it. For some reason, I just knew that my story with Microsoft wasn’t finished yet, so I applied for it too. I really hoped that they’d see my passion/potential and give me a shot despite only being with the company for a few months. Thankfully they did, and I got the role!

    Then, less than a year later in March 2020, all the physical Microsoft Stores permanently closed due to COVID. All retail folks were moved to digital sales, which I did for about a year and a half while I was finishing school. About a month before I graduated, they opened a nationwide offer for 10 people to join Team Xbox. There were hundreds and hundreds of people that applied, and I was able to be one of those lucky 10!

    I’m Badru, Tenderfoot Tactics‘ director, and I’m writing this post to introduce you to the game which we just announced as coming to Xbox platforms and is available to preorder today ahead of its full release on February 21st.

    Tenderfoot Tactics takes advantage of both Play Anywhere and Smart Delivery so you’ll be able to carry your squad of goblins across a variety of platforms, such as the Xbox Series S|X where you’ll be exploring the archipelago at 60fps with a native 1440p and 4k resolution (respectively).

    I’ve been playing it again on my Series S and it’s such a joy to be reminded what a curious, distinctive, and gripping game it is. So, what is it?

    A Rowdy, Chaotic Tactics Game with No Random Chance

    Before everything else, Tenderfoot Tactics is a game about strategic thinking in small scale grid-and-turn-based combats. The battles are fast, tricky, and wild. One mistake can spiral out into a huge number of consequences, but clever play can recover a seemingly impossible battle and turn it into a win. In line with its goblin-brained ethos, it encourages risky, aggressive tactics.

    Unlike most games of this type, in Tenderfoot Tactics, skills always do exactly what they say: there are no damage ranges or hit chances. You’ll never have to restart a combat because of a random number generator. Nevertheless, the battles are anything but predictable.

    Chaos rom Complexity: Natural Systems

    Water flows downhill, pools in valleys, and soaks into soil.

    Plants propagate and draw moisture out of the soil.

    Fire spreads through dry plants (and goblins).

    Like in the real world, Tenderfoot Tactics’ natural systems are deterministic, but so richly interdependent that the results of an action are impossible to really know, and beautiful to watch unfold.

    At the start of the game, your goblins will be relative outsiders to magic, but as you grow in power you’ll be able to evolve them into advanced breeds: Wizards and Woods Witches, Liches, Elementalists, and other strange creatures. Before long you’ll be calling down meteors, raising mountains, electrifying lakes, opening volcanic chasms, and much, much more.

    Exploring the Archipelago

    Again unlike most games of this type, Tenderfoot Tactics takes place in a tremendously large world, and has a lightweight, exploratory, nonlinear story.

    Very early in the game, you’ll find yourself with an objective that is both distant and vague, and you’ll have to set your own route towards it. Don’t worry if you feel lost. Take some time to sail around, looking for landmarks or interesting features. Gather birds and use them to soar higher and further afield.

    As you roam, your goblins will express their impulsive desires: to follow their nose to a nearby herb, or maybe to visit that town on the horizon. Take whatever cues seem interesting to you. There’s no wrong way to spend your time in the archipelago.

    Tips for New Players

    The tutorials are all available in your pause menu at any time. Don’t be nervous about skipping them if they’re too much to read at first, but do go read them eventually! The game is much more enjoyable with a full understanding of its systems, which are fairly simple.

    You can change your goblins’ skills at any time out of combat, and for the starting breed, the base ‘goblin’, doing so is completely free.

    The game features dynamic difficulty adjustment, and very few consequences for fleeing a battle, so if a fight is too hard for you, just run!

    Okay thanks! Have fun with Tenderfoot Tactics! I think it looks, sounds, and plays beautifully on my Xbox Series S. It’s a strange game, and one I’m very proud of. I hope it gets its nasty little hooks in your brain like it does mine.

    Updates zu Ranglistenmatches

    Nicht zuletzt dank eures Feedbacks haben wir die Ranglistenmatches auf Stand gebracht. Die neue Ranglistenübersicht ist transparenter denn je und bietet klare Einblicke, warum sich euer Rang ändert. Auch durch die Modifikatoren der Fertigkeiten könnt ihr euren Fortschritt besser nachvollziehen. Mit Beginn von Saison 9 setzen wir den Rang für alle zurück, damit alle Spieler die Chance haben, höher aufsteigen zu können, ohne dass die Matchqualität darunter leidet. Zudem sind die Platzierungsspiele wieder zurück, das heißt, eure Leistung in den ersten Spielen hat wesentlichen Einfluss auf euren Startrang.

