PS Now Adds 10 New PS4 Games, 7-Day Trials Reset

    Reading Time: 3 minutes

It’s been about a week since we launched the PS4 game download feature, and we’re adding 10 new PS4 games to the library this month, including Elder Scrolls Online and Sniper Elite 4, bringing the total to over 220 games.

The game download feature gives subscribers the option to download almost all of the 220+ PS4 games in the service to play locally with full audio and visual fidelity and DLC and add-on support (DLC and other add-ons sold separately), including Bloodborne, WWE 2K16, Until Dawn, Project Cars, NBA 2K16, and God of War 3 Remastered. All of the PS2 games in the service are downloadable as well. See here for more information on downloads and transferring save data between the PS Now save cloud and your PS4.

As of this week we have also reset the 7-day trial, so anyone not subscribed to the service as of October 2 can try out downloads for most PS4 games in the service, as well as streaming for all 650+ games in the PS Now library. Even if you previously had a paid subscription or used a 7-day trial for PS Now, you can now access the 7-day trial again to see how easy the new download feature works. The 7-day free trial (credit card required) auto-renews at $19.99 per month at the end of the trial period, unless you cancel or subscribe to a different subscription plan. So now’s the perfect time to come back and give PS Now a try!

Leading this month’s batch of new PS Now games is Elder Scrolls Online, the award-winning MMORPG with an ever-expanding story in a persistent online Elder Scrolls world. This is the base version of the game, and when downloaded, is compatible with all available expansions and add-on DLC (sold separately).

Also available new this month is Sniper Elite 4, with an expansive campaign for 1-2 players, co-op for 2-4 players, and competitive multiplayer for up to 12. And with your PS Now subscription, you can stream or download games in the PS Now library (not all games available for download) and play online without a PS Plus subscription. Its predecessor, Sniper Elite 3, is also available for streaming and download as part of the PS Now library.

Other new games this month include the beautiful Bound, acclaimed science-fantasy RPG Torment: Tides of Numenera, and unique titles like Styx: Shards of Darkness and 100ft Robot Golf.

A complete list of all the new games available to stream on PS4 and PC, and download to PS4, includes:

The Last of Us: Outbreak Day 2018

    Reading Time: 3 minutes

We launched The Last of Us five years ago and, later that year, began what would become one of our favorite traditions: celebrating Outbreak Day. Every year on September 26, we’ve had the opportunity to celebrate The Last of Us community and share our appreciation for the love and passion you have for this world, these characters, and their stories. This year, to commemorate the Fifth Anniversary of Outbreak Day, we’re excited to share a new collection of The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II merch, content, and special promotions. This is our biggest Outbreak Day lineup yet–and it’s all available right now at thelastofus.com/outbreakday.

Outbreak Day: The Last of Us

We’re excited to continue our collaboration with Mondo with a new The Last of Us-inspired poster for 2018 designed by Sam Wolfe Connelly. Once again, this year’s Outbreak Day poster will only be available as a timed-edition release. You’ll only have until this 9:00am PT this Saturday, September 29 to get one. After that, it’s gone! We’re also teaming up with Mondo to re-release the original The Last of Us soundtrack on vinyl in two volumes, the first of which is available today. Ever since the soundtrack was originally released as a box set in 2015, we’ve heard your requests for a re-release and we’re thrilled to be able to make it a reality!

To help add a little more The Last of Us to your digital life, we’ve also released a new set of The Last of Us Part II wallpapers and launched The Last of Us Stickers for Apple devices. Pop over to the App Store and show off your infectious personality with help from Ellie, Joel, the infected, and other The Last of Us iconography illustrated by Lily Nishita.

Outbreak Day: The Last of Us

We’ve released a new theme song from The Last of Us Part II called “The Last of Us (Cycles)” by the one and only Gustavo Santaolalla. You may have seen Gustavo perform it live at the E3 2018 PlayStation Showcase, but now, the studio version is here and ready for you to listen to on repeat. To go along with it, we’ve also released a new The Last of Us Part II dynamic system theme for PS4 and collection of PS4 avatars that are available for free from now until 9:00am PT, September 27, at PlayStation Store. PS Store is also offering Outbreak Day discounts on The Last of Us Remastered and other The Last of Us DLC through October 2.

Outbreak Day: The Last of Us Part II Shirt

For those that want to wear their fandom on their sleeve, our friends at Insert Coin Clothing have created a new shirt for Outbreak Day featuring Ellie’s tattoo from The Last of Us Part II.

But this is just a quick overview of what we’ve cooked up for this year’s Outbreak Day. Head over to The Last of Us website for all things Outbreak Day and, as always, be sure to follow Naughty Dog on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for updates.

    Happy Outbreak Day!

If you’ve already started a game via streaming on PS Now and want to continue playing locally on your PS4, you can transfer your save file from the PS Now cloud to your console with a PS Plus membership (sold separately). This is done by transferring the save file from the PS Now cloud to your PS Plus cloud storage, then transferring it from the PS Plus cloud storage to your PS4 system. Check out this page for step-by-step instruction videos on how to transfer your game saves.

Note that you will need to connect your PS4 system to the internet every few days to verify your PS Now subscription, even if you’re only playing downloaded games.

