    Baby Steps – Gameplay-Bericht

    Reading Time: 5 minutes

Wizard With a Gun: 5 Powerful Picks from the New Bounty of Guns Update

    Reading Time: 2 minutes

Hello Xbox fans! Our co-op sandbox survival game Wizard With a Gun unloads an expanded arsenal of new content today in Bounty of Guns, our newest free update! There’s a crate-load of fresh, awesome stuff in Bounty of Guns, including new enemies, events and fashionable furniture for your refuge in the Tower, but, as the name suggests, there’s one new feature in particular that wizards who love weapons will really get a kick out of.

Lucrative new Bounties offer you the chance to gain special rewards from an assortment of more than 50 firearms, and we’ve picked out five of our favourites to help kickstart your collection.

    Fidrow Cultbuster

Favoured for its steady output, larger magazine size, and stronger bullets, the Fidrow Cultbuster is a great way to keep your enemies hiding behind cover. The Cultbuster has been banned on the plains after the Cult of Iron Massacre six years ago, but the contraband wand has found its way on the Shatter in the hands of those same cultists.

    Odden’s Pointer

Odden Hammerite is a mechanist craftswoman from the eastern plains whose guns are recognizable from their brutalist designs. She’s a supplier of the Gladwell family, who value the added power the guns generate by charging up shots. Together, her line of guns is known as Odden’s Fist.

    Vitriol

The Cult of Lead has developed numerous weapons to better spread poison and corruption. Vitriol is one of their most successful experimental weapons yet. Each shot adds an additional poison dose to its bullet, making it the ideal companion to lethal finisher spells!

    Malediction

Draco Scarpath is renowned for his extraordinarily powerful gunmancy. The downside to his obsidian-infused wands is that every shot drains the life from their wielder’s body. The more powerful the gun, the higher a toll it takes. Most wizards stay far away from his cursed weapons… except those who prize power above all else.

    Blightspreader

Since discovering the Infinite Well in the Tower, Orion has spent years trying to cleanse its poison. His idea for the Blightspreader came originally as a way to deliver antidotes faster than the Well’s rate of decay, but now his gun too has been corrupted. Orion has infused the minigun with the Well’s poison and wields it as a weapon against those who would attack Hilda and her Riders.

We hope you enjoy racking up Bounties, getting to grips with your new toys, and putting your Gun Racks to good use. Good luck, gunslingers! You’re gonna need it…

Wizard With a Gun is out now for Xbox Series X|S. The Bounty of Guns update arrives for free today.

  • Take Cult Customization to the Next Level in Cult of the Lamb’s Free Sins of the Flesh Update

Take Cult Customization to the Next Level in Cult of the Lamb’s Free Sins of the Flesh Update

    Reading Time: 4 minutes

Cult of the Lamb’s next free update is preparing to slither into our dimension on January 16. Sins of the Flesh is our biggest expansion yet, adding a bounty of wicked new content—including a new Sin resource that lets you perform the darkest Rituals yet. Whether you’re knocking back a cool glass of Poop Juice or sneaking into the Mating Tent, there are lots more ways to be bad in this unholy update.

There’s a cult-load of fresh, awesome stuff in Sins of the Flesh, but there’s one new feature in particular that leaders who love customizing their flock will get an extra kick out of. Joining Cult of the Lamb’s cast of eccentric characters is Berith, a silkworm clothes maker. After meeting them, a new upgrade in the Divine Inspiration tree will be revealed and will allow you to build a Tailor in your cult’s base.

You can then use gathered materials to craft new outfits for your followers, decking them out in the hottest occult fashion. Some outfits can be customized too, letting you switch between different colors and variants. Unlock new threads by embarking on Crusades or performing certain actions—such as sinking a heroic number of drinks at the Drinkhouse, a brand new base structure. Here a follower can become a bartender, mixing up drinks and serving them to the cult to generate Sin.

The Drinkhouse and other sinful new structures will earn you Sin, which can then be used to unlock Doctrines and perform some of the gnarliest Rituals Cult of the Lamb has ever seen. You can also make the most of love connections between followers and birth new ones in the Mating Tent—or just crack the egg and harvest the yolks, you monster. But wait, that’s not all Sins of the Flesh has to offer.

Thanks to a selection of savvy quality of life improvements, Sins of the Flesh also makes the day-to-day business of running your cult less of a chore. Now, as you clean up after your messy followers by sweeping up poop, vomit, and burnt food, your mop will gradually level up and become more powerful. The stronger it gets, the faster it sweeps. That’s right, baby: unlockable mops! Ten of ’em!

We’ll also accept thanks in advance for the new follower auto-level feature. When you declare a Doctrine or perform a Sermon or Ritual that upgrades your followers’ level of loyalty, anyone with a full loyalty bar will automatically upgrade to the next level. We’ve also sped up Sermons, added huge new high-level storage structures, and a heap of other new improvements designed to streamline your experience.

