Schauplatz ist der Kontinent Pywell, auf dem drei Clans nach der Führung streben. Entscheidet euch für einen davon und helft dabei, die Herrschaft zu übernehmen.
Ihr werdet den einsamen Söldner Macduff steuern. Während seines Abenteuers muss er Dörfer beschützen, zu denen er immer wieder zurückkehren kann. Der Held unterhält sich hier mit NPCs und hilft dabei, deren Probleme zu lösen.

In der frei begehbaren Welt lauern zahlreiche gefährliche Kreaturen. Um sie zu besiegen, nutzt ihr ein actiongeladenes Kampfsystem, wobei dennoch ein strategisches Vorgehen verlangt wird. Hier ist das Schwert nicht eure einzige Angriffsmöglichkeit: Die Entwickler haben Elemente aus Kampfsportarten und dem Profi-Wrestling einfließen lassen. Darüber hinaus könnt ihr mächtige Fähigkeiten wie das Schleudern von Blitzen erlernen.
Die Gameplay-Premiere fand im Dezember 2020 statt. Von diesem Trailer gibt es noch eine kommentierte Version, in der Executive Producer Daeil Kim interessante Details nennt.
Reiten, Fliegen, Klettern
Um euch fortzubewegen, stehen verschiedene Möglichkeiten zur Auswahl. So könnt ihr ein Reittier nutzen oder mit einem Heißluftballon fliegen. Um wiederum in fremde Siedlungen einzudringen, werdet ihr spontan zum Stabhochspringer. Außerdem habt ihr eine Fähigkeit, die euch in einen schwebenden Geist verwandelt. Und sogar einen Drachen dürft ihr besteigen, um zügig durch die Welt zu fliegen.

Ein weiteres wichtiges Gameplay-Element: Parkour. Der Spieler kann Wände und Bäume hochklettern, was eine gewisse Vertikalität bietet. Auch weit oben gelegene Aussichtspunkte lassen sich erklimmen – wie in “Assassin’s Creed”.
Der wichtigste Begleiter wird im Endeffekt das Pferd sein. Habt ihr gerade keines? Dann zieht raus aufs Feld und zähmt euch eins. Oder ihr sucht einen schnelleren Weg und reißt euch in “GTA”-Manier die nächste vorbeikommende Pferdekutsche unter den Nagel.
Doch Vorsicht! Moralisch verachtenswerte Tätigkeiten haben ihre Konsequenzen. Treibt ihr zu viel Unfug, werdet ihr verurteilt. Welche genauen Folgen das hat, ist aber noch nicht bekannt. Möglicherweise verfolgen euch Gesetzeshüter oder Händler bedienen euch nicht mehr.
Überall gibt’s Nebenquests und Rätsel
An einer Aushängetafel könnt ihr Quests verschiedener Art annehmen. Beispielsweise müsst ihr ein verlorenes Schaf ausfindig machen und zu seinem Besitzer zurückbringen. Wer gerne rätselt, kommt in bestimmten Dungeons ebenfalls auf seine Kosten.

Avast, ye’ scallywags! Why am I talking like this? Because, the dread pirate Corsair comes to Black Desert on June 29 to talk to parrots, swing swords, and chew bubblegum… except there’s no bubblegum in our game.
Corsair’s innate skills with a sword and sea make her a formidable opponent. She’s so fast, players can almost feel the cool ocean breeze in her hair as she rains death down on her opponents. Wielding a fearsome cutlass with all the agility of one who’s spent her life swinging from the riggs of tall ships, Corsair is fearsome in air, land, and water. She has always called the sea her home, so she’s also a fast swimmer who’s able to remain underwater longer than any character in Black Desert.
But what about her secondary weapon, you ask? Well, here’s the twist. Meet Mareca! Corsair’s magical seafaring orb grants her the powers of the ocean itself. Mareca allows her to transform into a mighty Mermaid, slinging waves as easily as she turns heads.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at her skills:
Pirate Tricks: Foolish landlubbers beware when Corsair wields this rope attack to rapidly close the distance to her enemies for her devastating lightning attacks, or uses the rope to evade and quickly counterattack her opponents.
Wave Lash: Extending her sword to full length, Corsair cuts down her enemies with all her might. This skill contains two attacks, with the first inflicting heavy Air Damage, and the second applying Down Attack damage that also afflicts her enemies with a Knock Down debuff.
Riding Waves: Corsair rides atop waves and surfs towards her enemy to strike. When combined with Enhanced Skills, this attack has Corsair taking Mermaid form, allowing her to close longer distances quickly with her waves.
Soaring Wave: Transforming into her Mermaid form, Corsair wields the waves, forming a huge tsunami that chases opponents before cresting, then crashing, upon her foes for considerable damage.