Battleborn, Darksiders and More Join the PS Now Lineup

    Reading Time: 3 minutes

Spring is in the air, and this month we’ve got an exciting batch of new PS4 games hitting PlayStation Now, ready to stream to your PS4 and PC. Joining the library of more than 600 streaming games – including more than 150 PS4 games – are Battleborn, Darksiders Warmastered Edition, ADR1FT, Lords of the Fallen, and more.

    New This Month:

Jump into the action with the full version of the first-person MOBA Battleborn, from the creators of the hit Borderlands series. Full version includes all 25 launch heroes accessible, and a single-player PvE mode. What’s more, PS Now supports local split-screen, as well as complete online play even without a PS Plus subscription.

This month we are upgrading the PS3 version of Darksiders to the enhanced PS4 “Warmastered Edition.” Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. Dishonored, stripped of his powers, and facing his own death, War must take on the forces of Hell, forge uneasy alliances with the very demons he hunts, and journey across the ravaged remains of the Earth on his quest for vengeance and vindication. The sequel, Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition (PS4), is also available to play on PS Now.

Experience the breathtaking and critically acclaimed indie game ADR1FT. With no memory of how your space station got destroyed, you must struggle to discover the cause of the catastrophic event that killed everyone on board but you. With a damaged and leaking EVA suit, fight to stay alive as you explore the wreckage for resources, clues, and parts to repair your EEV to escape back to Earth.

Enter a dark fantasy world where the demonic Rhogar legions are re-emerging from their dark realm in the action RPG Lords of the Fallen. As Harkyn, a convicted criminal rejected by society, must face the daunting Fallen Lords using a complex and fast-paced melee combat system where weapons, armor and skills directly affect speed and attacks. Lay waste to enemies using forbidden magic when weapons are not enough.

Test your driving skills on 15 painstakingly recreated race tracks (and 24 configurations) in the beautiful racing sim Assetto Corsa. With over 90 dream cars from Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Maserati, Mclaren, Pagani, and more, all rendered with obsessive detail and using manufacturer’s actual telemetry, Assetto Corsa also features an advanced physics engine that delivers a true-to-life racing experience.

If you’re a fan of colorful anime J-RPGs, Megadimension Neptunia VII is sure to please. Featuring an upgraded battle system with new linked attacks, as well as a second transformation, NEXT mode, with new special skills and costumes, you’ll fight your way through three dimensions and three stories with new CPUs and NPCs by your side.

Additionally, the new PS Now interface teased in last month’s blog post has now been rolled out to all users. Improvements have been made to the app’s navigation and load speed, interface design, navigation, and search features. We hope you enjoy the new look and feel!

First up this month is NBA 2K16 for PS4, featuring cover athletes Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, and James Harden. With an in-depth MyCAREER experience written, directed and produced by acclaimed filmmaker Spike Lee, NBA 2K16 lets you guide your MyPLAYER through the complete NBA journey, take control of an entire NBA franchise, and hone your skills through the many gameplay modes. Now’s your chance to dive head first into the underground world of the Japanese yakuza with both Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 playable in PS Now. Explore Tokyo with four playable characters in Yakuza 4, including the legendary dragon himself, Kazuma Kiryu, as he works to unravel a conspiracy that threatens the nightlife district of Kamurocho. Experience aspects of Japanese culture including karaoke, hostess clubs, and even pachinko.

In Yakuza 5, Kazuma Kiryu is pulled back into the yakuza conflict as a bloody war between the Tojo Clan and Omi Alliance is about to break out. TheYakuza 5 saga plays out across five major Japanese cities with five playable characters, including Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and Sapporo, taking you from taxi driving missions to hunting in the frozen wilds, to living in the harsh world of a pop idol. Brush up on your fighting skills, and prepare for Yakuza 6: The Song of Life launching on PlayStation 4.

Experience intense white-knuckle racing with DiRT Rally (PS4), flying at the edge of control across dirt, tarmac, snow, and ice and in all types of weather. DiRT Rally includes officially licensed World Rallycross content, allowing you to experience the breathless, high-speed thrills of some of the world’s fastest off-road cars as you trade paint with other drivers at some of the series’ best-loved circuits, in both singleplayer and high-intensity multiplayer races (PlayStation Plus not required for multiplayer via PlayStation Now).

Anime, strategy, and J-RPG fans will love Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance (PS4). Killia, a loner, is drawn into forming a rebel army with a group of Overlords to oppose Demon Emperor Void Dark, and prevent him from taking over all of the Netherworlds. Travel across different Netherworlds to build your army in this tactical role-playing game. Don’t forget to check out other Disgaea games already in PS Now as well.

This month we are also upgrading Payday 2 to the PS4 “Crimewave Edition.” This action-packed 4-player co-op shooter has been extremely popular since it hit PS Now last year, and now it will look and play even better (if you were playing the original PS3 version, it will still appear in your Play History list so you can continue with your progress). Up to four friends co-operate on the hits and as the crew progresses the jobs become bigger, better and more rewarding. Along with earning more money and becoming a legendary criminal, use your funds to customize your character with new skill-sets that change the way you play and kit them out with their own guns and gear.