    Gebt dem Flüstern des Wahnsinns im Battle Pass der Saison 9 von Overwatch 2 nach: Über 80 Belohnungsstufen (darunter unter anderem Überlebender: 76 für Soldier: 76, Tentakel des Grauens für Torbjörn und Schreckensschwein für Roadhog) winken euch bei einem Upgrade auf den Premium Battle Pass. Wenn ihr gegen das Grauen aller 80 Stufen des Battle Pass besteht, schaltet ihr den Mythischen Skin „Uralte Ruferin“ für Moira frei.     Neue Skins, die ihr lieben werdet!

    Im Shop gibt es die ganze Saison über kosmische kosmetische Extras, die nicht von dieser Welt sind. Hinzu kommen Valentintstag-Skins, in die ihr euch garantiert verlieben werdet. Sammelt die an Rosahardt – Reinhardt, Rosafarbene Lilie – Widowmaker und Kirschblüte – Kiriko angelehnten Skins. Vielleicht findet ihr aber auch eure wahre Liebe, denn Fan-Liebling Amor Hanzo ist zurück. Ganz neu zudem: der Reaper-Skin zum Valentinstag.

    Darüber hinaus gibt es im Shop bald weitere kosmische Überraschungen, etwa die Legendären Skins mit so schaurig-coolen Remixes wie Unhold – Orisa und Dunkles Reh – Lucio. Außerdem gibt es Waffenskins, die vom Graffiti der Los-Muertos-Gang aus Dorado inspiriert wurden. Gespannt sein dürft ihr auch auf eine neue Zusammenarbeit, die im Verlauf der Saison auf euch wartet.

    Geschlossen zur Heldenprüfung: Gauntlet

    Die Heldenprüfung wird künftig zum völlig neuen Mehrspieler-Erlebnis. Kämpft als Team gegen wechselnde Wellen von Gegnern, verteidigt eure Türme und verbessert eure Verteidigung. Wer überlebt „Heldenprüfung: Gauntlet“?

    Schließt euch mit Freunden zusammen, um taktische Herausforderungen zu meistern, die euch sowohl individuell als auch kollektiv alles abverlangen. Jede Session wird dabei für euch eine ganz neue Erfahrung, denn die gegnerischen Wellen, Ziele und Upgrade-Optionen variieren ständig. Kein Spiel wird wie das andere sein und ihr könnt euch mit jedem Helden beweisen.

    Völlig neue Balance für das Gameplay

    Season 9: Champions wartet zudem mit umfassenden Balanceänderungen auf, die jeden Helden im Spiel betreffen. Wir sorgen dafür, dass der verursachte Schaden vereinheitlicht wird. Zu diesem Zweck vergrößern wir nicht nur die Projektile, sondern auch die Trefferpunkte aller Helden. Gleichzeitig bleibt die Zeit für die Eliminierung von Zielen im Verhältnis dazu gleich. Außerdem führen wir für alle Helden eine neue passive Fähigkeit ein, mit der sie ihre Trefferpunkte regenerieren können, wenn sie sich aus dem Kampf zurückziehen.

    Flugstunde

    In Saison 9 gibt es außerdem erhebliche Änderungen bei Pharah. Diese haben vor allem zwei Ziele:

    • Pharah soll individueller spielbar und nicht mehr so abhängig von anderen Helden wie Mercy sein.  
    • Der Schwerpunkt von Pharahs Bewegungsfähigkeiten wurde so geändert, dass sie nun weniger steil in den Himmel schießt und eher schnell horizontal Distanzen abdecken kann. 
    • Darüber hinaus werden kurze Auszeiten für Pharahs Flug eingeführt.

    Diese Ziele sollen Pharah (auch als Solo-Heldin) wirkungsvoller gegen höherrangige Schwellenwerte machen und gleichzeitig Probleme, auf Pharah für andere Spieler verursacht hat – etwa, dass ihre Anwesenheit die tatsächliche Heldenauswahl des gegnerischen Teams einschränkt.