Aufgepasst, ihr Taugenichtse! Warum ich so rede? Weil mit der Korsarin-Klasse der gefürchtete Pirat am 29. Juni nach Black Desert kommt, um mit Papageien zu reden, Schwerter zu schwingen und Kaugummi zu kauen… nur dass es in unserem Spiel kein Kaugummi gibt.
Korsarins angeborene Fähigkeiten mit dem Schwert und dem Meer machen sie zu einem formidablen Gegner. Sie ist so schnell, dass die Spieler fast die kühle Meeresbrise in ihrem Haar spüren können, wenn sie den Tod auf ihre Gegner herabregnen lässt. Sie schwingt ihr furchterregendes Entermesser mit der Agilität einer Frau, die ihr ganzes Leben an den Takelagen großer Schiffe verbracht hat, und ist in der Luft, an Land und im Wasser furchterregend. Das Meer war schon immer ihr Zuhause, daher ist sie auch eine schnelle Schwimmerin, die länger unter Wasser bleiben kann als jeder andere Charakter in Black Desert.
Aber was ist mit ihrer Sekundärwaffe, fragt Ihr? Nun, hier ist der Twist. Darf ich vorstellen: Mareca! Korsarins magische Meereskugel verleiht ihr die Kräfte des Ozeans selbst. Mareca erlaubt es ihr, sich in eine mächtige Meerjungfrau zu verwandeln, die Wellen genauso einfach schleudert, wie sie Köpfe verdreht.
Werfen wir ohne weitere Umschweife einen Blick auf ihre Fähigkeiten:
Piratentricks: Törichte Landratten sollten sich in Acht nehmen, wenn die Korsarin diese Seilattacke einsetzt, um den Abstand zu ihren Gegnern für ihre verheerenden Blitzangriffe schnell zu verringern. Oder das Seil zum Ausweichen und schnellen Kontern ihrer Feinde nutzt.
Wellenschlag: Indem sie ihr Schwert auf volle Länge ausfährt, streckt die Korsarin ihre Feinde mit aller Kraft nieder. Diese Fertigkeit enthält zwei Angriffe, wobei der erste schweren Luftschaden verursacht und der zweite Schaden durch einen Abwärtsangriff verursacht, der ihre Feinde außerdem mit einem Knockdown-Schwächungseffekt belegt.
Wellenreiten: Die Korsarin reitet auf den Wellen und surft auf ihren Gegner zu, um ihn anzugreifen. Wenn diese Attacke mit „Verbesserte Fertigkeiten“ kombiniert wird, nimmt die Korsarin die Form einer Meerjungfrau an, wodurch sie mit ihren Wellen schnell größere Entfernungen überwinden kann.
Steigende Welle: Indem sie sich in ihre Meerjungfrauenform verwandelt, schwingt die Korsarin die Wellen und bildet einen riesigen Tsunami, der Gegner jagt, bevor er auf dem Scheitelpunkt auf ihre Feinde stürzt und beträchtlichen Schaden anrichtet.