You can indulge in the Sins of the Flesh yourself when Cult of the Lamb’s newest, darkest update releases on January 16. Cult of the Lamb is available now for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

  • Wizarding Together is Better in Wizard with a Gun – Now Available for Xbox Series X|S

Wizarding Together is Better in Wizard with a Gun – Now Available for Xbox Series X|S

    Reading Time: 6 minutes

Wizard with a Gun, our sandbox survival adventure game just released on Xbox Series X|S and we’re hoping all you budding gunmancers are excited to jump in! Before you set off on expeditions to vanquish enemies, gather loot, and explore The Shatter, we thought we’d drop a little more detail on the cooperative adventuring for two players online. With the timer counting down, you and your wizard bud will need to make some big decisions because dying means dropping almost everything you have collected. But with twice the power and magic, there are several co-op mechanics to optimize your teamwork.

    Combine Powers

    Combine Powers

Magical bullets are integral to surviving The Shatter. Each one has a unique effect and many can be upgraded for more potency. Having different kinds of bullets between you and your partner will allow for devastating combos. For example, one wizard can sling the freeze spells while the other shatters the chunk of ice with destruction spells, dealing huge damage together. There are many combinations like oil + fire, electricity + water, and several more we’ll leave for you to discover and experiment with. Even some wild combinations with enchanting and healing.

    Wizard with a Gun

    Protect and Heal

Speaking of healing, if you run out of HP, you’ll be knocked down instead of immediately succumbing to death. While knocked down, your partner can help you up, but doing so will leave them vulnerable. Please ensure you are safe before helping anyone else. We don’t need any more dead wizards out there!

    Wizard with a Gun

Ward Off Evil (When You’re Dead)

If one of you does succumb to the cold embrace of death, you can still lend a ghostly hand. Ghosts can spook enemies into a fearful state, causing them to run away. When the game is in two-player balance, it can get pretty overwhelming for a single wizard. Even a small spook could be the difference between survival or failure.

    Wizard with a Gun

Rise Again (aka Not Be Dead)

You may find a Resurrection Altar as you wander across The Shatter. We’ve heard that when a living wizard and a ghost stand within the Altar’s circle, the ghost will return to the realm of the living. Take note of any Altars you may see on your travels.

This is just a little look at all the fun and sometimes mysterious features that two wizards can use together to get an upper hand on the chaotic evils that roam The Shatter. We hope you give Wizard with a Gun a shot to survive and thrive with your favorite co-op friends on Xbox!

The katanas are sharpened and the dragon hunt is about to begin! I’m Bartek, the lead producer on Shadow Warrior 3, and our team here at Flying Wild Hog are excited to give you all a fresh look at our game before it launches on March 1. Stay tuned though because this post is getting a few updates throughout the day, with more videos to dive a little deeper into the game. Oh, and one more thing – Shadow Warrior 3 will be a PlayStation Now title at launch.

The first thing we want to share is an extended look at a new mission from Shadow Warrior 3 – the Dragon’s Nest! Our hero and his chatty companion are on the hunt for the dragon that was accidentally let into our dimension at the end of the last game and, more specifically, one of its eggs that can be weaponized to defeat it. The Dragon’s Nest is a beautiful, bright landscape that has seen better days since the dragon made its home there and wrecked the few bridges, buildings, and temples that remain. It’s a good mission to showcase the creativity in combat and movement alongside the new Gore Weapons players gain from activating finishers that we think make Shadow Warrior 3 a thrill.

    Gunplay vs. Swordplay

The Shadow Warrior series has always leaned into the concept that a melee weapon like our katana shouldn’t be thought of as a last resort when you run out of ammo but rather a lethal option in the arsenal that makes players risk getting closer in order to land devastating blows on demons. The new game expands on that mechanic in a few ways including the ability to level up your katana to perform new attacks and creating a relationship between how you kill an enemy and the resources gained from each conquered monster. Striking down a demon with the katana will now yield ammo for your ranged weapons, while blasting them to bloody pieces drops health to patch yourself up and go in for more close-up combat. It’s a viciously fun cycle and we think it will keep players dancing between blades and bullets with each encounter.

    Executions & Gore Weapons

The modern shooter scene has ramped up the action with the addition of executions, or ‘finishers’ at the end of hard fought battles. Shadow Warrior 3 takes that to another level by rewarding players with Gore Weapons, a feature where you literally separate enemies from their implanted tools of destruction and turn them against the horde for a limited time. Nearly every enemy in the game can be dispatched with a finisher to take a Gore Weapon or perk that players will learn to execute at the perfect moment for each situation.