    Die passive Fähigkeit von Pharahs Schwebedüsen wurde so überarbeitet, dass sie nun nur noch begrenzte Zeit in der Luft verbringen kann. Treibstoff kann zudem nur noch am Boden getankt werden. Als Ausgleich für diese erheblichen Änderung  bekommt Pharah mehr Geschwindigkeit und Beschleunigung, wenn sie sich in der Luft befindet. Dadurch kann sie Entfernungen schneller zurücklegen. Darüber hinaus haben Senkrechtstarter jetzt zusätzlichen Treibstoff von 50% des Tankinhalts, der bei 100% Treibstoff überläuft. Währen es also künftig Auszeiten geben wird, haben Pharah-Spieler zugleich viel mehr Einfluss darauf, wo auf dem Schlachtfeld sie während der Zeit in der Luft sein wollen.

    Pharah bekommt zudem eine neue Fähigkeit namens Düsenstrahl. Wenn Pharah den sekundären Feuermodus einsetzt, schießt sie zugleich in die Richtung los, in die sie sich ohnehin bereits bewegt. In Kombination mit Erschütterungsimpuls und der verbesserten Beweglichkeit durch Schwebedüsen kann sich Pharah so schnell in Positionen bringen, in denen sie höchst tödlich ist.

     Diese aktivere Pharah macht das Spiel unterhaltsamer und bietet neue Möglichkeiten, die Fertigkeiten auszuspielen. Wir freuen uns jetzt schon auf eure Rückmeldungen zu dieser Änderungen an Pharah.

    Auf dem Weg nach Junkertown

    Zu guter Letzt gibt es in dieser Saison ein großes Update für die Karte des wilden und rauen Junkertown. Der erste Abschnitt der Karte (das Gebiet beim ersten Kontrollpunkt) ist ziemlich offen. Es kann für das offensive Team schwierig sein, hier durchzubrechen, wenn das verteidigende Team eine Witwe oder eine Pharah hat. Deshalb haben wir die kleine Deckung durch ein solideres, ausgebranntes Gebäude ersetzt. Außerdem haben wir das Nebengebäude in der Nähe des Tors durch einen hohen Wasserturm ersetzt, um die Sichtlinie von den Öffnungen oberhalb des Engpasses zu blockieren. Außerdem wurden in diesem Bereich ein paar weitere Autos hinzugefügt und der Pfad an den Klippen ist jetzt schmaler.

    Das kleine Medikit auf dem Balkon mit Blick auf die Haarnadelkurve im zweiten Bereich wurde entfernt, um den Vorteil des Verteidigers durch diese Engstelle zu verringern. In der dritten Zone haben wir einen vertikalen Stützbalken auf der linken Seite des Gangs hinzugefügt, um die Sichtlinie von der oberen Kante zu blockieren und Angreifern mehr Deckung beim Betreten des Bereichs zu geben. Außerdem haben wir einen Gang im äußeren Zentralbereich von Zone 3 verbreitert und mit Deckung versehen, um dort stattfindende Teamkämpfe zu erleichtern. Schließlich bietet die aktualisierte Karte einen neuen Nachtbeleuchtungsmodus zum Ausprobieren.

    Bringing a Whole New Balance to Gameplay

    Season 9: Champions also introduces global balance changes that affect every hero in the game. We’re adjusting how the damage dealt is more consistent by increasing the projectile size while also increasing the health pools of all heroes, thereby keeping the time it takes to eliminate targets relatively the same. We also added a new passive for all heroes to regenerate their health when they step out of combat.

    Justice Rains From Above

    Season 9 also presents significant updates to Pharah, made with some strong goals in mind:

    • Empower Pharah to make more individual plays and lessen her reliance on heroes like Mercy.  
    • Shift Pharah’s movement capabilities from feathering up in the sky toward more horizontal movement that can cover distance quickly. 
    • Introduce brief moments of downtime for Pharah’s flight.

    These goals are aimed at enabling Pharah to be more effective at higher ranked thresholds and as a solo hero, while also addressing rougher experiences players have going against Pharah – such as her presence limiting the effective hero pool of the opposing team.