Since we produce our games based on actual play, we were naturally impacted by the situation, and we had to redo and revise a whole host of different initiatives. It’s thanks to the production staff, however, that we were able to get it all done anyway. Of course, it’s also thanks to all the efforts by our sales and PR teams, as well as all the other individuals involved that I stand here before you to receive the Grand Award on everyone’s behalf. Above all, though, I’m thankful to all our fans who have stayed through to us through all the years. The PES Series — a step forward for eSports
— What was your focal point for this 25th anniversary release?
Kimura: This might not be the answer you’re expecting, but it’s not as if we thought to do anything in particular, just because it was our 25th anniversary release. We come out with new releases on a yearly basis, so we pull out all the stops on every version we work on. We gave it our all on this release, just as we do for every other one we do every year.
— You added “eFootball” to the title. Are you planning to focus on eSports?
Kimura: When ‘real’ soccer was interrupted/postponed about half a year ago, influencers and professional soccer players would play the game online and stream tournaments, providing a new avenue of entertainment for fans. The phenomenon showed us again the immense entertainment value of eSports, so we’re definitely moving forward in that area.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

This award is, of course, impossible for a youngster like me to achieve all on his own. Making an RPG out of the Dragon Ball story
— There have been many Dragon Ball games up until now. Tell us how the concept for this title came to be the “Super Goku experience?”
Hara: In order to showcase Dragon Ball Z in all its greatness, I thought it necessary to show not just the intense battles and famous scenes, but also everyday life and simple funny scenes unique to Akira Toriyama. The suitable genre for this ended up being an action RPG. We pulled out the stops to let users embody Goku and do absolutely anything and everything they want using him, so the resulting concept became the “Super Goku experience.” In the last few years, we’ve seen a number of Dragon Ball games that allow you to experience the Dragon Ball world from a third person perspective. But there wasn’t any that really allowed you to experience the Dragon Ball World as Goku himself, until now.
— Do you have any memorable encounters with fans of Dragon Ball around the world as well as the media?
Hara: We announced this title in the E3 2019 in Los Angeles, and I remember fielding some really hard-hitting questions from journalists from all over the world. Among those questions I remember one distinctly — “Do you understand what an incredible feat it is to create an RPG out of Dragon Ball?”. I was already feeling quite the pressure before hearing this question, but being told this at the event really had my wheels spinning and I felt like I really put some extra energy into making the end product come out right.
Final Fantasy VII Remake

We’re glad to be able to make an addition to our cabinet, continuing on from our first award for the original Final Fantasy VII, released on the PlayStation some 23 years ago. It feels like the stars aligned somewhat to be receiving this award at the same time of the rebrand to the PlayStation Partner Awards!
Final Fantasy VII Remake has just started, and it’s yet to expand even further. The development team is hard at work on that expansion process, and this win is great fuel to propel us to keep going further. Look out for further developments in the future!
With the quality and the volume, Final Fantasy VII remake exceeds fans’ expectations
— What was your thought process going into making this remake?
Kitase: I, along withexecutive producer Shinji Hashimoto and director Tetsuya Nomura, who all were part of the original Final Fantasy team, always had it in the back of our minds that we wanted to make a remake some day. We just never got the opportunity to do so. The first release was a blockbuster so we knew we had to be careful with it, but we wanted to bring even more realism to characters like Cloud and Aeris on the latest PlayStations of today.
— This first remake was quite the hefty volume. What do you see from here on out?
Kitase: I’m afraid I can’t give you any details just yet. But I think gamers must have gotten a good taste for the quality and depth of the production value of this latest release, even though they might have been worried about it being only up to the escape from Midgar. We pulled out all the stops to create the ideal world in Final Fantasy VII and I think our users appreciate this effort. We’re going to make sure that the worlds we develop from here on out meet the expectations of our fans.
What is the “Sony Square” used when filming the PlayStation Partner Awards 2020 Japan Asia?
The PlayStation Partner Awards 2020 Japan Asia were recorded in Sony Square, a private showroom located in the Sony headquarters. The Sony Group is involved in a wide variety of businesses in the entertainment industry, including electronics, movies, music and games, and extends over even to financial services in Japan.
We’re looking to harness the synergies from this wide variety of businesses to create new value for our customers. We hope that guests can grab a feel for the creativity and technologies that we have to offer.

