PUBG: New Karakin Map, Motor Glider, and Survivor Pass: Shakedown Drop Today with Season 6

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Karakin is our most innovative map yet, chock full of new features to bring you a whole new gameplay experience.

Now
that the holiday lull has come to an end, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)
on Xbox One is dropping into 2020 with a bang! Starting today, we’re kicking
off Season 6 with Update 6.1 which welcomes a brand spankin’ new map to the
battlegrounds: Karakin.

Karakin is our most innovative map yet, chock full of new features to bring you a whole new gameplay experience. It clocks in at just 2×2 km2, making it not only the smallest but the most intense and dangerous map yet. An island off the coast of North Africa, Karakin is made up of arid, rocky environments that provides wide-open terrain and challenging engagements.

There’s
nowhere to hide on Karakin with the new hazard called the Black Zone that’s
designed to push players out of the safety of buildings. When you’re inside the
purple circle on the mini map and hear the siren, the Black Zone is about to
hit. Leveling buildings and turning compounds into ruins while leaving others
undamaged, the Black Zone will introduce a new playing experience with wrecked
buildings, perhaps the very ones you just used for shelter in the last match. Pro
tip: if you hear that siren, run. Run as fast and as far away as you can.

We’re also introducing a new throwable to the mix with sticky bombs. Certain walls and floors on Karakin can be destroyed with sticky bombs, creating new ways to strategize and fight. Of course, we’ve added some secret areas for you to discover and explore with the help of sticky bombs that we’re excited for you to find.

With Update 6.1, a new vehicle “lands” on the battlegrounds and will take you up in the air. Motor Gliders will be available on the maps Erangel, Miramar, and Sanhok. Ideal for duos, the Motor Glider has two seats; one for the pilot and one for a passenger who can shoot and use any weapon from the backseat. The sky’s the limit as there is no set maximum altitude you can reach but stay cautious of the engine as it will start losing power the higher you get.

We’re
not done yet! A new season means a new Survivor Pass. Shakedown is the quickest
way to score the new character and weapon skins for Season 6, but it’s only
available until April 21! Throughout the duration of Season 6, players can
purchase level packs of 5, 20, 30, and 50 so they can gear up with the latest
items faster.

Survivor Pass: Shakedown is available for 1,000 G-coin through the in-game store, along with DLC packs which can be purchased for a limited time from the Microsoft Store.

New
year, new battlegrounds, same heart-pounding, last man-standing action. We’ll
see you on battlegrounds for Season 6!