    Pharah’s Hover Jets passive has been reworked to limit her time in the air, with fuel being recharged only while she is touching the ground. To compensate for this large change,  Pharah has more speed and acceleration while in the air, allowing her to traverse between areas quicker. Jump Jets also now provide bonus fuel (50% of the total tank) and that overflows if you hit 100% fuel. So, while there are moments of downtime introduced, Pharah players will have much more control of where they want to be on the battlefield during that time in air.

    Pharah also has a new ability called Jet Dash. When Pharah uses Secondary Fire she will dash in the direction she’s moving. When combined with Concussive Blast and the enhanced mobility from Hover Jets, Pharah can quickly navigate herself into positions where she’s highly lethal.

     This more active Pharah means a healthier game and offers new levels of skill expression. We’re looking forward to your feedback on these Pharah changes.

    Rolling into Junkertown

    And finally, a big update for the wild and rowdy Junkertown map is coming this season. The first section of the map (the area by the first checkpoint) is quite open. It can be tough for the offensive team to push the cart through here if the defending team has a Widow or Pharah. So, we’ve replaced the small cover with a trusty, burned-out building. We’ve also replaced the outhouse that was close to the gate with a tall water tower to block the line of sight from the openings above the choke point. Additionally, a few more cars have been added to this area, and the cliffside path has been reduced.

    The small health pack on the balcony overlooking the hairpin turn on the second area has been removed to lessen the defender advantage from that choke. In the third area, we added a vertical support beam on the left side of the hallway to block the sightline from the upper ledge to give more cover for attackers to enter the area. We also widened and added cover to a hallway on the outer mid-section of area 3 to open up team fights that happen there. Finally, the updated map features a new night-time lighting theme to try out.

    Promenade Showcases its Gameplay in a Brand New Demo

    • Play as Nemo as he goes on a beautiful coming-of-age adventure.

    Promenade is coming to Xbox Series S|X and Xbox One on February 23. And we at Red Art Games are so excited that we wanted to give everybody the opportunity to try out the game before it comes out. That’s why we put together a playable demo that give players a taste of what we believe makes Promenade so good.  That demo is available right now! But before we get into the demo’s content, let us tell you a bit more about Promenade.

    In Promenade, you play as Nemo, a kid who finds himself dropped into a world that is as mysterious as it is colorful. Luckily for him, he won’t have to make his way through this magical place alone. When things look like they couldn’t get any worse for him, a cute, and very skilled, octopus swoops in to save the day.  Joined by his new cephalopod sidekick, Nemo is tasked with the mission to repair the Great Elevator whose cogs have been scattered all around the world by a scary character. Why did that mean looking guy break everything you ask? You will have to play Promenade to find out!

    What we can tell you is that to put the all important elevator back in working condition, the brave duo will have to go on a life-changing trip across a mysterious world full of challenges, puzzle, races and funny looking creatures. In order to collect the 180 cogs needed to fully repair the elevator, Nemo and the octopus will have to face many challenges. But it will be worth it in the end.

    Promenade is a charming 2D Collectathon full of gameplay ideas and memorable scenes. Its story, told through environmental storytelling, is one of growth. Throughout his journey, Nemo will learn to overcome his fears and self doubt. Promenade’s creators were inspired by numerous and varied pieces of work such as  “Alice in Wonderland” ,  “Little Nemo”  – after which the protagonist too his name –  “Adventure Time” ,  “Peter Pan” ,   “Gravity Falls”  and   “Over the Garden Wall” . And even though it is a 2D game, Promenade has also been inspired by 3D gaming classics such as Banjo-Kazooie and Spyro the Dragon. The game’s creators worked tirelessly to reinvent as a 2D title a genre that is closely associated with 3D games.

    In the Promenade demo, players get the opportunity to try out four different gameplay sequences, as many times as they like. We carefully selected those sections of the game as we believe that they show what Promenade has to offer without spoiling the latter levels. The first sequence, called ”Cavern of Awakening” starts off with the opening cutscene and leads into the tutorial level. When they reach the end of the level, players have a good grasp of the game’s controls.

    The second sequence, “Sandy Stroll”, is Promenade’s first full level. On this sunny level, players will get to pick ups some of the game’s very first cogs. Some are easy to spot, others are well hidden… Sandy Stroll gives players an idea of the various types of situations they will find themselves in during Nemo’s journey.