Hashashin führt Nahkämpfe mit dem Shamshir als Hauptwaffe durch und verfügt über die Kraft des Sandes, um Feinde anzugreifen, zu jagen und sogar zu überfallen (oder im schlimmsten Fall, um zu fliehen).
Sein Hauptskill, der Apostle’s Descent, ist ein AOE-Angriff, bei dem Hashashin in die Luft springt und seinen Shamshir in den Boden knallt, um eine Welle von Sandstürmen auszusenden. Depending on the amount of time spent in Black Desert, you’ll be rewarded with Halloween coins, candy baskets, and cookies. These items can be exchanged for Halloween gift boxes which contain loot that can boost your character’s skills and equipment.
Candy Baskets & Cookies can be exchanged for items including Kzarka’s Sealed Weapon Box, Advice of Valks, Giath’s helmet, and Red Noses’ armor. Halloween coins can be exchanged for items including Fine Accessory Box, Sharp Black Crystal Shard, and Cron Stone.
Halloween is a mischievous time of year, and our GMs have decided to run away with special Golden Bells that are meant to give players an experience boost! Stay tuned for server information announcing when the event will start, but the GM will run from Bartali Farm to the Velia Arena with possession of the Golden Bells. If you can catch and beat them in combat, all servers will be rewarded with an experience boost.
The most infamous Halloween tradition in Black Desert returns today as well, with the return of Isabella the Black Witch. Spawning at a fixed time in-game, adventurers will have to work together to defeat Isabella, since her HP is shared amongst all servers. Those who successfully take down the Black Witch can obtain special items including the Witch’s Bloody Brooch, Halloween Gift Box, Pumpkin Gift Box, Silver and more.
We launched Black Desert on PlayStation 4 just over a month ago, and today we’re bringing the second major content update to players, now available as a free download. The shifting sands of the Valencia region hold many secrets to explore and adventures to complete — so to help prepare you, we’ve detailed some tips and information on what to expect!
The desert kingdom of Valencia brings withering sandstorms that can be deadly if you’re not prepared. Before venturing into the great expanse, be sure to craft Purified Water or Star Anise Tea to prevent Heat Stroke and Hypothermia. To increase the challenge, new enemy types can be found for experienced adventurers to conquer. Beware of the new world boss, Kutum, who emerges from the shifting sands to hunt with lethal precision. To assist in defeating Kutum, Absolute Skills have been added to all classes, enabling devastating and powerful attacks.
For those players looking for an extra boost in combat against the creatures of Valencia, we’ve added the Awakening feature to all ten character classes. Once a unique quest is completed at Level 56, each character’s can be awakened and have their combat prowess permanently boosted, unlocking new skills and weapons for use on the battlefield.
Speaking of character classes, we’re adding two new options for players to choose from for their adventure to become their true self. Lahn and Ninja bring a high-level of agility and precision to master on the battlefield:
Lahn: Lahn is extremely agile, with the unprecedented ability to leap and glide through the air over long distances. Combined with the flexibility of her Crescent Pendulum, whether she’s facing enemies head on or raining death from above, she is truly a force to be reckoned with.
Ninja: Ninja is a high-skill fighter that excels in agility, using dashes, aerial skills and teleportation to rapidly close the distance to enemies. With the ability to conceal his presence, the Ninja can lie in wait before delivering precise, deadly strikes against his opponent.
The kingdom of Valencia has a violent past, one which introduces new gameplay elements for players. Adventurers who kill another player within the region will receive a villain mark regardless of their current Karma, and will be treated as a hostile by other players. Once killed, murderers will be sent to Pila Ku Prison to serve out their time and gain de-buffs. If you look carefully, though, an escape route is rumored to exist…