    Mandatory Grappling Hook

So we know that every space marine and demon slayer has a grappling hook these days and that we’re not exactly breaking ground here. However, in Shadow Warrior 3 we think it adds a new dimension of freedom to combat and traversal by allowing players to pull out a few tricks to break free of a sticky situation or clear some room in a battle arena. The grapple hook will allow you to dart and swing around arenas, close the gap between yourself and a demonic target for a chest-caving kick, and cling questionably placed exploding barrels in just the right spot for an explosive result. Paired with a little fluid wall running and combat sliding, players will become masters of dancing around an arena in a creative display of force.

Enter the Dragon’s Nest with new Shadow Warrior 3 gameplay

The Flying Wild Hog team has crafted Shadow Warrior 3 as the next evolution in our series to give more freedom to players in midst of the absolute chaos they create in combat. The dance between wielding the katana and letting loose with a shuriken launcher or railgun before executing an enemy to finish the fight with fireworks cannon is an absolute blast. Wall running, swinging over chasms, and bringing down a 2,000-year old bell tower on unsuspecting demons will keep the action up even more than ever before.

Thank you for taking time to check out all the new bits of fun coming your way with Shadow Warrior 3. If you want to check out the first two games, both are free when you preorder Shadow Warrior 3 at PlayStation Store.

Betretet das Nest des Drachen mit neuem Shadow Warrior 3-Gameplay

    Reading Time: 4 minutes

  • Experience Gris’ Emotional Journey on PS4 November 26

Experience Gris’ Emotional Journey on PS4 November 26

    Reading Time: 3 minutes

Hello there! Nomada Studio (that’s us!) and our good friends at Devolver Digital are thrilled to announce that Gris’ dreamlike world will arrive on PlayStation 4 on November 26! Our team are long time PlayStation fans and we’re so pleased to be able to bring our debut project to the PlayStation community.

It’s been quite the undertaking and we took our time to get it perfect because we wanted to deliver to you the absolute best version of Gris possible. Gris has been praised and awarded honors for the visual design, hand drawn art, and fluid animation so we wanted the PS4 version to be an absolute marvel to look at in motion. Our artists and designers went over the game in meticulous detail, updating each of the game’s beautiful scenarios. The art team revamped over five thousand unique assets to 2x – 4x higher resolution to take advantage of the PS4 Pro and 4K displays. Similarly, the majestic score from Berlinist was integrated into the game with less compression so that the music and audio design all sound cleaner and brighter. Additionally, we added some ‘quality of life’ improvements and a PlayStation-exclusive secret homage to one of our favorite games and an inspiration for Gris.

On a more personal note, we would like to take a moment to express what an honor it is to even share a platform with thatgamecompany’s Journey, a game than not only did we love when we played it on PlayStation 3 but that has also become a great inspiration during these last few years! We hope that players find a similar level of emotional engagement with Gris and see how the iconic Journey influenced the design and feeling of Gris.

Gris will be available at PlayStation Store November 26 and physical PS4 edition from Limited Run Games is available now from their store. We hope that you will enjoy this adventure with us and we look forward to the emotional journey the PlayStation community will take with Gris.

  • Fall Guys Bounces and Bumbles to PS4 in 2020

Fall Guys Bounces and Bumbles to PS4 in 2020

    Reading Time: 2 minutes

Leave your dignity at the door and prepare for glorious failure! The Mediatonic team and our friends at Devolver Digital are excited to announce that will launch as a console exclusive on PlayStation 4 early next year.

Now that we’ve established that we should probably tell you what the heck Fall Guys is and why we think you’ll love it. Fall Guys is sort of a dream game for our studio that combines the slapstick-hilarity of obstacle course television shows like Takeshi’s Castle with the mass-multiplayer competitive feel of a modern battle royale game — just with more falling over things, and into things, and into each other. Because physics.

Players will enter a Fall Guys match with up to 99 other competitors online in a mad dash through five uniquely selected rounds of escalating chaos until one victor remains. Each round will have a set number of competitors that can qualify to move onto the next, in the final round the successful (or just plain lucky) handful of remaining Fall Guys battle it out for the top prize. Winners are rewarded handsomely with new ways to customize their character while the others are left to wallow in embarrassment and best-spectacular-failure replays.

There are dozens of possible courses and challenges that can be arranged to make a five-round match. Door Dash is a straight up race through a series of walls with multiple doors to slam into and hope your first choice allows you to crash through. Tail Tag plops a cute tail on half the competitors and the ability to snag a tail off others if you don’t have one — only those with a tail as the timer runs out move on. Fall Mountain is a frantic rush up the titular mountain where Fall Guys must dodge and weave through traps, obstacles and descending boulders on the way to the top. But it’s not always every Fall Guy for themselves, some rounds will force players to work together, even briefly, to reach a common goal together and move on. You never know what’s coming, ensuring every game will play out very differently from the last!

Our team is thrilled to finally reveal Fall Guys and are excited about building a community around this ambitious game! We have lots more to share in the future — prepare for your inevitable failure in front of the whole world!