    The third sequence, titled “Slinghops”, is a trial-type level. The trials are skills-based levels and tend to be the most difficult levels of Promenade. Once they’ve managed to get to the end of trial levels, players can do it all over again. But this time, with a time limit…

    The fourth and final sequence, “Masked Demon’s Lair”, leads to a boss fight. In order to complete their cogs collection, and gain access to some very special mini-games, Nemo and his companion will have to face a collection of bosses. Each boss fight is different and the heroic duo will have to use their skills and reflexes to defeat them.

    While Promenade’s creators developed it with speedrunners and fans of challenging games in mind, more casual players will also be able their time with Nemo and his octopus friend. It is  possible, and absolutely fine, to focus on less difficult cogs to get to Promenade’s ending. That being said, players who manage to collect all 180 cogs will get to see something truly special…

    Promenade invites players to find out on their own what makes each part of the world and object unique. In Holy Cap’s debut title, trying things can lead to surprising results. But as we said previously, don’t let its pastel graphics and funny looking characters fool you. Promenade has been carefully crafted with experienced players and completionists in mind. Achievement hunters who want to get the 1,000 GS on Promenade will have their hands full for a while. We can promise you that!

    Ported to Xbox consoles by Red Art Studios, Promenade is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on February 23. Its playable demo is available now.

    Fixes Included

    Thanks to all the great feedback Xbox Insiders provide and the hard work of Xbox engineers, we are happy to announce the following fixes have been implemented with this build:

    Apps

    • Fixes to address an issue where Microsoft Edge would close unexpectedly.

    Games

    • Fixes to address unexpected graphical issues with some titles.
    • Fixed an issue where changing the language in a game would not always download the new language as expected.

    System

    • Fixes to address unexpected errors navigating to home or opening the guide, or the console remaining on the boot-up animation longer than expected.
      • Note: If you’re still having trouble, restart your console from the Power Center or the guide. If the issue persists, reset your console with the ‘keep my games & apps’ option. Learn more about these options here:
    • Various stability and performance fixes.

    Known Issues

    While known issues may have been listed in previous Xbox Insider Release Notes, they are not being ignored! However, it may take Xbox engineers more time to find a solution. If you experience any of these issues, we ask that you please follow any guidance provided and file feedback with Report a Problem.

    Audio

    • We have received reports of users experiencing intermittent issues with audio across the dashboard, games, and apps. If you have experienced issues, be sure you have the latest firmware updates for your TV and other equipment. If you’re unsure, you may need to contact the manufacturer for assistance.
      • Note: If you continue to experience issues after applying the latest firmware updates, please submit feedback via Report a Problem immediately with the “Reproduce with advanced diagnostics” option, then select the category “Console experiences” and “Console Audio Output Issues”. Be sure to include as much information as possible:
        • When did the issue start?
        • Did you lose audio just in the game/app or system audio as well?
        • Does changing the audio format resolve the issue? If yes, what was the format before and after?
        • Does rebooting resolve the issue?
        • What does your setup include? Equipment, layout, etc.
        • And any additional information you can provide to reproduce the problem.

    Game Card

    • Some users have reported an unexpected black screen when opening the game card or selecting “Show in Microsoft Store” after it has opened, and we are investigating.

    Networking

    • We are investigating reports of an issue where the console may not connect to their network as expected on boot. If you experience this, be sure to report the issue via Report a Problem as soon as you’re able.

    As always, be sure to use Report a problem to keep us informed of any issues you encounter. We may not be able to respond to everyone, but the data we’ll gather is crucial to finding a resolution.

    New Inclusive, Accessible, Easy-Going Games Revealed for Xbox During the Whitethorn Winter Showcase

    Hi, Xbox Wire readers! Today, we held our annual Whitethorn Winter Showcase, where we shared some fantastic new trailers and new details about our upcoming games coming to Xbox this year! Also, the team from the ID@Xbox Developer Acceleration Program joined us to share some information about how the program helps empower underrepresented creators to bring their games to Xbox, and revealed a new title to join our line-up of inclusive, accessible, easy-going games.

    Slime Heroes

    ID@Xbox Helps Whitethorn Games Reveal Pancake Games Partnership

    ID@Xbox Developer Acceleration Program Lead, James Lewis, sat down with CEO and Founder of Pancake Games, Tomas Gomez, to talk about how the program has worked with the studio to bring their upcoming 3D action-adventure game Slime Heroes to Xbox and announce Whitethorn Games partnership to help bring the title to launch. But wait — there’s more! Whitethorn revealed a new trailer, showing off a terrifying (and yet somehow adorable) new boss and new area players will get to explore at launch!

    Slime Heroes takes you on a journey through a whimsical world entrusted to an unlikely hero — a slime — who must save it from a mysterious corruption. You’ll journey through the expansive 3D world — alone or with a friend — encountering ferocious enemies, challenging but approachable puzzles, and uncovering forgotten treasures. Help your slime become the hero they were meant to be by consuming magical gems and dynamically combining them to create unique and powerful magical skills to help you take down even the most corrupted minions and bosses. Discover a touching story of overcoming expectations, friendship, and forgiveness as you progress because even slimes can be heroes!

    Botany Manor

    Botany Manor Gets a Release Date

    The wait is almost over for Balloon Studios’ stunning first-person plant-puzzle game. Botany Manor is coming to Xbox — available day one with Xbox Game Pass — April 9, 2024! During the showcase, the studio released a new trailer revealing some new forgotten flora for players to bring to bloom.

    In Botany Manor, you’ll travel back in time to the 19th century and take on the role of retired botanist Arabella Greene, researching long-forgotten plants that require some very unusual conditions to make them blossom. You’ll get to explore a majestic English manor house and its beautifully cultivated gardens to uncover Arabella’s decades of research and solve puzzles to figure out the exact conditions each plant requires. As you explore the tranquil homestead, you’ll also learn more about Arabella’s life and struggles as a woman in the botanical sciences during that era.  

    Mythwrecked

    Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is Coming to Xbox at Launch

    Your Island getaway is close at hand — Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is coming to Xbox this summer! In a new video, Polygon Treehouse’s Alex Kanaris-Sotiriou shared an in-depth look at more of the gameplay, including a comprehensive look at the central friendship mechanic, treasure hunting, and much more!

    Summer can’t come soon enough because we’re so eager for you to walk the beautiful sandy beaches of Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island. Playing as backpacker Alex, who finds herself shipwrecked on a stunning Mediterranean Island, you explore a gorgeous vacation-worthy setting and meet the many residents of the Island — who just so happen to be the gods of Greek myths and legends! Something is amiss, however, as you discover the gods have forgotten who they are. It’s up to you to befriend them, search for clues and treasures to gain their trust, and help them recover their memories so they can help you in your search to find your way back home!

    Magical Delicacy

    New Magical Delicacy Gameplay Revealed

    We’re gearing up to cook up a storm this year with the cozy Metroidvania-lite cooking game Magical Delicacy — coming to Xbox, available day one with Xbox Game Pass this year! To get you ready to venture off on your own culinary adventure, solo developer sKaule dropped by the showcase with a special message and a new gameplay trailer showing off more of the town, its community of adventurers, ingredients, and of course, delicious recipes!

    Journey as the young witch Flora to the charming harbor town of Grat, and whip up and deliver some tasty treats for the town’s eclectic residents. As you traverse the 2D platformer inspired by Metroidvanias, you’ll visit shops, meet the interesting townsfolk, and take on quests to collect recipes and gather exotic ingredients. A good chef is resourceful, so you’ll be able to take your customizable recipes to the next level by foraging throughout the town and growing yummy veggies in your garden. With secrets, mysteries, and drama to unravel in the bewitching linear story, Flora’s adventures in Grat are sure to whet your appetite and leave you saying, “Bon Appetit!”

    Accessibility in Games Matters

    Making sure that gaming is an inclusive experience is an important part of the games we publish, so as part of our showcase, our Chief Accessibility Officer, Britt Dye, outlined some of the accessibility features that will be available in our upcoming games. From high contrast and color-blind visual accommodations to dyslexia-friendly fonts, multiple control configurations for two- or one-handed play, adjustable camera settings, non-narrative descriptive text and more, we are dedicated to making sure that as many players as possible can enjoy their gaming experience. In addition to the showcase, you can also find more detailed information about the accessibility features for each of our games on our website.
